No wonder Liz Cheney is upbeat and committed to the "greater good" of taking down Trump, even though polls show she will lose her bid for reelection in Wyoming's primary election tomorrow by as many as 57 points.

Rep. Liz Cheney's lawyer husband, Phillip Perry, is a partner at the law firm that represents Hunter Biden.

And Perry's firm advises a Chinese Communist Party-linked tech company named TME and Exelon.

This, while Trump is now respectfully asking "for seized documents to be returned to Mar-a-Lago because the FBI knowing took privileged 'attorney-client' and 'executive privileged material'."

Be informed, not misled.

Yes, Virginia, DC is a swamp.

Liz Cheney's husband, Philip Perry, is a partner at a law firm that represents Hunter Biden in the Department of Justice's grand jury probe regarding "tax issues."

Perry's fellow partner, Chris Clark, represents Hunter Biden in the grand jury investigation regarding the tax issues.

The New York Post calls Perry's law firm, Latham & Watkins, a "Democrat powerhouse."

Trump-appointed US prosecutor David Weiss is investigating Hunter and associates for tax violations and lying to law enforcement about illegally purchasing a firearm, according to CNN.

Moreover, Perry’s firm has advised a Chinese Communist Party-linked technology company named TME and Exelon Corporation. The State Department in 2019 dubbed TME a tool of the Chinese government. According to the Wall Street Journal, in 2011, Exelon Corporation agreed to provide consulting and training services to an arm of the state-owned China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). The state-owned CNNC’s president and vice president are appointed by the highest administrative position in the government of China, the Premier of the People’s Republic of China. The CNNC supervises all facets of China’s nuclear programs.

Christopher Ashley Ford, assistant secretary of the U.S. State Department’s bureau of international security and nonproliferation, told Quartz about the dangers of TME’s relationship with CCP. “Whether de facto or de jure, such giants can in some important respects or for some purposes act as arms of the state—or, more precisely, the Chinese Communist Party, to which the Chinese state apparatus is itself subordinate,” he said about Latham & Watkins’s client and the CCP.

According to Latham & Watkins’s press release, the firm has advised TME on acquisitions and has celebrated its client as the “market leader in interactive virtual entertainment experiences” in Communist China. TME has positioned itself as the “leading online music and audio entertainment platform in China,” Yahoo Finance reported.

TME is not just a music company, it is “a foundation of technology-facilitated surveillance and social control” for Communist China, which is built upon the “China Dream” or “China Model,” Ford further explained. Along with Chinese companies like Alibaba, Ford said, “these companies export their products and services to the rest of the world, the security and human rights problems associated with this ‘China Model’ are progressively exported with them.”

Cheney’s husband’s law firm has not only advised TME, a CCP-linked company but has lobbied on behalf of companies with ties to the CCP. Latham & Watkins has earned fat checks from their lobbying efforts linked to the CCP. According to the Center For Responsive Politics, between 2001 and 2004, Latham & Watkins was paid $145,000 to lobby on behalf of Exelon Corporation.

Has the Cheney family enriched themselves off being "public servants" in the same ways the Biden family has?

Apparently yes.

During Cheney’s congressional career her net worth has ballooned from an estimated $7 million when she first took office in 2017 to possibly more than $44 million in 2020, an analysis from the Center for Responsive Politics and her most recent financial disclosure forms show. The analysis, which is predicated on ranges, also shows Cheney reported no earned income, gifts, or transactions. Yet Cheney declared she held three posts, which include a trustee position at the University of Wyoming, a member of a holding company, and what appears to be her family’s trust.

Meanwhile, back at Mar-a-Lago.

Former President Donald Trump yesterday called for the Justice Department to return the reams of documents FBI agents seized at his Mar-a-Lago resort last week, pointing to a report that said the information was covered by attorney-client or executive privilege.

“Oh great! It has just been learned that the FBI, in its now famous raid of Mar-a-Lago, took boxes of privileged ‘attorney-client’ material, and also ‘executive’ privileged material, which they knowingly should not have taken,” Trump said on his Truth Social site.

“By copy of this TRUTH, I respectfully request that these documents be immediately returned to the location from which they were taken. Thank you!” Trump posted.

Takeaway

One hundred years after the founding of America and the establishment of our Constitution, James Garfield, our 20th president, wrote this which was published in the "Atlantic" in June of 1877 under the title, "A Century of Progress:"

"Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption.  If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature...If the next centennial does not find us a great nation...it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces."

Who are those who are called to "control the political forces?"

We the people. And the Christian church---those whom Jesus called to be "salt and light."
