Leftist activists are coordinating a protest on June 14—Flag Day and President Donald Trump's birthday—targeting a military-style parade planned by the Trump administration.
The president has said the parade will be a patriotic tribute, but the "No Kings" group, which is organizing the protest, has described the parade as "a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday."
Be informed, not misled.
Newsweek says, "Since Trump returned to office in January, there have been major nationwide protests against his policies. The June 14 event is shaping up as a flash point for tensions between Trump's critics and supporters. Opponents of the planned parade have compared it to authoritarian displays of military power, but the president has defended the value of the 'big, beautiful' parade to celebrate the country."
He says it isn't about his birthday; it's about our country, our flag, and what it represents.
NBC's Kristen Welker tried to push Trump about his birthday being on the same day: “My birthday happens to be on Flag Day,” Trump said, “I view it for Flag Day, not necessarily my birthday. Somebody put it together."
The "No Kings" group, along with partners such as Black Voters Matter and the Leftist Declaration for American Democracy, is mobilizing volunteers to show up "everywhere Trump isn't—to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings."
"Real power isn't staged in Washington," the group said. "It rises up everywhere else."
Planning documents for the parade obtained by the Associated Press call for more than 6,600 soldiers, at least 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters, seven bands, and possibly about 2,000 civilians.
Defense officials told NBC News that this kind of parade could cost up to $45 million, which Trump said was "peanuts compared to the value of doing it."
The press, of course, is finding ways to show how Trump is going to hurt the military by having the national event.
The press has been slow to remember that June 14 is also the Army's 250th birthday.
It's unfortunate that the American press's dislike--hatred, toward Trump is so strong that they can't bring themselves to do an honest interview about something so important to so many people: Our country.
The press, with a few exceptions, has, in their arrogance and dishonesty, forgotten that it is America that provides them the freedom to do what they are supposed to be doing: reporting the events of the day without prejudice or bias.
They are not capable of that because they are consumed with activism on behalf of the Leftist agenda.
Breitbart News is reporting, "Agitators are planning a not-too-surprising birthday gift for President Donald Trump on his 79th birthday — yet another anti-Trump demonstration."
Organizers say they are hoping to upstage a military parade the president has planned for June 14 in Washington, DC.
Refuse Fascism, the group claiming to be behind the event, has held rallies against the Trump administration in downtown Los Angeles and other cities, ABC’s network affiliate Channel 7 reported Sunday.
Sunsara Taylor, who is with the group, told ABC's 7 :
"Donald Trump is trashing the rule of law, he’s disappearing immigrants, he’s threatening to do the same without any due process (for) legal citizens. The other day on television he said he didn’t know if he has to abide by the Constitution. This is an emergency. Not just for people in this country, but for all over the planet."
This is what ABC 7 said on the air:
A big protest is planned next month to upstage a massive military parade on President Trump's birthday.
The group behind the event, Refuse Facism, held rallies against the Trump administration in downtown Los Angeles and cities across the country Saturday.
Their rallying cry is "Trump must go now!" They say they're uniting Americans from diverse political backgrounds with the common goal of ousting Trump from office.
"Donald Trump is trashing the rule of law, he's disappearing immigrants, he's threatening to do the same without any due process (for) legal citizens. The other day on television he said he didn't know if he has to abide by the Constitution. This is an emergency. Not just for people in this country, but for all over the planet," said the group's Susara Taylor.
They're calling on others to join them for a nationwide protest called "No Kings Day" on June 14.
That's the same day the administration will hold a parade to mark the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary, featuring dozens of tanks, thousands of marching troops, and military aircraft flying over Washington, D.C.
That happens to be the day the president turns 79 years old.
Takeaway
The "No Kings" coalition is recruiting volunteers online and working with local chapters in more than 30 states. Organizers say they expect thousands to participate in coordinated events, with more information to be released closer to June 14.
Law enforcement agencies in Washington, D.C., are preparing for heightened security, though officials have not disclosed specific plans.
Beginning the day of his first inauguration, protests against Donald Trump have become a regular and predictable feature during his terms in office.
Yet, they rarely produce massive numbers and have had a national sweep like the demonstrations and riots after George Floyd's death in 2020.
We'll see what happens on June 14.
One thing I can assure you. Our US Flag will be flying outside our home.
