500 Scientists: "No Climate Crises, Stop The Hysteria"

More than 500 scientists have sent a "Climate Declaration" to the United Nations leadership asking for a long overdue, high level, open debate on climate change---asking for more science and less hysteria.

They say, "Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific."

Why is 16-year-old Greta Thunberg being elevated to celebrity, while these scientists are being silenced and dismissed?

Climate hysteria is pervasive---embodied in the 16-year-old, while the science of the Left is found wanting.

A call for honesty.

Be informed.

The hysteria.

The new 16-year-old champion of the "Climate Movement", little, angry Greta Thunberg, told the United Nations Assembly in New York this week:
"You have stolen my dreams"..."This is all wrong... I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean, yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you."

She reminded the UN the evidence has been "crystal clear" and the solutions to climate change are "nowhere in sight."

I agree, her dreams have been stolen, and she should be on the other side of the ocean in her school classroom in Sweden---not being used by secular progressives whose agenda has little to do with her dreams, her future or her peers, or even science, but everything to do with global redistribution of wealth and global political power.

What kind of people abuse children to push their agenda?

Tesla founder Elon Musk praised Greta this week for having "better reasoning & more heart than the vast majority of political leaders."

Democrat presidential candidates have been praising Greta this week for her "scathing speech targeting world leaders for what she described as their inaction against ecological self-extermination."

Beto O'Rourke:
"We need to do better for Greta, for students marching for our lives, and for all of the young people who will inherit our planet from us in worse shape than we found it, unless we act."

Kamala Harris:
"We are currently failing our nation's youth....We owe it to them to stand up to polluters and stop poisoning our planet."

Ironically, Harris is a member of Congress, and they have never "stood up to" the greatest polluter on the planet, China.

Bernie Sanders:
"What a disgrace that it takes a 16-year-old to tell world leaders what they won't acknowledge: We cannot continue with this type of ruthless capitalism that is destroying our planet. This is why we need young people leading our climate justice movement."

Bernie's right in one regard--This is a disgrace.

John Nolte said this week, "What kind of monster afflicts children with eco-anxiety by telling them they will be dead in 12 years? I'll tell you who: the child abusers in the establishment media, the environmental movement, and the Democrat Party--that's who."

He said:
Sadly, once you realize Climate Change is a hoax wrapped in a left-wing political movement, this deliberate act of terrorizing children with lies, a lie every bit as audacious as saying a meteor will hit the earth in 12 years, is revealed as something truly insidious.
Unfortunately, though, and we see this in our public schools and popular culture, the happiest place in the world for a leftist is that spot between parent and child, and that influential spot is mercilessly abused to destroy the most precious gift of childhood — innocence.
These wicked people relentlessly abuse their power to sexualize our children, lie to them about the biology of gender, radicalize them politically, and now, they are so desperate to push the Climate Change Hoax, there’s a full-blown propaganda campaign to scare the living **** out of them.

The deception is so pervasive that The Maryknoll missionaries, known officially as the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America, sent out an official tweet this week comparing Greta to the Virgin Mary.

500 scientists disagree with the hysteria.

More than 500 scientists and professionals in climate and related fields, sent a European Climate Declaration to the Secretary-General of the United Nations asking for a long overdue, high level, open debate on climate change.

The scientists underscored the importance of not rushing into enormously expensive climate action before fully ascertaining the facts.

“There is no statistical evidence that global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods, droughts and suchlike natural disasters, or making them more frequent,” they declared. “However, CO2-mitigation measures are as damaging as they are costly. For instance, wind turbines kill birds and bats, and palm-oil plantations destroy the biodiversity of the rainforests.”

The signatories of the declaration also insist that public policy must respect scientific and economic realities and not just reflect the most fashionable frenzy of the day.

“There is no climate emergency. Therefore, there is no cause for panic and alarm,” they note. “We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050.”
“If better approaches emerge, and they certainly will, we have ample time to reflect and adapt. The aim of international policy should be to provide reliable and affordable energy at all times, and throughout the world,” they state.

In particular, the scientists criticize the general-circulation models of climate on which international policy is currently founded as “unfit for their purpose.”

“Therefore, it is cruel as well as imprudent to advocate the squandering of trillions on the basis of results from such immature models,” they propose. “Current climate policies pointlessly, grievously undermine the economic system, putting lives at risk in countries denied access to affordable, continuous electrical power.”
“We urge you to follow a climate policy based on sound science, realistic economics and genuine concern for those harmed by costly but unnecessary attempts at mitigation,” they declare.

It's revealing that those who demand open-mindedness, tolerance, embracing reality, etc. in accepting their "progressive" ideology, practice none of it.

Takeaway

The Heritage Foundation has written a short article about the difference between a conservative and a progressive.

Three examples:

1. Conservatives and progressives have different views about individuals and communities.

Conservatives ask: "What can I do for myself, my family, my community, and my fellow citizens?"

Progressives ask: "What is unfair? What am I owed? What has offended me today? What must my country do for me?"

2. Conservatives and progressives have different views about diversity and choice.

For progressives, different ethnicities and gender identities are welcomed but a variety of opinions and ideas are not.

Progressives love the word, but do not apply it to decisions on education, healthcare or the environment.

Conservatives see people as individuals, not groups or "identities" and work for solutions from that perspective. They actually believe people should have choices.

3. Conservatives and progressives have a different view of "We the People."

Progressives circumvent "We the People", by using judges, executive orders and government bureaucrats behind closed doors to overturn the will of the people and advance their agenda.

Conservatives believe in individual rights, not special rights.
