While Planned Parenthood workers in Spokane, Washington stood nearby laughing, emergency responders loaded a patient into a waiting ambulance to be rushed to a near-by hospital last week.
The incident happened this past Thursday, which is widely known to be one of the "abortion" days at the clinic.
Mary Sorensen, who volunteers for Sidewalk Advocates for Life in Spokane, told Operation Rescue that Planned Parenthood employees deployed umbrellas trying to prevent her from getting a picture of the incident.
Sorensen says she was astounded by the demeanor of the Planned Parenthood employees---you will be too.
As a result of our article yesterday, we have received a number of inquiries as to whether there are any Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Seattle area or in Washington State. I am aware of 2 new stores that will be opening soon. One at 785 116th Ave. NE in Bellevue opens on March 5, 2015. The other in Lynnwood at 3026 196th ST SW opens April 9, 2015.
She told Operation Rescue, "Astoundingly, they were laughing---laughing as they used their umbrellas to block our view---a woman is harmed, and they laugh."
Obviously she was able to get a picture to document the incident, otherwise it would have never been unknown outside the dark corridors of the abortion industry.
I have searched Spokane news sources and am unable to find any mention of it.
Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, says, "All too many abortion patients have ended up on a slab in the morgue. We pray that this woman's injuries were survivable and somehow those responsible for her suffering will be brought to justice."
He said he appreciates Mary Sorensen's quick thinking and actions because it provides documentation that "abortion is not safe in America and never has been."
Ironically, this Planned Parenthood situation came as the City of Spokane was considering a new ordinance that will prevent pro-life sidewalk counselors from stepping into Planned Parenthood's driveway to distribute literature to abortion bound women.
The Spokesman Review reports "250 people jammed the council chambers and adjoining Chase Gallery to get a chance to speak at the lectern regarding the new city law."
Councilman Mike Fagan made an impassioned plea to the council to strike the proposal down. He argued that the law was unconstitutional and violates free speech rights.
Councilman Jon Snyder told the council and the crowd he believes in "a woman's right to choose" but asked, "Why is this business [Planned Parenthood] any different," saying "it isn't, it isn't."
Fagan also told the meeting, "I am pro-life---I am a Christian"---sharing the mistake he had made as a teen when he and his girl friend terminated a pregnancy.
The council did not heed Fagan's call.
In great part because the business of abortion, which is the point of Planned Parenthood's spear, "is different," as Mr. Snyder seemed to recognize.
Planned Parenthood is powerful. It is the face of evil.
The law was passed by a vote of 6-1. God bless you Mike Fagan for standing for life.
