What's Really Going On In The White House?
The mainstream press would not want you to know unless they could somehow scandalize it, but something is going on---regularly-- in the White House that should encourage every biblical Christian who loves this country.
Last April Christian Broadcasting Network reported that "Members of President Donald Trump's cabinet are gathering for prayer weekly."
They reported, "Vice President Mike Pence and eight cabinet secretaries sponsor the sessions, which occur weekly in Washington."
They said sponsors include Vice President Pence and Secretaries Betsy DeVos, Ben Carson,. Sonny Perdue, Rick Perry, Tom Price and Jeff Session. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and CIA Director Mike Pompeo also are sponsors.
Clearly, this is a powerful group by all estimations.
They have asked Ralph Drollinger, a former NBA basketball player and founder of Capitol Ministries to lead the Bible study and prayer meetings.
Drollinger told CBN at the time, "In terms of a country's health and direction, when its leaders are seeking God, the nation is in a position to be blessed by God in ways that are 'far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think'," referring to Ephesians 3:20.
At that time Drollinger said he was teaching through the "Sermon on the Mount."
That is continuing.
Monday, CBN published another story titled, "Who's Inside this Spiritual Awakening?"---"A spiritual awakening is underway at the White House."
Drollinger is still leading as this powerful group continues to seek God through prayer and study of His Word.
He says, "These are godly individuals that God has risen to a position of prominence in our culture", joking that, "I don't think Donald Trump has figured out that he chained himself to the Apostle Paul", referring to Mike Pence.
Drollinger says in Mike Pence he sees similarities to biblical figures like Joseph, Mordecai, and Daniel---all men who rose to the number two position in governments at different times in history.
Nothing like this, at this level, has taken place in the White House in at least the past 100 years.
President Trump, of course, has a standing invitation to attend. I was further encouraged that the President receives detailed notes of the teaching and the focus of prayer each week.
God's ways are always higher than ours.
I think I hear my grandmother saying, "God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform."
Also, this week, The Christian Post is reporting that the White House is "expanding it's engagement with faith leaders by holding three different listening sessions that featured nearly 100 different Christian leaders and activists."
Those attending included Greg Laurie, Michael Brown, Anne Graham Lotz and former Southern Baptist Convention presidents Pastor Jack Graham and Ronnie Floyd.
The Christian Post says "Just weeks after a gathering of about 30 evangelical leaders met for an all-day workday in Washington on July 10 that was highlighted by a prayer session over the President in the Oval Office, the White House Office of Public Liaison expanded its evangelical outreach by inviting faith leaders who have not yet been involved in previous meetings with the administration to voice concerns and thoughts."
Johnnie Moore, a prominent evangelical leader who serves as an informal advisor to the White House says much is coming from these meetings.
Floyd says, "Regardless of what people say...there are two things we need to be encouraged about. First, this administration has proven that they care about what people of faith want and what people of faith are concerned about and they are addressing them. It is very obvious that they are addressing them. Secondly, this administration...is zealous for people to pray for them. Obviously, they need it and we all need it in our country and they are very willing to pursue God about matters in this relationship and asking people to pray for them."
And so it is, in the year of our Lord, 2017, God has begun answering the prayers of his people, as we humble ourselves, asking forgiveness for our sin, and praying for God's healing in our land.
Be Encouraged...and Praise the Lord.
