Lady Justice is Smiling

Fallout continues over the way the city of Seattle handled a Christian pro-life group's rally over the weekend.

Seattle police arrested 23 at a Mayday USA "Don't Mess With Our Kids" rally that, at the request of police, was ended early because of violence from Antifa and pro-transgender counter-protesters.

I've both written here and talked about on our daily radio program what happened to the Christians and their right to free speech.

We have now learned that the FBI is looking into this matter.

And Lady Justice is smiling.

Be informed, not misled.

Mayor Bruce Harrell, a Democrat, blames the Christian group for "infiltrating" the counter-protesters, but Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced on Tuesday that the FBI is opening an investigation into allegations of targeted violence against religious groups in Seattle.

"Freedom of religion isn't a suggestion," Bongino wrote on X.

"It should be a sigh of relief among believers across this country that justice is returning to the United States," Representative Mark Harris (R-North Carolina) said on "Washington Watch" Wednesday.

For many Christians, breathing was not easy under Joe Biden's knee.

The devout Catholic was no friend to Christians--Catholics or Protestants.

Under his administration, we experienced:

  • Christian universities were fined for their views and policies, according to Dr. Scott Hicks of Liberty University.
  • The IRS charged Cornerstone Church, led by Pastor Gary Hamrick, for alleged violations of the Johnson Amendment, which prevents a church from endorsing a political candidate.
  • Christian military personnel were denied religious exemption requests when COVID-19 vaccines were mandated.
  • The FBI raided pro-life advocate Mark Houck outside of Philadelphia.
  • Roughly 60 pro-life advocates faced FACE Act charges in 25 cases.

And the list continues.

Fox News is reporting that the FBI is now looking into the matter. Fox says, "FBI to probe claims of 'targeted violence' against religious groups after evangelicals' protest in Seattle."

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said Tuesday he had requested an investigation into allegations of "targeted violence" against religious groups after an evangelical conservative group held a rally at Seattle City Hall in response to the mayor blaming Christians for igniting a weekend demonstration that turned violent.

The Christians' "Rattle in Seattle" demonstration began at 5 p.m. Tuesday on the 4th Avenue steps of City Hall in downtown Seattle, where counter-protesters were also present, according to Fox 13.

Fox quotes Mayor Bruce Harrell after the weekend demonstration:

"Seattle is proud of our reputation as a welcoming, inclusive city for LGBTQ+ communities, and we stand with our trans neighbors when they face bigotry and injustice," the mayor said at the time. "Today’s far-right rally was held here for this very reason – to provoke a reaction by promoting beliefs that are inherently opposed to our city’s values, in the heart of Seattle’s most prominent LGBTQ+ neighborhood."

"Anarchists infiltrated the counter-protestors group and inspired violence, prompting SPD to make arrests and ask organizers to shut down the event early, which they did," he continued.

The mayor tries to justify his anti-Christian comments.

The mayor also released respective statements on Tuesday from several of the city's Christian and Jewish leaders siding with Harrell and condemning the weekend "Rattle in Seattle" protest.

Here's what some of the Leftist "Christian" leaders had to say:

"Mayday’s desire is to wrap their personal hate, fear, and bigotry in Christian speak. It won’t work," Rev. Dr. Patricia L. Hunter, a Baptist pastor, said in a statement. "The call of Jesus to his followers was to first love God and secondly to love our neighbors. In no way does the ideology or bad theology of this fringe group embody the love of God we are to exhibit. Those of us who actually follow the Jesus of the New Testament work to make the welcome tent bigger so that all God’s children, regardless of sexuality or sexual identity, are welcome at the table of love, justice, grace, and mercy."

How deceptive. Of course, all who wish to accept Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome. But accepting the Jesus of the New Testament is accepting His forgiveness,  deliverance, and redemption "from" sin, not affirmation of one's sin.

The religious Left is once again trying to call dark light and light dark.

Biblical Christians had this to say:

"Following the MayDay USA worship event at Cal Anderson Park on Saturday, Mayor Harrell had the audacity to issue a press release blaming Christians for the premeditated violence of Antifa, which resulted in the hospitalization of Seattle Police Department personnel and the arrest of 23 Antifa agitators. Under Mayor Harrell’s leadership, the city of Seattle has continued its spiral into lawlessness and dysfunction while the First Amendment rights of citizens to peacefully assemble have been disregarded."

Takeaway

Lady Justice is smiling. The Apostle Paul is not.

  • "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."
  •  "As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed" (Galatians 1:8-9).
