As the Supreme Court Ruling on Abortion Looms...

Vice President Harris insisted Friday that people can support abortion rights without having to abandon their faith.

It all depends on what kind of "faith" we're talking about.

Progressives create their belief system, then claim God agrees with them and use Scripture to prove it.

It's impossible to be true to biblical faith and condone---much less lead the cause of abortion.

This sounds like a renewed effort to change the hearts and minds of the uninformed.

Be informed, not misled.

According to the Wall Street Journal, The Supreme Court is expected to issue at least one opinion this morning as it closes out one of its most contentious sessions in recent years, including the unprecedented leak of a draft opinion that, if the majority holds, would overrule Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision recognizing abortion rights.

The court has 17 cases remaining from this term on which it still has to issue opinions, a process it normally concludes by early July.

Abortion activists are stricken with fear. They are saying and doing anything they feel can help save abortion on demand, including twisting Scripture and outright lying about what the Bible actually teaches.

Vice President Harris said Friday, "There's nothing about this issue that would require anyone to abandon their faith. It's simply saying that the government  should not have the ability to decide what an individual does with her own body."

The enticement regarding God sounds old---very old--- Like a conversation Eve had in the Garden: "I know God says we should not murder, but He didn't actually mean it."

And when is the last time you heard a far-Left radical progressive arguing for smaller government, claiming the government "should not have the ability" to do anything?

More and more the Biden administration leaders are leaning on their "devout" religious convictions to sell honest  American people an agenda that is anything but godly or righteous.

"Faith is a verb."

Harris grew up in an interfaith household, as her mother was Hindu and her father Baptist. In an interview last year, she described attending a Baptist church while growing up.

“On Sundays, my mother would dress my sister, Maya, and me in our Sunday best and send us off to the 23rd Avenue Church of God in Oakland, California, where Maya and I sang in the children’s choir,” Harris told Interfaith Youth Core. “That’s where I formed some of my earliest memories of the Bible’s teachings. It’s where I learned that ‘faith’ is a verb and that we must live it, and show it, in action.”

Apparently, her home church in Oakland---the 23rd Avenue Church of God, is affiliated with the  American Baptists according to the Daily Wire, my experience has found that most "Churches of God" are not Calvinist. In any case, she learned at an early age in her church that abortion is Okay. It should not conflict with anyone's Christian faith---as she recalls.

If her church is affiliated with the American Baptists she is apparently unaware or simply chose to lie.

The General Board of American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A. opposes abortion in most circumstances, according to a 1988 declaration.

“As American Baptists, we oppose abortion, as a means of avoiding responsibility for conception; as a primary means of birth control; and without regard for the far-reaching consequences of the act,” the board said.

Harris told the press Friday that she has been “convening folks around many sectors of just who we are as a society” to address “privacy issues” surrounding issues including abortion.

“Most recently, I brought together some constitutional scholars around privacy issues, because we are very concerned that the privacy right from which Roe v. Wade flows can also put at risk the right to contraception [and] the right to same-sex marriage,” she said.

I suspect her "faith" also tears the pages from the Bible that tell us God does not condone same-sex relations and so-called same-sex "marriage."

“I’ve convened faith leaders,” she said. “And, for those of us of faith, I think that we agree, many of us, that there’s nothing about this issue that will require anyone to abandon their faith or change their faith.”

Her husband, Douglas Emhoff, is Jewish and the couple, which married in 2014, claims to observe both Christian and Jewish traditions.

Speaker Pelosi's relative beliefs.

Claiming to be a "devout" Catholic, Pelosi told CBS on Mother's Day that those who do not support abortion are “disrespectful” to women.

Pelosi’s remarks on Mother’s Day were made on CBS News’ “Face The Nation” with Margaret Brennan. The comments come after an early draft of a United States Supreme Court majority opinion leaked earlier that indicated the  Roe v. Wade decision would likely be struck down.

In March, Pelosi described herself as a devout and practicing Catholic but said the right to abortion is the law.

Nancy leads in creating and passing "laws" every day. So why is a "law" that legalizes abortion somehow sanctified?

“That was right for me, it’s not for me to say what’s for somebody else,” Pelosi said. “Nor is it right for you, nor is it right for the Supreme Court. This has been a precedent of the court that should be upheld by the court.”

Biden's devout faith.

Biden, a lifelong Catholic, has been criticized by members of the faith and leaders from his own Catholic Church for his adamant pro-abortion views. I have mentioned it often.

In 2019, he dropped his long-standing support for the Hyde Amendment, the 1970s law forbidding the use of federal funds to subsidize abortions. In the weeks since the Supreme Court took up the issue again, his support for the right to abortion has hardened.

Recently, the president said this: “The idea that we’re going to make the judgment that is going to say that no one can make the judgment to choose to abort a child based on a decision by the Supreme Court, I think, goes way overboard,”

Takeaway.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Isaiah 5:20

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
