A special message to people of faith and conservatives.
We have shared with you that we are working behind the scenes preparing and organizing for the greatest assault on natural marriage the state of Washington has ever seen. It's coming this next session.
We have been asking for your financial support while being accused publicly by Senator Ed Murray in the Seattle Times and others as merely trying to "raise" money, using homosexual marriage as a vehicle.
That has never been the case. We are trying to raise money to help in the defense of marriage and the costs we are already accruing in this battle. With more to come.
While they mock us, look what the homosexual activists and the Democratic Party are doing. While they have had this and other such annual events for years, this event takes on a new and elevated effort and significance as it focuses on "marriage majority". Translated, that means enough legislators to re-define marriage. And Ed Murray and his colleagues are prepared to go all the way this legislative session.
They are preparing for the cultural battle of our times. The press knows it. I pray people of faith and conservatives know it.
Look what is happening a week from today:
The 14th Annual Fighting for a Marriage Majority Event
What: Please join Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown, House Speaker Frank Chopp, Senator Ed Murray, Representatives Dave Upthegrove, Jim Moeller, Jamie Pedersen, Marko Liias and Laurie Jinkins for the 14th annual Fighting for a Marriage Majority Event. A Democratic majority is the strongest assurance that LGBT voices will be heard in our state legislature and money raised at this event supports strong Democratic candidates in key races around the State of Washington. Sponsorship begins at $150 per person or $300 per couple. Or to attend, please contribute any amount you are able to give. For more information or to make a secure online donation, visit www.fightingforthemajority.org. Please click here to see a complete list of our wonderful sponsors.
When: Tuesday, October 25th, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
Where: At the South Lake Union Discovery Center, 101 Westlake Ave N
Seattle, WA (corner of Westlake Ave and Denny Way)
I know many of our readers, and certainly our supporters, strongly believe in defending marriage against those who seek to redefine it.
They will likely raise hundreds of thousands of dollars at this single event. We will take what we have and stand in defense of marriage. Check out their "wonderful sponsors."
Your donation will allow us to take a strong stand. David and Goliath come to mind, but I won't say it.
Specific training conferences are now under way among those of us who support biblical and traditional marriage. I am working directly with and helped organize a group of legislators who are willing to lay their position on the line for marriage.
Are you willing to stand with us?
MLK once said, "In the end, we will remember not the words of our friends, but the silence of our friends."
This is not a time to be silent.
Please send your donation to Box 399, Bellevue, WA. 98009. Or make an online secure donation here.
Thank you and God bless you.
