Bernie "Berns" the Press...and Biden...and the Democrat Establishment

On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal carried the headline, "Twilight Of Sanders Revolution."

After multiple primary election losses on Tuesday, Bernie held a press conference yesterday that the press expected to be his announcement of "suspending" his campaign for President of the United States.

But Bernie "Berned" the press, using their large national audience to promise he will press on despite his losses.

And he "Berned" Biden by revealing the questions he will be asking Joe in the upcoming one on one debate.

And he "Berned" the Democrat establishment.

We will be talking about the latest news on the Chinese coronavirus spread in Washington State this morning on our live radio program.

Be informed.

Yesterday, Washington Governor Inslee announced that, "Public gatherings and events of more than 250 people will be banned in Pierce, King, and Snohomish counties as the state tries to slow the spread of coronavirus," Gov. Jay Inslee announced Wednesday.
The prohibition will run through March and is likely to be extended, possibly for months. It also could be extended to other counties depending on the spread of the virus.
“The three counties impacted have been chosen because they are experiencing significant community transmission, significant outbreaks and they are large population centers,” said Inslee, adding that the state can enforce the ban but expects that everyone will comply.
He said he is asking all school districts to begin contingency planning for potential school closures in the next few days.
Inslee suggested that Washington could reach 64,000 people infected, 600 to 1900 deaths.
Pierce County Executive Bruce Dammier also noted that this action will impact many religious services, although many churches have been planning for this kind of action.
He said some churches, including his own, will be live streaming their services.

Bernie presses on

On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal headline was titled: "Twilight of Sanders Revolution."

While Bernie's efforts to make America socialist may be in "twilight," having lost in a number of Democrat primaries, his sun is not setting quite yet---at least in his mind.

All the press organizations were promoting "a statement from Sen. Sanders from his home in Vermont at 1 PM EDT" yesterday.

At precisely 1 PM local time, Bernie took the podium.

But he burned the press by using the highly promoted statement to the press to announce and promote that he is "not" suspending anything---he is pressing on.

And he burned Biden, by sharing a long list of questions he will be asking him in the upcoming debate---which will be the first one on one between him and Biden.

"The Bern"

Sanders opened saying,
"Last night, obviously was not a good night for our campaign, from a delegate point of view"---looking for a little silver lining, he noted his victory in North Dakota and noted that at that moment was leading in the vote count in Washington State.

After a scathing tirade against President Trump, he assured the press, he would see Biden at the next debate in Phoenix on Sunday. And listed a number of questions he will be asking Joe.

He admitted that his campaign is "losing the debate over electability." But he rejected the notion that he is not well-positioned to go up against Trump.

He took a straight forward shot at the Democrat establishment.

He said,
"Today I say to the Democrat establishment, in order to win the future, you need to win the voters who represent the future of our country, and you must speak to the issues of concern to them. You cannot simply be satisfied by winning the votes of people who are older."

Bernie declared, "I have won the 'ideological debate'," claiming that "young voters in their 20s, 30s, and 40s continue to support our campaign."

In my opinion, the Democrats are driven more by hate for Trump, than by their ideology or vision for the country. Bernie holds certain beliefs. Specifically, he believes in making America socialistic. This separates him from his comrades in the Democrat Party who have made "defeating Trump" their campaign focus.

An NBC News exit poll affirms the anger. The Seattle Times reported yesterday that NBC found Washington State Democrats to be the greatest of all haters of Trump---83% of Washington State Democrats are angry at Trump. New Hampshire was next at 79%, Missouri, 67% and Michigan, 63%.

So this is essentially what drives and divides the Democrats. But what divides the nation?

Socialism has never worked in human history.

After being hammered for his long history of defending Communists---specifically for praising Cuba's "literacy programs," Sanders has turned to the oldest most deceptive trick in the book.

Monday night Bernie was asked by a Russian immigrant and student from the University of Michigan: Could he assure her that his brand of "democratic socialism" wouldn't cause the same kind of harm that socialism always causes?

Bernie harkened back to the answer every socialist gives every time.

He said,
"What happened and existed in the Soviet Union was not socialism. It was authoritarian Communism." A large group on uninformed young minds applauded.

Bernie told the people: "Real Socialism has never been tried."

Leftist people like Bernie always like to act as if socialist ideology is incompatible with totalitarianism when the opposite is true. The nationalization of industry and dispensing with property rights---necessary for any genuine socialism to occur---can't be instituted without coercion and a centralized authoritarian effort.

Even if the effort to redistribute property is supported at first---ideologically--when they actually come for your property, you see that the "democratic" part never really existed at all.

To believe Bernie's message, you have to believe that Denmark's so-called "socialist" government actually is, when it's not, while places like the Soviet Union---Union of Soviet Socialist Republics---are not real socialism.

Bernie is touting Cuba's "literacy program" as normal while ignoring Leninism, Stalinism, Maoism, Castorism, Baathism, Chavezism, the Khmer Rouge and others, many that led to genocide.

Perhaps this is why it's easier for Democrats to simply hate Trump, than to have a rational response to Bernie.

Ironically, the few policy suggestions that are coming from the Democrats mirror Bernie's beliefs. He's just more out in the open with it.

Vice President Pence, speaking at the Young America's Foundation Conference last Wednesday, said
"It's really remarkable to see leading Democrats openly advocating an economic system that has impoverished millions around the world and robbed the liberties of generations. That system is socialism, but it was freedom, not socialism, that gave us the strongest and most prosperous nation in the history of the world."

The Vice President also noted what Margaret Thatcher once said:
"The problem with socialism is you eventually run out of other people's money."

Indeed. Pray for our country. Pray for the President---and the Vice President.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful.
