Globalism Gasping For Air

Larry Conner wrote yesterday, "There's something exciting happening in Italy, and it's forcing the media to have a collective meltdown. Conservatives are poised to take significant power in the Italian legislature, and the movement is led by right-wing firecracker Giorgia Meloni."

He's right.

The Left is in panic mode because Meloni's political campaign was built around the principles of "God," family, national sovereignty, and freedom.

That doesn't fit with the agenda of most European leaders, nor, sadly does it fit in with the agenda of the current leadership in the United States.

The New York Times was the first leftist news source to pounce. Others are following.

In the mind of the leftist, the more you learn about Giorgia Melloni, the more urgent it becomes to undermine her leadership because she doesn't believe in the right things.

Never forget, globalism is the ultimate goal of the secular, so-called "progressives."

Socialism is the threshold to globalism.

Much can be learned from Italy's new direction.

Be informed, not misled.

The New York Times was the first to pounce. Yesterday they began their feature story with this:

Victorious Meloni Faces Early Test of Italy’s Resolve on Russia

The hard-right leader Giorgia Meloni has been a full-throated supporter of Ukraine, but her coalition partners have sounded like apologists for Vladimir V. Putin.

National Public Radio (NPR) published this yesterday:

Italy will soon be led by the most far-right government it's had since Mussolini.

Giorgia Meloni's Brothers of Italy emerge as the single largest party. Her coalition will be able to form the next government, and Meloni is expected to become Italy's first female prime minister.

Big changes in Italy. Italians have voted in what will be their first-far right government since World War II.

But Larry Conner, writing for conservative, Christian, Town Hall defined Italy's election with this:

There's something exciting happening in Italy, and it's forcing the media to have a collective meltdown. Conservatives are poised to take significant power in the Italian legislature, and the movement is led by right-wing firecracker Giorgia Meloni.

I mentioned her winning the Italian election on the radio Monday.

Because of her Party's connections to a fascist group in the distant past, the media is doing its best to tar and feather her as a supporter of Putin and his brand of hardline leadership.

Breitbart News said this yesterday:

Giorgia Meloni, a rising star in conservative Europe, appeared at CPAC in 2022 and condemned Russia for invading Ukraine.

“We are on the side of international law, we are on the side of freedom, and indeed we are on the side of a proud nation that is teaching the world what it means to fight for freedom,” she said.

Meloni also took a shot at Biden during her speech, noting that the disastrous exit from Afghanistan only encouraged Russia to invade Ukraine.

“Without the outrageous withdrawal of troops from Kabul yesterday, we would have never seen the tragic siege of Kiev today, and certainly no one would be preparing to see Taiwan occupied tomorrow,” she said.

Foreign policy analysts for the Atlantic Council expressed concern that Meloni’s brand of politics signals a policy shift to more conservative-national policies like Poland and Hungary, [ and like Trump] which is also more hostile to the European Union’s goals. [ which are to embrace  globalism]

Others reported that while Italy may have voted in its first-ever female prime minister, she is a supporter of anti-immigration and anti-LGBTQ+ ideology. Despite its fascist roots, she has pushed her Brothers of Italy party to prominence.

They tried to brand her a fascist autocrat, but 18-plus months of turnstile governments and fragile coalitions would probably make any electorate vote for someone new and unconventional.

Townhall says, "Our friends at Newsbusters captured the liberal media going apoplectic since Meloni’s campaign was grounded on “God, country, and family.” So, of course, the Left’s mind melted into oblivion that some politicians would run on a national messaging campaign that makes total sense.

Why is this important for us?

In his 1964 speech, "A Time for Choosing," Ronald Reagan said,

"I suggest to you here there is no right or left, only an up or down. Up to the maximum of individual freedom consistent with law and order, or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. And regardless of their humanitarian purpose, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have, whether they know it or not, chosen this downward path."

Nearly two decades later in 1981 at the CPAC Ronald Reagan said, "Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid. That's why the Marxist vision of man without God must eventually be seen as an empty and false faith---the second oldest in the world---first proclaimed in the Garden of Eden with whispered words... 'Ye shall be as god'."

Takeaway

The New American published an article on this subject of globalism back in 2016. It deserves a second look.

As the radical ideology of globalism comes under increasing pressure worldwide, a number of prominent theologians are joining the discussion, blasting the internationalist movement as “demonic” and even “anti-Christ” in nature.

Of course, critics of globalism who deal primarily in the physical realm have long attacked globalists and their political schemes to subvert national sovereignty as dangerous, totalitarian, extreme, kooky, fringe — even treasonous.

But as globalism becomes politically toxic around the world and across the political spectrum, the spiritual implications of globalism are coming under fresh scrutiny too.

In the New American article, Alex Newman writes that Dr. Jim Garlow, pastor at Skyline Church in San Diego, calls globalism "spiritual and demonic at its core."

He notes that many people who didn't vote for Trump supported his views on national sovereignty. Garlow referenced Ephesians 6:12  “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Senior Associate Pastor Wallace Henely with Second Baptist Church in Houston said, "A major objection to globalism from a spiritual and biblical point of view is that many globalists are pushing for a global value system."

Henley also argues that borders are, in reality, essential in a fallen world. “The Bible shows that ‘gatekeeping’ is a critical component of the ‘theology of borders'."

Getting rid of borders would be extremely dangerous, too, “because within borders a particular civilization can choose to uphold those principles that we [as Christians] believe are at the heart of what makes a civilization a civilization,” he explained. Without sovereign nations and borders to separate them, Henley continued, “the only alternative to that is a global governance scenario which is terrifying.”

The consequences of ignoring Judeo-Christian and biblical principles on borders and immigration will be disastrous, he added. “Feverishly trying to recover the Garden of Eden through constructing borderless utopia, the progressivist globalists are giving us dystopia."

Could it be that the world is tiring of the secular Progressive ideology? Obviously, Italy is. And they are rejecting it with their vote.
