Is No One Illegal on Stolen Land?

Riots against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have spread from Los Angeles up to Portland, Oregon, the home of the radical left-wing group Antifa. 

As of Wednesday night, hundreds of masked protesters marched on the streets, holding signs that argued and criticized the ICE deportation raids, and more radical signs claiming that no one is illegal on stolen land. 

The riots continue. And they are not "mostly peaceful."

Be informed, not misled.

Similar to those at the LA riot, the protestors claimed that immigration laws shouldn't be enforced because America is on "stolen land."

A conservative journalist asked one of the rioters wearing a Black Panthers party shirt, "Are there illegal immigrants on stolen land?"

He later told the reporter the government might just have to deal with illegal immigration because, at the end of the day, this land is for everyone. "And it's, you know, definitely for the natives."

Many of the protestors were echoing the same sentiments.

This is a favorite argument of modern so-called "progressives," and it is both intellectually lazy and self-defeating. If this logic were applied consistently, no one on earth would be entitled to live anywhere. Nearly every modern nation was founded on some form of conquest, migration, or displacement. Human history is a long, unbroken chain of land being taken, borders being redrawn, and cultures rising and falling. The protestors' argument demonstrates nothing but historical ignorance and utopian delusion.

Other protesters demonstrated further ignorance that is impossible to defend. The conservative reporter asked, "Would you rather have ICE or ISIS here?" to which the protester replied, "ISIS."

Fox News reports that "Once the sun had set in Portland, the demonstrators got more confrontational. They rolled a dumpster in front of the entrance to an ICE facility, and were promptly shot at with non-lethal munitions by federal law enforcement agents on the roof of the facility. The rioters were told to disperse, but defied the order, forcing the agents to physically engage the crowd. Officers in riot gear fired tear gas, rubber bullets, and flashbangs into the crowd, driving them away from the building. The Department of Homeland Security cited the need for government vehicles to enter and leave the building as the reason for their use of force. Only two people were arrested."

The rioters continued to block entrance to the ICE facility. Turning Point USA had their cameras running as Homeland Security gave Antifa multiple warnings to disperse from the Portland ICE building. Several vehicles needed to exit. 

When the militants refused, officers moved in and unleashed their full fury. Multiple people were been arrested.

Townhall's headline read, "Feds Rain Hell on Antifa Mob Outside Portland ICE Facility."

Fox News summed up the evening with this:

Hundreds of mostly masked protesters had marched on the streets before sunset, some holding signs reading "Nobody is illegal on stolen land" and "Protect immigrants and refugees." Several were wearing keffiyehs, a symbol often associated with left-wing protest movements.

They then gathered outside the Macadam Avenue building and could be seen trying to block the entrance. 

As nighttime fell, tensions escalated and protesters rolled a dumpster in front of the ICE entrance, prompting a barrage of non-lethal blast balls being fired by law enforcement on a rooftop, per the video.

Despite multiple warnings to disperse, the protesters refused to leave. Officers in riot gear then advanced, firing munitions while tear gas filled the air, forcing the group to eventually retreat. Homeland Security cited the need to clear the area so several government vehicles could exit safely.

Smoke grenades were launched at riot police, who responded with overwhelming force to break up the protest.

Fox reported, "Rioters were later heard chanting, 'Whose streets, our streets,' and shouting profanities at law enforcement."

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital that five people were arrested.

"Last night, Portland rioters violently targeted federal law enforcement — 250 rioters launched fireworks, shined lasers in officers’ eyes to temporarily blind them and stormed an ICE field office," McLaughlin said. "Ultimately, five individuals were arrested on various charges including assault on federal law enforcement. We won’t sit idly by and watch these cowards."

She said that officers are facing a 413% increase in assaults against them.

"Secretary Noem’s message to the rioters is clear: you will not stop us or slow us down. ICE and our federal law enforcement partners will continue to enforce the law. And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

  • Not only a Single Individual: The concept of the antichrist in these verses is not solely about the single, future individual, but also about the presence of a spirit or attitude that opposes Christ. 

In essence, the verses highlight that believers should be discerning about spirits and recognize that not all teachings or beliefs are aligned with God's truth. The presence of those who deny the true nature of Christ, particularly the incarnation, is a sign of the spiritual battle taking place in the world.
