NBC has stayed ‘true to their audience’ as they have corrected the pronouns in their coverage of the Annunciation Catholic School shooter in Minneapolis to reflect what the biological male claims as his gender identity.

The Left never gives up in its mission to rewrite God's Natural Order.

Be informed, not misled.

American Family News says, ( link 1 ) "Preaching to the choir: NBC plays to its audience with gender apology...NBC continues to advertise for 'political correctness' more than biological fact."

"Fox News reports ( link 2 ) that NBC has stayed ‘true to their audience’ as they have corrected the pronouns in their coverage of the Annunciation Catholic School shooter in Minneapolis to reflect what the biological male claims as his gender identity. The correction, added to the bottom of the NBC article, states, “A previous version of this article used the wrong pronoun for the shooter. She used female pronouns.”

Robert Westman, who prefers to be called Robin, is responsible for the mass shooting late last month that injured 18 and killed two children.

Joshua Arnold, senior writer for The Washington Stand ( link 3 ) spoke with Jody Hice on Washington Watch about the crazy situation of this case.

( indent) “The police identified that this young man was, in fact, a man. He had been living and identifying as a woman or at least as transgender in some ways. He legally changed his name from a masculine name to a more gender-neutral name at the age of 17, and his parents consented to that name change,” Arnold said.

( indent) However, Arnold states that, in some of the shooter’s writings, he admitted that he could never be a woman. The Catholic News Agency reports that notes from Westman revealed on YouTube say that he wrote, “I regret being trans,” and wished “I never brainwashed myself.”

( indent) “Yet you have so many of the legacy media outlets using female pronouns to describe him, referring to him as a woman. In the case of NBC, they referred to him as a man and then corrected the article and said, ‘oh, he actually, or she, they, used female pronouns.’ Well, maybe he did at one point, but he was confused, and now your audience is, too,” Arnold says.

( indent) He believes that one reason behind this change is because of the editorial guidelines from The Associated Press. These guidelines, which are very far left, are followed closely by many major news organizations.

( indent) It’s not only about the AP. NBC is also preaching to its choir.

(bold) A growing trend in the West.

Kathy Athearn wrote ( link 4 ) in the Washington Stand, "Most of the world has been stunned by the news that Graham Linehan, a comedian and writer of British TV programs, was arrested at Heathrow Airport in London last Monday for posts on X in which he expressed opposition to transgenderism and men in women’s bathrooms."

She continues, "While his comments were crass, the fact that Linehan was taken into custody by five armed policemen for publicly sharing his thoughts should alarm everyone who holds dear the most basic freedoms of speech and religion. Sadly, Linehan’s arrest is yet another example of the growing incidents of restrictions on speech and religion in Europe, as FRC detailed earlier this year. In fact, Vice President J.D. Vance presented a stirring speech about this alarming trend in some of his first remarks as second-in-command when he attended the Munich Security Conference in February."

Indeed, he did. Vice President Vance ( link 5) was crystal clear in his comments to Europe in February:

"President Joe Biden regularly fell asleep during diplomatic meetings. Vice President J.D. Vance debuted on the international stage Friday morning with a powerful speech aimed at awakening foreign elites to their violation of pro-life advocates’ rights, censorship of Christians, and 'running in fear of your own voters. ' '”

Vance fearlessly faced down the assembled powers of Europe at the Munich Security Conference, highlighting one nation’s Orwellian prosecution of pro-life Christians for the crime of silent public prayer, and the members’ collective determination to preserve “Our Democracy,” without respecting civil liberties or the will of the people.

Then he said, “The threat that I worry the most about vis-à-vis Europe is not Russia; it’s not China; it’s not any other external actor. What I worry about is the threat from within: the retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values, values shared with the United States of America,” said Vance. (The vice president’s wording shed light on President Trump’s use of the phrase “the enemy within,” which Democrats attempted to morph into a promise to use the U.S. military against American citizens.)

“Perhaps most concerningly, I look to our very dear friends, the United Kingdom, where the backslide away from conscience rights has placed the basic liberties of religious Britons, in particular, in the crosshairs,” said Vance. “A little over two years ago, the British government charged Adam Smith-Connor, a 51-year-old physiotherapist and an Army veteran, with the heinous crime of standing 50 meters from an abortion clinic and silently praying for three minutes, not obstructing anyone, not interacting with anyone, just silently praying on his own.”

( indent) Police arrested the British Army Reserves veteran, who deployed in Afghanistan, in November 2022 after he admitted he was, in fact, praying silently outside an abortion facility in Bournemouth for his son, Jacob, who had been aborted 22 years earlier. “The officers were not moved. Adam was found guilty of breaking the government’s new buffer zones law, which criminalizes silent prayer,” said Vance. Although Smith-Connor spoke not a word and stood with his back to the abortion facility, police prosecuted him for violating a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) that bans any hint of disapproval within 150 meters (almost 500 feet) of an abortion facility. Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court convicted him last October and imposed a fine of £9,000 ($11,330 U.S.).

( bold) Takeaway

I'm reminded of the words of Cicero as he watched the decline and fall of Rome:

"A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague."

The dangers Vance highlighted are not going anywhere. Thankfully, for the next four years, and hopefully more,  neither is the Trump-Vance administration’s principled, faithful leadership on these issues.
