Biden Repeals Military Ban On Transgenders

Monday, President Biden signed an Executive Order that repeals President Trump's ban on transgenders serving in the military---as he had promised to do.

In a released statement he said, "America's strength is found in its diversity."

Many, including America's Founders, would disagree.

Biden says his military advisers told him it would not affect US military readiness.

In 2017, when Trump announced the ban would be "reinstated," he said, "After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the US military."

Homophobic or commonsense?

A closer look.

Be informed, not misled.

Trump and Biden hold very different views on the matter.

On Sunday, Reuters news service reported that President Biden would announce Monday that he was repealing Trump's ban on transgender people enlisting in the US military.

They were right. He did.

Reuters said there are about 1.3 million people serving in the US military, but no numbers are available as to how many are transgender.

After Trump was advised by his military advisers, including Generals, etc., he said

"Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail."

President Biden stressed in his press release that "the US military thrives when it is composed of diverse Americans," adding that "an inclusive military strengthens our national security."

"Simply put," Biden said, "it's the right thing to do and it's in our national interest."

Is it the "right thing to do?"

Ryan T. Anderson, Ph.D. with the Heritage Foundation, wrote an article when Trump reinstated the ban explaining why Trump's decision was the right thing to do.

5 Good Reasons Why Transgender Accommodations Aren't Compatible With Military Readiness.

Ryan says that the policy was originally President Obama's during his last term in office, but Trump repealed it because "The mission of our armed forces is winning wars and protecting the nation. So any personnel policy must prioritize readiness and mission-critical readiness first."

In his book, "When Harry Becomes Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment," Anderson says "the best biology, psychology, and philosophy conclude that sex is a biological reality and that gender is the social expression of that reality."

He notes that "Unfortunately, 41% of people who identify as transgender will attempt suicide at some point in their lives, compared to 4.6% of the general population. And people who have had transition surgery are 19 times more than average to die by suicide."

He says Obama's policy---now Biden's policy---"ignored the reality that placing individuals who might be at risk for suicide or other psychological injury in the most stressful situation imaginable---the battlefield---is reckless."

Anderson also says there are at least 5 good reasons why transgender accommodations are incompatible with military realities.

1. That the privacy of service members must not be infringed.

This means that no soldiers, including those who identify as transgender, should be allowed to use the sex-specific facility of the opposite sex. When it comes to barracks, bathroom, showers, etc., the privacy of all service members must be respected. Clearly, this presents a major problem regarding living quarters.

2. That all service members remain combat-ready at all times.

But soldiers who have "transitioned" medically require regular hormone treatments and follow-up visits after sex-reassignment surgery. It's unclear how someone who has "transitioned" would be deployable.

3. That all service members be held to the same physical fitness standards, and that these standards be based on the reality of biological sex, not the subjective "gender identity."

Men who identify as women should not be held to a lower standard than other men---they should be held to the standard for someone with their body that the military has determined is most effective for combat.

4. That scarce taxpayer monies not be expended on costly and controversial sex-reassignment therapies.

5. That the medical judgment, conscience rights, and religious liberty of military doctors, chaplains, commanding officers, and fellow service members be respected.

Can the military meet these requirements and remain in a state of combat readiness?

Some are suggesting that one of the reasons "transgenders" are wanting to join the military is get their extremely high medical cost covered by taxpayers.

Takeaway.

The left---so-called progressives---are determine to codify into our culture the "normalcy" of  homosexuality and now, transgenderism.

Not only are they undermining the readiness of our military, but the stability of our children.

Yesterday there was a story that the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) has come under fire for a program they are advancing across England, Europe, and the US.

The film, entitled "Identity---Understanding Sexual and Gender Identities" is currently being run on BBC on their "Teach" website and is aimed at children between the ages of 9 and 12 years old.

One scene shows a child asking a Relationships and Sex Education teacher, "How many gender identities are there?"

The teacher replies: "There are so many gender identities. So we know we have got male and female, but there are over 100 if not more gender identities now."

In response to the outrage when parents became aware of this, BBC is now saying that "over 50 teachers were consulted in crafting and the messaging of the film"---implying that 50 misled, activist teachers magically make perversion normal.

The attack on human sexuality is an attack on the very heart of God's plan for the human race. If a community or nation can't even figure out what sex they are; male or female, they are open to anything becoming "truth."

Mass deception.

Jesus was very direct in regard to Satan's deception:

"You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it" (John:8:44).
