President Joe Biden’s deputies have let 6.2 million illegal migrants into the United States, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
Biden’s southern inflow is more than one migrant for every two American births since January 2021.
Something has got to give.
Be informed, not misled.
I'll be talking about this and the results of yesterday's primary election in New Hampshire on our daily radio program this morning.
“More of those people are also being released into the United States than previously, generally through the use of parole authority or with a notice to appear before an immigration judge,” said the report “The Demographic Outlook: 2014 to 2054.”
The 2023 inflow includes 900,000 migrants who were released after they walked up to official border gates, plus 1.1 million migrants who were released after they crossed through gaps in the border wall, said the CBO agency, which acts as an advisor to Capitol Hill legislators.
Roughly half of those migrants — 1.1 million — were let into the country by October 1, 2023, via Biden’s use of the “parole” loophole in border law, the CBO reported.
Biden and his Democratic allies are now trying to expand the parole doorway loophole.
The same parole doorway was only used 34,321 times during the six years from 2014 to 2019, or roughly 5,720 times per year, according to the data that Graham showed at a press briefing in the U.S. Senate.
The data shows that Biden’s deputies paroled 235 migrants for every parolee released by presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
Biden’s parole is a bonanza for migrants and their U.S. employers. They can stay for two years or more, receive an identification number that allows them to get driver’s licenses and other government documents, are put on a five-year track for government aid, and quickly get a work permit that helps them send remittances to families at home — or to pay smugglers to bring the families to the United States.
Be certain there will soon be an attempt to clear all 6.2 million illegals to vote in the upcoming presidential election in November.
Sen. Lindsey Graham says, "To the White House: It’s a red line for all of us [Republicans]. You’re not going to be allowed to continue to do this. You’re not going to be allowed to abuse the law. You’re not going to be allowed to bring about 1.2 million people into the country [annually] … in perpetuity."
And the Leftists claim the Right is killing "democracy."
The CBO data does not include hundreds of thousands of migrants released since October 1, 2023.
The report noted that “CBO estimates that, on net, the number of people immigrating to the United States was 1.2 million in 2021 and 2.7 million in 2022.”
So Biden’s three years of inflows — 1.2 million, 2.7 million, and 3.3 million — up to October 2023 — add up to 6.2 million illegal migrants.
This massive migrant inflow has helped to flatline Americans’ wages and spike the cost of housing, making it more difficult for American families to have many children.
I found it strange that the CBO predicts — without any evidence — that the migrant inflow will drop rapidly after 2024.
Are they suggesting Trump will then be president after 2024? Or do they believe this disaster will be self-correcting?
The policy takes jobs and wealth from heartland states by subsidizing coastal investors and government agencies with a flood of low-wage workers, high-occupancy renters, and government-aided consumers.
Is this a biblical approach to the "Stranger?"
No.
The following is part of what I wrote on April 15, 2021, regarding the biblical "Stranger." I wrote this in our Faith and Freedom Daily column.
Open borders advocates like to claim that the Bible supports what they call "comprehensive immigration reform" which essentially really means open borders.
The religious left's favorite Scripture to support their position is usually Leviticus 19:33-34:
"And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt."
Exodus 23:9 reminds us we know how a stranger feels, "For you lived as strangers in the land of Egypt."
Clearly, anyone of Judeo-Christian faith, when they read that passage, would want to do the right thing regarding the "stranger" in our land.
The religious left has built an open borders movement off that Scripture and a couple of others they feel support open borders.
The key question is, "Who is the stranger?"
The religious left argues that a stranger is any foreigner who immigrates, including those who broke the law.
"Welcome the stranger" is now the banner for the religious left in their advocacy of, essentially, open borders. And it's always linked with "compassion."
The Bible clearly defines a stranger as "a man of non-Israelite birth, resident in the promised land with the permission of the Israelite authorities." Your Bible dictionary will lead you to these verses.
So a stranger in Israel was an immigrant who was in the country with permission. Our founding immigration laws were based on Judeo-Christian principles.
When a stranger is mentioned in the Bible, it always refers to a legal alien, not an illegal one---as in Leviticus 19:33-34.
Borders were important in the most ancient biblical times. When Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, he asked permission each time he crossed a border and entered a new land. When he was denied permission to enter, he changed course and took a different route.
About 2000 years before Christ, Egypt was an oasis of prosperity and opportunity, much like the United States is today. It was a magnet for migrants suffering from climate or economic difficulties. When famine struck the land of Canaan, Abraham, for example, turned to Egypt for relief (Genesis 12: 10).
Egypt didn't appreciate the surge at their borders because it included hostile marauders and foreign barbarians, which they deemed a threat to their country.
In Genesis 12 we see the story where Abraham lied to the authorities, claiming his wife was his sister, and the authorities expelled him from Egypt. And Abraham complied with the authorities. He did not try to sneak back in.
In Hebrew, the Bible uses two different words to define a "foreigner" and an "alien." A foreigner was a person from another land---like a tourist or businessman, who was only in the country temporarily but with permission.
An alien was a person from another land who planned to take up residence, again with the permission of the host country.
When Abraham's great-grandson Joseph wanted to bring his father and brothers to Egypt during another great famine, he had to get permission from Pharoah. Even though he held a high position in government, Joseph himself, was not Egyptian. He was a guest---a foreigner and could not legally bring his family into the land.
When Joseph's brothers returned, they appealed to Pharoah again (Gen. 47:4-6) to allow them to live in the land of Goshen.
God has called us to a life of compassion and charity and helping the poor.
Nowhere in the Bible are we instructed to remove the security of borders in the name of the Lord, yet that's exactly what the religious left and this administration are calling for.
Compassion and charity do not require we look the other way when someone breaks the law, nor does it demand we deconstruct our nation.
What the Biden administration is doing on our southern border is child abuse---not compassion, yet they claim they're doing it in the name of the Lord.
All this while enriching Biden's friends.
