First Lady Declares War On Chick-fil-A
Mrs. Obama's Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 is forcing a high school to remove Chick-fil-A sandwiches at school. Kids are already upset at the new restrictive diet imposed by the "Kids Act"---this won't help the matter.
The principal says of the Chick-fil-A sandwiches, "They don't meet the standards...We're struggling with it."
Apparently the Obama's are not "struggling with it" so much.
They may not be eating Chick-fil-A, but at an event at the White House last week we learned they, too, are eating stuff that "don't meet the standards." And joking about it.
But first I want you to be aware of a new Rasmuessen Poll published yesterday that finds "Voters See A More Divided Nation; GOPers More enthusiastic To Vote." Among the findings--Lowest number ever believe "their" member of Congress deserves reelection. I strongly recommend you glance at it.
Now. more about healthy eating habits and the First Family.
The new government regulations included in Mrs. Obama's Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 is coming back to bite the kids at Socastee High School in South Carolina. Chick-fil-A sandwiches will not be available when the kids return to school.
Principal Paul Browning told the Myrtle Beach Sun News, "We're struggling with it."
There are several reasons for his struggle.
Todd Starnes with Fox News is also struggling with it.
Starnes says, "Hunger pains aside, there's another consequence to the Chick-fil-A ban---all the profits from Chick-fil-A funded field trips for the school's special needs students.
The principal says, "All the profits went directly to the field trips."
Starnes says the Kids Act, since its inception, has actually created a decline in the National School Lunch Program.
Since 2010, it has declined by 1.2 million kids, which is a drop of 3.7%
Is this the goal?
School teachers are preparing for the shock from kids who like Chick-fil-A and the parents and children who were recipients of the profits when school begins in a few weeks.
Starnes says thanks to Mrs. Obama, "There won't be any more bake sales, cupcakes or Cheese Doodles---just bottled water and fat free kale chips."
He says, "Remember this the next time you see Mrs. Obama scarfing down burrito chili cheese fries, while telling the rest of us to eat Brussels sprouts."
Well, at least Mrs. Obama is "trying to quit eating French fries."
Last week (July 18) at the Kids State Dinner in the East Room of the White House, she told the kids, "I'm making a vow---I'm going to take a break from French fries" suggesting she's been eating them all along.
The entire article about the event is linked above.
However, the "take out" is---"Do what I say, not what I do."
