President Obama: "Killing Innocent Ultimate Betrayal Of God's Will"

President Obama attended the National Prayer Breakfast yesterday.

That's good.

He told those in attendance, "Killing the innocent" is the "ultimate betrayal of God's will."

That's also good---and true.

He also said, "Extremists succumb to an ignorant nihilism that shows they don't understand the faiths they claim to profess, for killing the innocent is never fulfilling God's will. In fact, it is the ultimate betrayal of God's will."

"Killing the innocent is never fulfilling God's will."

Has the President "evolved" regarding the sanctity of life?

It isn't likely he has evolved toward pro-life.

The President is a long time supporter of abortion---most any kind of abortion at any point in the pregnancy.

Perhaps the President answered the question himself when he said, "They don't understand the faiths they proclaim to profess."

Penny Star wrote the following for CNS News, "Last April, he became the first sitting president to address Planned Parenthood, thanking conference attendees 'for the remarkable work you're doing day in and day out in providing quality health care to women all across America'. In fact Planned Parenthood is the nation's largest abortion provider."

Indeed.

As I recall, the President also concluded that speech to Planned Parenthood with, "May God bless you."

Speaking about AIDS, contraception and abortion in 2008 he said, "I've got two daughters, 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

Babies are not punishments.

"They don't understand the faith they claim to profess."

At a glance, someone could wonder if the President has now evolved to a pro-life belief?

Unfortunately, his actions and policies confirm otherwise.

You have to wonder why the President would choose to use those words in that they seem to indict his own pro-abortion beliefs?

Apparently the news media, for the most part, wondered the same thing. Not all, but most of the media carried a story similar to the story carried by KOMO 4 in Seattle. They didn't even mention the President's comments on "killing the innocent," "God's will," etc. because it doesn't fit the narrative of the abortion agenda. It's uncomfortable, because it's true.

However, the President was actually talking about religious freedom and what is happening in the Central African Republic where people are killing people in the name of their religious belief.

While his presidency has not affirmed religious freedom on many fronts here in our country, he was attempting to make a moral case regarding religious freedom in the African Republic.

Ironic.

The President concluded his remarks quoting Lincoln who said, "It is not so important whose side God is on, its important who is on God's side."

Can we know for sure if we are actually "on God's side?"

We can. Sometimes people stumble at the simplicity of it. But there is only one way to know God and to understand his will. And understand His side.

First, we must know Him personally. That is possible through accepting Jesus Christ as His Son and our personal Savior.

Jesus taught that He came representing God, the Father, because God loves the world and wanted to give every person the opportunity to be forgiven of their sin and reconciled to God.

Reconciliation comes from believing and accepting Christ and His sacrifice, confessing our sins and asking His forgiveness. We are also told we must publicly confess our faith in Christ.

The second step to being sure we are "on God's side" is to learn His purposes and His Truth. The Bible is His inspired, infallible Word and it tells us everything God wants us to know about Him.

Here's the bottom line.

Jesus is the only way to God and the Bible is the infallible Word of God.

It is at this point that words matter and understanding matters more.

It is here that some "don't understand the faith they profess."

Jesus said, "They seeing, see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand" (Matthew 13:13).

Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Informed. Be Prayerful. Be Pro-Active. Be Blessed.
