Founding Father and second President John Adams said in 1776, "Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men."
Over three-quarters of voters believe President Joe Biden’s America is on the wrong track, according to a Wednesday Morning Consult/Politico poll.
The poll asked respondents, “Now, generally speaking, would you say that things in the country are going in the right direction, or have they pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track?”
It's one thing to recognize, and even define the problems, and quite another to offer solutions.
Be informed, not misled.
In responding to the problems, Mark Alexander, writing in the Patriot Post yesterday, said: "Let me just drop this right up top: As far as Democrat Party failures go, the most obvious would be Joe Biden. He is the Demo lemmings' Pied Piper, the front man for the dumpster fire now consuming our nation. We'd be remiss if we didn't give a big shout-out to all the dullard Demo voters who are responsible for this wreckage."
He's right. By all accounts, it's a train wreck. We're off the rails.
Alexander's article is excellent. I recommend you read it. He identifies the economy as the greatest point of dissatisfaction, which it is, the lack of leadership, and other failed Biden policies.
And he quotes political observer Charles Hurt who observed this week: "Biden gives hope to imbeciles everywhere." And notes, "Biden has certainly kept his inaugural address promise to unite the country---he has united a majority of Americans against him."
Biden's commuter train has no passengers.
The Delaware train station may be named for him, but his train has no more passengers. Even the scribes of the news media are forsaking him.
Seventy-eight percent said in the poll out this week, "The nation is on the wrong track under Biden."
Only 22 percent said it was on the right track.
The survey also found that just 14% strongly approve of Biden, while 42% strongly disapprove, putting his approval rating 28 points underwater. Overall, 58% disapprove of Biden. Thirty-eight percent approve of him.
And there's this:
The poll comes as the president’s mental ability seems to have impacted his overall approval. Sixty-two percent say Biden is not fit to be president because he is too old. A majority of voters believe he is unfit to be president and doubt his mental ability. Fifty-nine percent are worried about his mental and physical fitness.
I think the other 41% were afraid to say it out loud.
Yesterday afternoon President Biden announced a "National Climate Emergency." This will make the day for Al Gore and Ocasio-Cortez and will probably enrich a few despots in third-world countries---and of course, Hunter and a few friends, but it will do nothing for those not on the government take.
Looking through a glass darkly.
As President Biden squints to see a future, he has no vision and we the people are perishing.
Because the southern border remains unsecured, fentanyl has become the greatest killer among 18 to 45-year-olds.
While claiming to be a "devout" Catholic Christian he has devoted enormous effort to undermining faith, freedom, and family, the foundational building blocks of American liberty.
He refuses to listen to the appeals of his own church leadership, demanding he value the sanctity of life and traditional family values rather than undermining these greatest gifts of God.
Alexander says, "These are the nemesis of their [Biden's] agenda. 'Pride Month' may be over, but the Rainbow Mafia is never content."
That Mafia continues to push further and further into the American family by being embedded in public education, entertainment, and the mind of uninformed parents. And silent Christians, even some pastors---afraid to speak up for fear of cultural scorn, as America's children are abused and groomed---under the oversight and undying support of President Biden.
He is, by his own claim, their banner carrier. He has boasted that he, as Vice President, convinced President Obama to go public with his personal support of same-sex "marriage."
This week House Democrats, with the support of 47 Republicans, passed the so-called "Respect for Marriage Act" which is the highest act of disrespect toward an institution that God Himself created for the sustainability of the human race: Traditional, biblical marriage between one man and one woman.
Looking back can be real "progress."
CS Lewis said, "Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turn, then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; and in that case the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man.”
A look back at America's founding principles:
Principle 1– The only reliable basis for sound government and just human relations is Natural Law.
Principle 2– A free people cannot survive under a republican constitution unless they remain virtuous and morally strong.
Principle 3– The most promising method of securing a virtuous people is to elect virtuous leaders.
Principle 4– Without religion the government of a free people cannot be maintained.
Principle 5– All things were created by God, therefore upon him all mankind are equally dependent, and to him they are equally responsible.
Principle 6– All mankind were created equal.
- Equal before God.
- Equal before the law.
- Equal in their rights.
- The Freedom to try.
- The Freedom to buy.
- The Freedom to sell.
- The Freedom to fail.
Principle 7– The proper role of government is to protect equal rights, not provide equal things.
Principle 8– Mankind are endowed by God with certain unalienable rights.
Principle 9– To protect human rights, God has revealed a code of divine law.
Principle 10– The God-given right to govern is vested in the sovereign authority of the whole people.
Principle 11– The majority of the people may alter or abolish a government which has become tyrannical.
Principle 12– The United States of America shall be a republic.
Principle 13– A Constitution should protect the people from the frailties of their rulers.
Principle 14– Life and liberty are secure only so long as the rights of property are secure.
Principle 15– The highest level of prosperity occurs when there is a free-market economy and a minimum of government regulations.
Principle 16– The government should be separated into three branches.
Principle 17– A system of checks and balances should be adopted to prevent the abuse of power by the different branches of government.
Principle 18– The unalienable rights of the people are most likely to be preserved if the principles of government are set forth in a written Constitution.
Principle 19– Only limited and carefully defined powers should be delegated to government, all others being retained by the people.
Principle 20– Efficiency and dispatch require that the government operate according to the will of the majority, but constitutional provisions must be made to protect the rights of the minority.
Principle 21– Strong local self-government is the keystone to preserving human freedom.
Principle 22– A free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of men.
Principle 23– A free society cannot survive as a republic without a broad program of general education.
Principle 24– A free people will not survive unless they stay strong.
Principle 25– “Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations — entangling alliances with none.”-Thomas Jefferson, given in his first inaugural address.
Principle 26– The core unit which determines the strength of any society is the family; therefore the government should foster and protect its integrity.
Principle 27– The burden of debt is as destructive to human freedom as subjugation by conquest.
Principle 28– The United States has a manifest destiny to eventually become a glorious example of God’s law under a restored Constitution that will inspire the entire human race.
The Founders sensed from the very beginning that they were on a divine mission. Their great disappointment was that it didn’t all come to pass in their day, but they knew that someday it would. John Adams wrote:
“I always consider the settlement of America with reverence and wonder, as the opening of a grand scene and design in Providence for the illumination of the ignorant, and the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the earth.”
