Biden's Battle for Soul of America

AP reported yesterday, "Former Vice President Joe Biden formally joined the crowded Democratic presidential contest...declaring the 'soul of this nation' is at stake if President Trump wins re-election."

Biden tweeted:
"The core values of this nation...our standing in the world...our very democracy...everything that has made America---America---is at stake. That's why today I'm announcing my candidacy for President of the United States."

What does he mean "fighting for the soul of America?"

Be informed.

Biden's view, apparently, is that America's "soul" is our "core values" and he is going to fight for them. Does that mean he's going to fight for our Founding Father's beliefs and principles? Or is he going to fight to control the content of America's core beliefs?

Associated Press quoted Biden, saying,
"We are in a battle for the soul of this nation. If we give Donald Trump eight years in the White House, he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation---who we are. I cannot stand by and watch that happen."

About character and identity.

Biden's apparent campaign theme is based on a lie.

In his announcement video, Biden used words and images to describe Klansmen and neo-Nazis who came to Charlottesville in August, 2017 ---"Their crazed faces illuminated by torches, veins bulging, and baring fangs of racism, chanting the same anti-Semitic bile heard across Europe in the '30s."

Biden said President Trump "stunned the world and shocked the conscience of the nation" by saying there were "some very fine people on both sides."

Here's what really happened back in 2017.

Daniel Payne wrote about it in The Federalist at the time.

One reporter asked President Trump about his claim that there had been "hatred and violence on both sides."

Trump had said there was, because there was. Videos of the confrontation between the two groups affirm hatred and violence on both sides. And people who were there have confirmed there was violence on both sides.

Trump responded to the reporter with this: "Well I do think there's blame. Yes, I think there's blame on both sides. I think there's blame on both sides."

CNN immediately put a line on their screen that read, "HE STILL BLAMES BOTH SIDES."

Payne then documents that the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Time, MSNBC, USA Today, and US News and World Report all published the same words.

NBC News wondered out loud, "Has Trump lost his moral authority for good?"

CNN continued with their own meltdown, calling Trump's words "a meltdown for the ages," declaring, "Trump is who we feared he was." And they claimed, "Trump is offering comfort to racists and extremists."

From Trump's comment, "There's blame on both sides" for the violence; the press, and now Joe Biden have evolved to quoting Trump as saying there were "some very fine people on both sides."---Which is not what he said.

This is not in defense of Trump, but in defense of the truth. And truth is truth.

Biden has "evolved" on other "truths" as well.

Back in 2012, Biden publicly apologized to President Obama for "putting him in a position that led to his [Obama's] announcement that he now supports same-sex marriage, after years of telling the public he supported marriage as between one man and one woman.

Obama credited his daughters and Biden for his own evolution on marriage.

Biden, too, had evolved on marriage. He says after attending an event sponsored by a same-sex couple he saw the love and knew he supported same-sex marriage. He noted that he looked at "these two beautiful kids" and saw the love and said, "Folks, what's happening is, everybody is beginning to see it." His wife Jill agreed.

Joe, who wants to save the soul of America, also has an "evolving" view on abortion.

Roll Call magazine, a Left-leaning publication, was expressing concern yesterday about exactly where Joe stands on abortion.

Roll Call notes, "In the '70s, '80s and '90s voted against federal funding for abortion and to override President Bill Clinton's veto of a ban on late-term procedure termed 'late-term abortions'."

However, they comfort themselves that Biden has "evolved" and the Left should not worry about him, as president he will be a strong supporter of the abortion industry, NARAL and the rest of the abortion crew.

The thread of certainty in Joe Biden is that his core beliefs continue to evolve---even about the most important moral issues such as the sanctity of life and marriage.

How far will he evolve? Where will "progress" lead him? Who knows? What will he believe tomorrow, next year, 4 years from now? It all depends on where the culture leads him.

He is so unstable even the Left is worried about him.

This is not the path to "saving the soul" of anyone or anything ---particularly the soul of America-- it is the path to chaos and destruction.

It is written, "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways."

May I introduce the person who wants to be the next President of the United States? The man who promises to save the soul of America.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful.
