Facebook Installs News Police

Mark Zuckerberg has announced that his Facebook has new plans aimed at helping handpicked news outlets on its platform and will be hiring a number of seasoned journalists to curate a planned "News Tab" feature.

He says this is an attempt to eliminate fake news and clickbait and restore credibility to Facebook.

Be discerning.

Be informed.

News reports have it that this new venture is part of a personal project by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to improve the company's relationship with publishers which have previously accused social media of destroying their business models and stealing content.

Facebook's plan includes hiring a number of seasoned journalists to "curate" the news you see on Facebook.

The Wall Street Journal says "the largest partners in the project will be paid millions of dollars a year."

Facebook executives have said they are willing to pay as much as $3 million a year to license headlines and article previews from news outlets.

Campbell Brown, Facebook's head of news partnerships, says, "Our goal with the news tab is to provide a personalized, highly relevant experience...The majority of stories people will see will appear in the tab via algorithmic selection."

This is an apparent attempt to fix the problem Facebook had when the public discovered their other news police group that monitored the "Facebook Trending News" feature were all far Left progressives, which produced an extreme level of bias against conservative news.

A couple of things you should know.

First, Facebook and Google combined sucks up 60% of all digital advertising revenue that used to go to newspapers.

Secondly, the print outlets Facebook is including in their new arrangement are Walt Disney Co's ABC News, the Wall Street Journal parent Dow Jones, Jeff Bezos' Washington Post, and Bloomberg.

All, with the possible exception of the Wall Street Journal, are consistently bias toward the left, usually silent on Christian issues unless it's negative toward Christians and are fiercely ant-Trump.

My take: Their news police will be "curating" from this bin of news products, while these selected newspapers will be reimbursed a little of what Facebook harvests from you through their dominance.

As long as the public really is informed---they can "start their engines" as far as I'm concerned.

We must know that "news" is often not "news."

A report released yesterday by Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) reveals nothing has changed at Facebook, after the last round of promises.

Kyl's report to the Senate reveals that Facebook continues to face challenges with viewpoint diversity among its employees and board of directors, which impact the creation and implementation of content policies and algorithms.

Facebook is a clone of its far-Left secular progressive founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The employee base is overwhelmingly far-Left progressive.

The attempt is to pacify their two billion users, and congressional inquiries, not deal squarely with the public.

Coincidentally, American CEOs, including Jeff Bezos and Tim Cook, have declared their intention to prioritize political and social goals as well as profit.

A statement was released yesterday, prepared by the Business Roundtable, that revises the long-standing notion that corporations primarily exist to serve the interests of their shareholders.

The statement moves the priorities of corporations away from the shareholder value and towards the more vaguer principle of "inclusive long-term growth."

The new set of principles includes a pledge to foster "diversity and inclusion" in corporate workforces.

So now our largest American corporations are going to start hiring not on merit or ability, but on identity.

Climate change will also be a popular project for the 181 CEO's who signed the statement.

This is a major step toward the politicization of corporations in America.

This will also create staggering amounts of corporate money to spend on social causes. The money will flow to the far-Left progressive organizations, including the so-called Christian Left.

Be prepared to see billions of dollars flow toward the abortion industry, climate change, LGBTQ and socialist-leaning causes, including Jim Wallis' Sojourners, social justice organization---that is the progressive way. I also believe some of this newly created "energy" as progressives like to say, will surely be directed toward reshaping religious freedom.

The religious freedom our Founding Fathers fought for and millions have died for, will be remade into "freedom of worship"---translated: "Do what you want in your church building (to a degree), but do not bring your beliefs into the public square. Especially biblical Christians."

I believe that will manifest itself in an increased effort to silence those who boldly speak God's Truth to the culture because His Truth runs contrary to the prevailing, evolving cultural truth of progressives.

And this so-called cultural "truth" is exactly what Facebook fosters from its platform, and corporations will now be investing additional billions of dollars into.

The Psalmist asked, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

In the following several verses in chapter 11 of Psalms, we find the answers.

1. Put your trust in the Lord. Nothing or no one else.

2. Don't run from the challenges- don't "flee as a bird to your mountain."

3. Don't panic when you see the enemy bend their bows and point their arrows from their ambush.

4. God is in Heaven on His throne. He sees what's happening, and He hates the wickedness. He will respond.

5. The Lord is righteous. His eye is upon you. He cares. And He is in control.

Be Informed. Be Assured, Be Faithful. Be Fearless. Be Prayerful.
