Franklin Graham, along with other Christian leaders, is expressing deep concern for our country.
He said on social media, "The swamp in Washington is getting bigger and it will take God to drain it."
"Politics in this country," he said, "has become so corrupt and partisan."
Graham expressed his deep concern for the country, just hours after Trump called for the Department of Justice to release the affidavit used to justify the raid on Trump's home.
While Franklin has been a strong supporter of Trump's presidency, he says there is an even greater reason to put the light on this matter.

Evangelical leader Franklin Graham has expressed his dismay at the circumstances surrounding the FBI raid on the Mar-a-Largo home of former President Donald Trump and issued a personal plea on social media for the release of all documents relating to the controversy.
Graham used a post on Facebook to set out his concerns while pleading for God’s intervention alongside prayers for a quick resolution to a matter he sees as poisonous to the national character.
Graham wrote:
The swamp in Washington is getting bigger, and it will take God to drain it! Politics in this country has become so corrupt and partisan. Former President Trump has called for the immediate release of the unredacted federal warrant related to the FBI’s search of his Mar-a-Lago home. I agree, why not release it and let the American people decide? Then, if it reveals that former President Trump has done something wrong, he will have to answer for it. On the other hand, if the Department of Justice has done something wrong, they will have to answer to the American people for it. Our country is in trouble. We need God’s help, and we need to pray.
On Monday Trump posted this on Truth Social:
There is no way to justify the unannounced RAID of Mar-a-Lago, the home of the 45th President of the United States (who got more votes, by far, than any sitting President in the history of our Country!), by a very large number of gun-toting FBI Agents, and the Department of “Justice” but, in the interest of TRANSPARENCY, I call for the immediate release of the completely Unredacted Affidavit pertaining to this horrible and shocking BREAK-IN. Also, the Judge on this case should recuse!
Clearly, Trump would have some kind of political aspirations connected to this matter, but I believe he loves this country very much---whether or not he runs for president again.
Franklin Graham is a faithful preacher of the Gospel, and also loves our country.
And these voices are joining a chorus of concerns across the nation, calling for full transparency.
Biden's Attorney General says "no."
Attorney General Merrick Garland says his decision to raid Trump's house was not taken "lightly" and was only taken after "taking less intrusive means."
The problem he and others in the Biden administration who lead bureaus such as the Department of Justice, the FBI and others have is that the American people simply don't believe them anymore.
And it isn't only a political difference of opinion---it's a deeply held moral and spiritual difference.
The people don't trust the president's ability to lead and now we have lost confidence in his choice of leaders.
The Justice Department opposes the release of the affidavit, arguing that the "need to protect the integrity of an ongoing law enforcement investigation that implicates national security" while shielding witnesses to the case decision.
We're being asked to trust the people who have turned their heads away from the Hunter Biden mess and Sec. of State Hillary Clinton's 33,000 disappearing emails that were housed on servers kept in the closet of her private home. When a bit of light was turned on her, she acid washed, and the list continues.
We are approaching a boiling point. This shenanigan could be the proverbial tipping point.
Franklin Graham is right. Our national character is being poisoned.
Some thoughts on America and the Fall of Rome.
I personally believe it was a moral failure that bought down the Roman Empire. And I believe it could also bring down America.
A year before the U.S. Constitution was ratified, Edward Gibbon published the final volume of "The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire." Gibbon identified five major causes behind the fall of one of history’s greatest empires. Declining demographics didn’t make the list. Nor did insufficient technology or climate change. His first fundamental factor was the breakdown of the family. Then he listed increased taxation, an insatiable craving for pleasure, an unsustainable buildup of armaments, and the decay of religion.
I personally have Gibbon's seven-volume set on the Roman Empire's rise and fall. I know some historians disagree with Gibbon's conclusions. But consider this:
According to Gibbon, the root cause of the Roman societal collapse was their loss of civic virtue and individual morality. Gibbon believed the laws of morality were unchangeable.
English statesman Edmund Burke, a colleague of Gibbon’s, is often called the father of modern conservatism. He summarized his beliefs about morality in a letter to the sheriffs of Bristol in 1777: “All who have ever written on government are unanimous, that among a people generally corrupt, liberty cannot long exist.”
The first president of the United States was also familiar with Gibbon. George Washington owned a copy of "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire." In his famous farewell address, Washington said, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”
Gibbon, Burke, and Washington believed that the safeguards of society were not military legions or productive merchants or prosperous consumers or pure politicians, but high morals and sincere religion. Yet most politicians and educators today reject this belief.
Let me highlight two of the several reasons Gibbon believed Rome fell.
1. The assault on the family is poisoning the character of our culture.
"Family" as God designed it is being "remade" as we speak.
Founder and second President John Adams told us, “The foundations of national morality must be laid in private families.”
2. The LGBTQ movement is also poisoning the character of our culture.
In Gibbon’s time, the United States had laws against homosexual behavior. In fact, Gibbon notes that Rome’s cultural acceptance of sodomy and sexual perversion was a key factor in the destruction of its family life.
Sodomy was regarded as the last symptom of a dying culture.
Noah Webster---the father of American public education in the first edition of his famous Webster’s Dictionary, defined homosexuality as “a crime against nature.” Before 1962, every American state considered sodomy a felony. And before 1973, the American Psychological Association considered homosexuality a mental disorder.
Now we celebrate it, claiming that God made a mistake in Creation because we now know that there are many variations of gender---not just male and female. And that all people have a right to choose their gender and marry whom they love.
As Franklin Graham said this week: "Our country is in trouble. We need God’s help, and we need to pray."
Indeed we do.
