When the Mormon rock band Imagine Dragons introduced the hit song, "Radioactive," some said it was a protest about racial oppression, nuclear war, Wall Street and the end of the world.
One of the writers, Dan Reynolds, told "Rolling Stone," no, no, it's about "becoming self-empowered."
In the past few days, the American public has become aware that Bill and Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are also "radioactive"---and that too is about self-empowerment---or more precisely, making millions of dollars personally while selling 20% of America's Uranium to Russia.
While the mainstream media has remained relatively silent, the people are beginning to learn the truth.
Since last November, the news media and the secular progressive Left have been obsessed with proving Donald Trump somehow colluded with Russia to win the election.
After months of "investigative reporting" on Trump and millions of dollars spent---zero.
However, now, what many are calling the biggest story since the election-- the bombshell revelations of collusion between the Russians and Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Obama Administration-- is being ignored by this same mainstream press.
The revelation?
We have learned that since 2009, the FBI has been investigating bribery, kickbacks and money laundering in a racketeering scheme that involved the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton-- and several other high officials of the Obama Administration.
All were involved in selling Russia the rights to 20% of all the uranium mined in the United States.
Media Research points out that instead of reporting on this real scandal, ABC, NBC and CBS, along with other news outlets were "obsessing over other things."
The American public has been put through months of grilling this person and that person in the attempt to trip up Trump and tie him to the Russians.
In contrast, Media Research Center says the media has generally avoided talking about the Clinton-Obama deal with Russia---the uranium bombshell.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's approval for the sale of 20% of our US uranium has been known for the past several years. Sean Hannity and a very few other conservative commentators have continued to keep it before the public---the media in general has kept it out of sight.
What is brand new to many is we have now learned of the bribery, money laundering and kickbacks associated with the sell out of American uranium to Russia.
Uranium, as you know, is a primary component in making nuclear weapons.
The Hill reported last Tuesday, "FBI officials collected evidence of a Russian bribery scheme that started as early as 2009, including “an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow.”
Clinton said, on the campaign trail, there was no reason at the time to oppose the Uranium One deal, and argued the committee she served on had no veto power to stop the deal — they only gave the president a recommendation.
But The Hill found documents showing investigators “had gathered substantial evidence well before the committee’s decision that Vadim Mikerin — the main Russian overseeing Putin’s nuclear expansion inside the United States — was engaged in wrongdoing starting in 2009.”
“The Russians were compromising American contractors in the nuclear industry with kickbacks and extortion threats, all of which raised legitimate national security concerns,” a source who worked on the case told The Hill.
It is becoming apparent the FBI sat on the evidence prior to the election last November.
None of this was known outside the Obama Administration until well after the decision was made.
Newly seen court documents reveal that the FBI, in fact, had gathered substantial evidence clear back to 2009.
The main Russian overseeing Putin's nuclear expansion inside the U.S., Vadim Mikerin, was engaged in wrong doing and illegal activity starting in 2009.
Both Hillary Clinton (Sec. of State) and Eric Holder (US A/G)---both in the Obama Administration--- were on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States at the time the company, Uranium One, acquired rights to 20% of all uranium mined in the U.S.
Mikerin, the Russian guy who headed up Russia's interests in this matter, was ultimately caught in a sting operation. He was found to be involved in a "racketeering scheme, including extortion, bribery, money laundering and kick backs---all with the knowledge of Russian leaders.
In 2014 when Mikerin and an accomplice trucking firm were arrested, the FBI and Obama's Justice Department took no credit for the arrests or for breaking the fraud case, even though it was a big deal.
A year later the Justice Department put out a little noticed release stating that the defendants had reached a plea deal---Mikerin had negotiated his deal to where it was booked as a single charge of money laundering. It mentioned that Mikerin was sentenced to 48 months in jail and fined $2.1 million.
The final court case made no mention of any connection to the influence peddling conversations an FBI undercover agent had witnessed about the Russian nuclear officials trying to ingratiate themselves with the Clintons, even though agents had gathered documents showing the transmission of millions of dollars from Russia's nuclear industry to an American entity that had provided assistance to Bill and Hillary Clinton's Foundation.
It appears Congressmen who should have been made aware of this, were not told.
Here's the problem President Trump faces.
The investigation was ultimately supervised by then US Attorney Rod Rosenstein, an Obama appointee. He now serves as Trump's deputy attorney general.
Then assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe is now the deputy FBI Director.
Both of these men play a key role in the current investigation into Donald Trump colluding with Russia, while both were obviously involved in what looks like a cover up for Obama and Clinton.
Another problem President Trump faces.
The Mikerin probe that began in 2009, but was kept from the public and Congress, took place when Robert Mueller was FBI Director. He now leads the investigation of Trump.
The Mikerin case ended in late 2015 under the direction of then FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump fired a few months ago. It was Comey who hired Mueller to investigate Trump.
After the uranium deal was done, former President Bill Clinton was flown to Russia to give one speech. He was paid $500,000 for the speech.
At the same time, Uranium One's chairman---the Russian owned company that obtained 20% of our uranium--donated $2.35 million to the Clinton Foundation.
You will recall that James Comey said he investigated Hillary and found nothing to pursue.
The "investigation" was a 4-hour interview. Mrs Clinton was not put under oath and the interview was not taped. Experts say nobody does that on any case, particularly one of this importance.
It has also become known that Comey had already begun writing his conclusion before the interview.
Trey Goudy, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, says it's time they talk to Comey again.
One of the verses in the rock song "Radioactive" says, "I'm breaking in, shaping up; Checking out the prison bus; This is it, the apocalypse..."
Corruption is about to collide with truth in these matters. In some respects it may well be apocalyptic.
It is becoming pretty clear that Hillary, Bill and the Obama Administration may be the folks who were actually colluding.
And some in Congress are now turning on the Geiger Counter.
