Is The Tide Turning?

Americans are, in a number of ways, saying they are "fed-up" with the path our country is on.

Biden's economy is hurting everyone, and as he doubles down on his far-left progressive policies it appears things will continue to get worse economically.

However, I believe there are indications that there could be---just maybe, a moral awakening ---a  sunrise, a dawning of moral concern.

Be informed, not misled.

Abortion has killed more than 63 million unwanted unborn babies since 1973.

The abortion industry experienced a major setback this year as the Supreme Court ruled that "abortion " is not a right found in the Constitution.

Leaders who value life are taking action to stop the killing.

This is one example of how abortion is being challenged in our culture this week.

The Christian Post reported this yesterday:

A judge has temporarily blocked federal guidance requiring emergency medical care to include abortion in Texas where abortion is illegal except in medical emergencies, miscarriages, or the removal of ectopic pregnancies.

In July, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued guidance claiming that the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act requires hospitals to provide abortions for a host of reasons, even if they are in a state that bans the procedure.

However, U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix in Lubbock granted a motion on Tuesday for a preliminary injunction against the guidance, arguing that EMTALA does not apply to abortions.

That Guidance goes well beyond EMTALA’s text, which protects both mothers and unborn children, is silent as to abortion, and preempts state law only when the two directly conflict,” wrote Hendrix.

“Since the statute is silent on the question, the Guidance cannot answer how doctors should weigh risks to both a mother and her unborn child. Nor can it, in doing so, create a conflict with state law where one does not exist. The Guidance was thus unauthorized.”

Hendrix also pointed out that “Texas law already overlaps with EMTALA to a significant degree, allowing abortions in life-threatening conditions and for the removal of an ectopic or miscarried pregnancy.”

“In any event, HHS issued it without the required opportunity for public comment. As a result, the Court will preliminarily enjoin the Guidance’s enforcement against the plaintiffs,” he added.

This happened because shortly after HHS issued the abortion guidance in July, the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed suit, claiming that the measure violated the state’s "sovereign interest in the power to create and enforce a legal code."

This isn't isolated.  Abortion is being addressed for what it is: killing unwanted unborn children.

Transgenderism--A "Sociological Contagion."

Clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson, a former professor of sociology at the University of Toronto who quit teaching over the transgender issue, recently told podcaster Joe Rogan that transgenderism is a kind of social contagion among the youth, comparing it to a "satanic ritual abuse".

Michael Brown picked up on this phrase in an article he wrote for  the "Daily Wire" yesterday titled, "Sociological Contagion And the Growing Non-Binary Movement."

The "trans" movement has grown exponentially over the past few years destroying the lives of those kids that escaped abortion.

Brown says, "Just as we should have compassion for those who truly struggle with their gender identity, we should stand firmly against transgender activism. Thankfully, there are more and more signs that the tide is turning against this latest example of sociological contagion."

Noting the dramatic upturn in the number of trans kids today, he asks, "How do we explain it?"

According to Barna, nearly 40% of Gen Z ---those born between 1997 and 2003 now describe themselves as being somewhere on the LGBTQ spectrum.

40%.

A Gallup poll found about half that number. But the number of kids claiming to be transgender is shocking and should be alarming to all of us.

Brown says:

How did we get to the American Library Association celebrating Drag Queen Story Hours for toddlers?

How did we get to Disney funding sex-change surgery for the children of their employees? (Disclosure: The Daily Wire has announced plans for kids' entertainment content.)

How did we get to medical doctors talking about “people who give birth” rather than “mothers” or claiming that men can menstruate too?

How did we get to college classes beginning with each student giving out his or her preferred gender pronouns, including new “pronouns” such as “bun/bun/buns/bunself” or “zhe/zhir/zhirs/zhirself”? (The list is almost endless.)

How did we get to headlines like “Double Mastectomy at 15, Detrans 16-Year-Old Now Seeks Reversal” or “The White House announces moves to gender neutral passports”? (Though posted on April 1, this was not an April Fool’s joke.)

It’s as if something suddenly shifted in our culture, as if something was in the water or in the air — because almost out of the blue, our world turned upside down.

Even with a clear and definite strategy and as much ground as LGBTQ+++ activism has been gaining for decades now if I had told you just 10 years ago that Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner would be named Woman of the Year by Glamour magazine and that the NCAA would defend the “rights” of a biological male competing against biological females in women’s sports, would you have believed me?

The list is endless.

Recently Matt Walsh documented a new and growing internet fad in which kids are diagnosing themselves as suffering with Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) and then consequently identifying as gender non-binary, because if one of these personalities is male and another female and another bi, they are, by their own diagnosis, non-binary, and they refer to themselves as "the system."

This is causing immeasurable damage to kids, and the Biden administration, which is allied with this craze, is enabling it---and consequentially advancing extreme harm to kids and their uninformed parents.

Brown says much of what is happening in the LGBTQ+++ movement started in 1990 when "two Harvard-trained, gay sociologists, Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen, published their watershed book “After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the ‘90s.” Their goal was the “conversion of the average American’s emotions, mind, and will, through a planned psychological attack, in the form of propaganda fed to the nation via the media.”

Add to “the media” the educational system, medical professionals, social media, and peer pressure, and the results have been devastating.

Brown says, "Only a massive wave of truth and reality — an awakening — can turn the tide."

I agree. And I believe the awakening to just how destructive this movement has become is capturing the attention of parents and all decent people.

Becoming informed is certainly a positive first step, but we can only be made whole by our acceptance of the redeeming love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Be Prayerful. Be Informed. Be Engaged. Be Bold.
