Iran and America's so-called "progressives" apparently can't handle the truth.
In his statement to the nation, the world, and the press yesterday morning, President Trump made his policy toward Iran simple and clear.
Even we non-elite, "little people," understood what he said.
Why then is Iran, Chuck Schummer, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie, the press and the rest of the "progressive" team choking over words while trying to revise what the President actually said?
Be informed.
President Trump addressed the nation from the White House yesterday morning less than 24-hours after Iran launched more than a dozen missiles at al-Asad airbase in Iraq. As he spoke, Vice President Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and the Joint Chiefs of Staff stood behind him in a statement of resolve and unity with the President.
The Left spent the rest of yesterday clearing their throat, mincing words and stuttering, trying to make it appear that the President said something different than he said. Or that he didn't mean what he said. Or that they lack any actual core values or plans other than to bring down his presidency because they hate him, and they disrespect the 63 million Americans who elected him.
What he said was very clear and easy to understand.
- "As long as I am President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon."
- "Our great American forces are prepared for anything. Iran appears to be standing down."
- "The missiles fired last night at us and our allies were paid for with the funds made available by the last administration." That would be Obama and Biden.
- The President then explained: "Iran's hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013, and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash. Instead of saying 'thank you' to the United States, they chanted 'death to America.' In fact, they chanted 'death to America' the day the agreement was signed. Then Iran went on a terror spree, funded by the money from the deal, and created hell in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Iraq."
- President Trump slammed Obama's failed policy of appeasement.
- In regard to killing terrorist mastermind and Iranian leader Qassem Soleimani, the President said: "He should have been terminated long ago."
- Is Trump leading us into another war---or World War? No. He said, "To the people and leaders of Iran: We want you to have a future and a great future, one that you deserve, one of prosperity at home, and harmony with the nations of the world. The United States is ready to embrace peace with all who seek it."
To summarize:
- Iran will not have a nuclear weapon as long as Trump is President, our military is ready and capable to any task, Iran appears to be backing off---and they better do so, Soleimani should have been terminated a long time ago, the missiles fired at our base were paid for by the money Obama gave to Iran, instead of saying "thank you" for the money, they chanted "death to America," and the President wants peace, not war, but that decision is in the hands of Iran's leadership.
Spasms of the progressive Left.
Nancy Pelosi is calling Soleimani's killing---which came directly after a Soleimani-approved terror assault on the US Embassy in Baghdad and amidst further plans for escalated terror attacks against American targets--"disproportionate."
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, choking and stuttering, is suggesting that Trump, not the Iranians, had "escalated " the situation.
Former Vice President Joe Biden said that Trump had "tossed a stick of dynamite into a tinder box."
The New York Times led with this headline following the President's statements to the press--
"Trump Backs Away From Further Military Conflict With Iran"---implying that some how Trump is walking back his message to Iran---didn't really mean it. Or has been intimidated.
Other media were doing their part to mislead the public and undermine the President.
MSNBC was breathlessly reporting that the elderly Ayatollah Khamenei himself was now commanding the missile strikes, and they were claiming that he had killed at least 30 American servicemen.
The Washington Post began reporting the same story, based on MSNBC's reporting.
Meanwhile, CNN was reporting that President Trump had planned to speak to the nation on Tuesday night, but had backed down. White House spokesperson Stephanie Grisham said there had never been a plan for the President to speak Tuesday evening. Complete lie.
CNN also praised Iran for its "smart diplomatic move" in bombing the bases. They ran this headline; "Iran Defies Trump's Wrath with Retaliatory Missile Attacks."
These people hate Trump more than they love our country.
Trump's Iran Policy Isn't the problem; Barack Obama's was.
Columnist Ben Shapiro says, "All this smacks less of legitimate concern about what comes next than it does of sheer panic that Trump has overturned a decade of American and European appeasement of the Iranian regime."
He says,
"This is a deliberate misreading of history designed to absolve the Obama administration of its Iran policy debacle. The administration [Obama] pursed a policy of strengthening Iran economically---and did so while openly acknowledging that Iran would use that newly gained economic strength to pursue terrorism and ballistic missile testing."
Shapiro says Obama's Iran deal was
"simply an attempt to whistle past the graveyard with the terror regime---to pay it off long enough so that President Barack Obama could declare the problem handled...Trump thought differently. Now Iran has come face to face with the prospect that actions have consequences---and those consequences don't involve pallets of cash being shipped over to fund terror organizations that span the globe."
Pray for the President.
Thomas Jefferson said, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
Peter wrote (I Peter 5:8), "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."
Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful.
