Amy Coney Barrett--One Vote Away...

The hearing to decide if Amy Coney Barrett is "qualified" to be seated on the Supreme Court of the United States begins this morning at 9 AM (EDT).

Sen. Lindsay Graham, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, says the hearing will be held over the next four days, concluding on October 15.

Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the hearing will be a combination of in-person and virtual questioning.---exactly as the Senate has been doing on other important matters since COVID19.

The radical Left Democrats are primed for an attack--While Christians are gathered outside the Supreme Court building for prayer.

Be informed, not misled as the "news" media assists the radical Left in trying to deceive the public.

There is no question, Amy Coney Barrett's faith will be on trial over the next 4 days.

The battle will be both political and spiritual.

Barrett is a favorite among conservatives for a couple of reasons, First, she's relatively young and a devout, conservative Catholic, and secondly, her past academic record of legal writings suggest a potential openness to overturning Roe v Wade.

This has made her a target of the pro-abortion Left.

In fact, she's the left's worse nightmare. Unlike Biden and Harris and Hillary and the Obama's testimony of "faith," she and her husband actually practice what they preach about their deeply held religious beliefs---including a belief that abortion is taking the life of an unborn human being.

Article Six of the United States Constitution forbids religious tests for government service: "No religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification  to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

Since her academic and intellectual record is almost beyond attack---they're going to attempt to derail her nomination on the basis of her "extreme religious beliefs."

At 48 years old, it's clear she could serve on the Court for decades. She is a solid conservative, once clerked for Justice Scalia, and taught law at Norte Dame.

Barret is part of a charismatic renewal group within the Catholic Church and she and her husband participate in a "covenant community" called "People of Praise."

This will be attacked from every conceivable angle.

Last week Vice President Pence noted that at Barrett's confirmation hearing two years ago for the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Sen. Diane Feinstein told Barrett "the dogma of your faith lives deep within you," suggesting that eliminated her from serving as a justice.

Pence said,

"Well, I've got news for the Democrats and the Hollwood elites. That dogma lives loudly in me. That dogma lives in hundreds of millions of Americans. And every American who cherishes faith has the right to live and work and worship according to the dictates of our faith and conscience enshrined in the Constitution of the United States."

But the Left doesn't care about the Constitution beyond how they can twist and use it to accomplish their "progressive" goals. That's why they insist it's a "living document" that means something different today than when our Founders wrote it.

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) is also on the Judiciary Committee and has promised she plans to zero in even more forcefully on Barrett's Christian beliefs this time.

Amy Coney Barrett is one vote away from changing the Supreme Court for decades.

Left-leaning AXIOS warned the Left last year: "If Trump gets to replace Ginsberg, especially with Barrett, he would cement a young, reliably conservative majority that could last for decades."

Both Graham and McConnell say they have the votes to confirm the nominee--- whatever the Democrats do.

The Democrat response to the apparent inevitability of Barrett's confirmation is to pack the court.

"Packing the court" is not forbidden by the Constitution, but common respect for the world's most enduring constitution has given both our political parties pause to change having 9 people on the Court.

FDR tried it in his time and miserably failed.

The Democrat Party has already begun the modern-day assault on the document and the US Judiciary, including the "Separation of Power" in our government.

The end always justifies the means to the progressive.

Yesterday on Fox News, Senator Chris Coons (D-DL) said that Barrett's "positions" are "disqualifying" for "the post she is seeking."

He says he will be "laying out the ways" in which her views disqualify her this week.

Yesterday on NBC's "Meet The Press," Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) said that Republicans have bragged about "packing the court" under Trump.

Anchor Chuck Todd pressed him on where Biden stands on the matter, because he has repeatedly refused to answer whether he, as president, would allow that to happen, if the Democrats gain power in the Senate and the Oval Office.

Durbin gave a lengthy response repeating that the Republicans are already doing that by nominating and seating conservative, constitutionalists to the Court.

There's no comparison between a president nominating and the Senate confirming a Supreme Court Justice to replace one who is no longer on the Court and changing the number of justices on the Court from say 9 to 13 or 15, then filling those seats with far-left activists as President Obama did.

Yesterday Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), who is on the Judiciary Committee, said Joe Biden is not telling the public whether or not he would support "packing the court" because, should he be elected, it will not be his decision to make.

The radical far-left people around him---Harris, Bernie, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, Beto---will be making the decisions because they will have given him the election through their support, should he win.

She said, "This is not a leader who knows how to make a decision. He appears powerless when it comes to opposing the left."

People, even some in the press, have been asking Biden if he'll pack the court.

In a recent exchange, he was asked if he thought the public should know before the election what he would do---how many justices would be appropriate?

Biden grew agitated and shouted back at the reporter, "No, they don't" have a right. "I'll tell them after the election."

I've noticed, perhaps you have as well, that every time someone asks Biden about his specific position on an issue, he reacts with anger.

Kamala Harris has already said she supports the idea of packing the court if the Democrats can gain power.

And should Biden be elected, Kamala Harris will very likely become president by virtue of Biden's inability to remain in office four years.

The takeaway.

Vice President Mike Pence said of the attacks on Barrett,

"The American people cherish the freedom of religion for every American and every faith and these attacks on Judge Barrett's faith must stop."

People of faith across this country agree with the Vice President.

A group of "faithful" Americans are gathering in front of the US Supreme Court building today at noon (EDT) to put action to their beliefs.

They are not there to demonstrate---they are there to pray.

The prayers will be led by a group of Christian intercessory prayer leaders. They are specifically asking God to bless Judge Amy Coney Barrett, her family, and the US Senate in the confirmation process.

It would be appropriate if all of us would join them in that prayer.

A nation hangs in the balance.

Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Vigilant. Be Prayerful. VOTE.
