Jay Inslee: A New Moral Order

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee, along with dozens of other so-called "progressives," want to be president of the US.

Inslee explained to ABC's George Stephanopolous last Sunday that the way he plans to win the election is to frame climate change as a "character issue rather than just science."

He is not the only one who is playing on the goodness of uninformed citizens.

In fact, there is an emerging "new moral order" from far Left politicians who believe the end always justifies the means.

Be informed.

Inslee, who is running for the highest office in the land, explained to ABC how he plans to skip the science and get to the "character" part.

He said,
"The way this works is to talk about this from a character issue rather than just science. Look, I really believe that the way to win this is to talk about the basic America character of who we are. We think big. We go to the moon. We invent. We create. We build. We lead the world, we don't follow it, and we don't fear the world, you know, we lead it."

Yes, we know all that.

We kept telling Inslee's friend President Obama the same thing, but he repeatedly told us and the world, that we are not exceptional.

But now, apparently, we are.

He called President Trump "so pessimistic" because he is not buying the "New Green Deal."

That, of course, would include everyone else who rejects climate change as it is presented by AOC, Inslee, and the Left.

Inslee said we need "someone to blow the bugle and really call the country to a higher mission."

So, because America has gone to the moon, invented, created, built and led, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal is factual. Global Warming / Climate Change is happening as presented, and as Ocasio-Cortez has bugled to America, we have 10 or 12 years left to correct it. It doesn't matter what it costs---and don't worry about the science.

Given that we can skip the science and go to the character and moral part because we "believe that will win the election"---we've got to move on, and we must do so very fast.

Even Stephanopolous, a certified Left progressive, asked,
"Don't you have to level with people?---Pointing out to Inslee that "you failed to pass a carbon tax through your legislature, you had a ballot initiative on a carbon fee that you campaigned hard for. It went down in November. If you can't succeed in your own state, how can you succeed with the whole country?"

He told Inslee that the cost of this new green world must be addressed. But Inslee's only response was that not spending the trillions and trillions of dollars---and likely destroying America as we have known it---is less an issue than not acting as Ocasio-Cortez is bugling to America.

But Stephanopolous misses the point. It isn't about carbon---or climate---it's about character.

And mostly about power.

Robert Knight published an article this week in which he reminds us all that "A consistent feature of the socialist revolution is that 'the end justifies the means'. So lies are as good as truth if they work."

He writes, "People keep talking about how much Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's 'Green New Deal' would cost."

He says, "Trillions and trillions. But that's not the point. It's all about power."

And he says she and her sponsor, "Sen. Bernie Sanders, are communists in sheep's clothing."

Knight reminds his readers, "
Socialism is a power trip. Its promises of guaranteed income equality, 'free' medical care, 'free' college tuition, state ownership of the means of production, confiscation of private property, central planning and a one-party system inevitably result in coercion and violence."

He says, "In the Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx wrote that socialism was the last evolutionary step on the way to communism. Think of communism as socialism with guns and gulag."

I agree with Inslee in this one thing: The Green Movement, as it's being advanced, is a new moral order. Historically, these revolutions have always required violence because socialism violates the laws of nature and nature's God---the sources of authority for our constitutional rights.

Knight says:
"Progressives---from liberals all the way to communists---express a view of human nature at odds with human experience. It doesn't seem to matter how many times misery and tyranny disprove their theories; they cling to them like Velcro."

And Knight wrote this:

The progressive worldview begins with the idea that we're not created by and in the image of God; we're the product of random developments during millions of years of evolution. Lucky that. Somehow, against all evidence, we're innately good and only suffer problems like inequality because we lack a top-down system with brilliant managers to steer us toward human perfection.
As Karl Marx and his co-author, Friedrich Engels, saw it, the revolution can advance only by doing away with religion, families and private property. Eventually, they wrote, the state would simply fade away and we would all share everything in common, from children to spouses. Seriously.
Engels, who, like Marx, was a first-rate cad, wrote glowingly of extra-marital sex as a liberating experience. The sexual revolution was part and parcel of socialist thought in the 19th century, just as it's a driving force in the Democratic Party today, which pushes LGBTQ sexual anarchy and abortion up to the moment of birth – and beyond.

I'm not suggesting that Governor Inslee embrace all this---I don't know all his personal beliefs--- however, it is historically and morally certain that he and his cultural comrades are marching toward this destination.

And 2020 is a moral contest, not a political one.
