NBC: "Growing Number of Republicans Identify With MAGA Movement"

NBC News admits that "More than one-third of registered voters identified themselves as MAGA supporters in March's NBC News poll. That includes 71% of Republicans."

Last week, NBC said, "As President Donald Trump nears the 100-day mark of his second term, recent polling from NBC News shows how he has consolidated the Republican Party not just around himself, but also around his broader 'Make America Great Again' movement."

Be informed, not misled.

Thirty-six percent of registered voters identified themselves as MAGA supporters in the March NBC News poll. It’s a significant increase from past NBC News polling — up from 23% of respondents in a merged sample of all of NBC News’ polling across 2023 and 27% of respondents in a merged sample of NBC News’ 2024 polling.

The overall share is powered by the 71% of Republicans who now call themselves MAGA supporters.

I know this had to be tough for NBC to report, because their bias against Trump is always evident in their reporting.

The network says, "A shift among Republicans moving more into Trump’s camp is primarily driving this movement, with a 16-point increase in GOPers identifying with the MAGA movement between the two polls right before the 2024 election (55%) and March (71%). There’s also been a similar shift among college-educated men, from 21% in 2024 to 37% in March — also a 16-point increase."

"It’s the kind of pro-Trump consolidation that led to him matching his best-ever approval rating (47%) in NBC News' March poll, though a majority of registered voters," NBC says.

“All of that shift is coming from Republicans,” said Bill McInturff,  a Republican pollster with Public Opinion Strategies who conducted the survey along with Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates.

“Look at this transformed party, where in 14 months we’ve gone from 40% of Republicans from saying they identify as MAGA to 71%,” McInturff continued.

Why the big shift? What's happening?

Newsweek says that Aaron Evans, president of Winning Republicans Strategies, told them: "The surge in MAGA support reflects growing confidence in Trump's leadership and vision. It's not just a comeback—it's a movement rooted in strength, accountability, and putting America first. The jump among college-educated men shows Trump is gaining ground where it counts. As the party unifies behind his message, Republicans head into 2026 stronger, more focused, and ready to win."

Trump got off to a fast, smooth start.

The overwhelming GOP support for President Trump coincides with his approaching 100-day mark in his second term. Whereas the first Trump term was marked by a chaotic start, the second term, which began on Jan. 20, has named a list of voter-driven priorities that are being addressed by the White House every day since.

American Family News says, "The idea behind 'MAGA,' or 'Make America Great Again,' is that Americans are proud of the history and accomplishments of the United States of America, and they demand a secure national border and choose national sovereignty over globalism."

President Trump’s “America First” agenda, which vows to put U.S. interests ahead of our allies around the world, follows a similar theme.

The poll results come after the Democratic Party, with help from the liberal media, have equated “MAGA” and its themes of nationalism and patriotism to white supremacy and the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany.

You will recall that President Biden angrily said, "This MAGA threat is a threat to the brick and mortar of our democratic institutions.  It's also a threat to the character of our nation that gives our Constitution life, that binds us together as Americans, a common cause."

He also called those who support the MAGA Movement "garbage."

Will we ever forget Hillary Clinton's frustration with her inability to cause America to swoon over her and anoint her America's first woman president?

Hillary's opinion of those who supported "MAGA" rather than her was that they are nothing more than a "basket of deplorables."

A yearning for home.

Stella Morabito writes, "Homesickness is at the heart of what Americans have been feeling. If there is a resurgence of nationalism along with Judeo-Christian values, I believe it means that, for a while, Americans became lost and forgot who they were and now wish to return home."

Christian nationalism, properly interpreted, is about a renewed yearning for the profound sense of belonging Americans once had in America, including the longing for Christian values of forgiveness, redemption, and genuine love — all of which are woven into America’s heritage and founding.

Takeaway

Rediscovering our roots.

Charlie Kirk, the founder of "Turning Point USA," which has tens of thousands of college students involved with his ministry, makes the case on why the further that America removes itself from God, the more decline we will see in our country:

The more we turn back to God, the greater the blessing.

He says, "People who do not know or acknowledge God often benefit from the stability of the nation they live in—stability that exists because of God’s blessing, even as they try to deny His existence, His sovereignty over the nations, and the very blessings they freely consume. They attempt to remove the knowledge of God from their nation, even as they live under the grace He provides.

There is a longing for the time when there was a Christian consensus in America.

The Argument Against a Christian America

It’s no different today. When a young man argues to Charlie Kirk that America is based on common law and therefore is not a Christian nation, Charlie not only does an excellent job breaking down the foundational truths of America’s Christian roots, but he also provides answers we can all learn from. His response reminds us to seek a return to God’s original intent for this nation.

  • 📖 “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” – Psalm 11:3

The Christian Foundation of the Original States

Charlie begins by explaining that we were originally a collection of states and colonies. To understand the foundation of our government, you need to read the original state constitutions. Out of the original 13 states, 9 required you to be a Bible-believing Christian to serve in government. All 13 required some form of declaration of faith. Most also required you to be Protestant—except Maryland, which was Catholic—but even Maryland still required a religious declaration.

  • 📖 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” – Psalm 33:12

In fact, nearly every one of the original state constitutions, including Pennsylvania’s, included statements like: “I profess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.” That was the standard. Again, we were a collection of states before becoming one nation.

The Christian Character of the Founding Fathers

It’s also important to note: 55 out of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence were Bible-believing, church-attending Christians.
