Democrat Elitism Comes From Their Atheistic Worldview

Cheryl Chumley, writing for the Washington Times, says, "Well, that’s certainly true. But that’s only part of the story about elitism."

That snobbery didn’t come from thin air. Its root is pride — its root is atheism — and that’s the real problem with the Democrat Party: They’ve decided they don’t need God.

Be informed, not misled.

Should God be separated from politics?

Do you remember back in 2012, the Democratic National Convention voted to remove “God” from the party platform? It was only massive backlash that prompted the convention chairman to put the Almighty’s name back in — but it took three votes and even then, the voices shouting “aye” weren’t exactly drowning out the voices shouting “no.” This wasn’t the first time Democrats tried to sideline God.

In their 2004 convention, Democrats mentioned God seven times, the Twin Cities Pioneer Press wrote in February. “In 2008, [Dems mentioned God] one time and this year, God was gone — until Democratic delegates reluctantly resurrected him … amid a chorus of boos."

They were actually booing God. Publicly. In front of the world.

Think about that for a moment. Democrats could have simply said nothing and sat quietly. Instead, they chose to boo. That’s some kind of pride.

  • “Most religious ‘nones’ align with Democrats,” Pew Research reported in April of 2024.
  • “Seventy percent of religiously unaffiliated voters align with the Democratic Party,” Pew wrote.
  • “More than eight-in-ten atheists (84 percent) align with the Democratic Party, as do 78 percent of agnostics,” Pew wrote.
  • “Sixty-two percent of voters who describe themselves as ‘nothing in particular’ identify as Democrats or lean Democratic,” Pew wrote.

How atheism leads to elitism

Chumley writes, "And here’s the link to how atheism leads to elitism: Individuals who believe in the power of their own minds truly believe their accomplishments are born of their own greatness. They are enamored with themselves. They expect others to recognize their achievements as born of their own brilliance and bend the knee accordingly. Pride and puffery are their predominant traits. Compare that with individuals who believe their skills and talents and achievements are based on God’s gifts, and that whatever excellence they may achieve in life is due entirely to heavenly grace — and it’s an attitude of humility that these types carry forth, not self-pride."

The more atheists are educated, the more money atheists make, the more wealth and material possessions atheists acquire, the greater their attitudes of superiority grow.

The evidence is clear: When it comes to God and religion, Democrats say — ehh.

Chris Matthews, a former MSNBC news host, went on “Katy Tur Reports” to promote his new book on Robert F. Kennedy and said that a big reason working-class Americans have started voting more for Republicans and supporting President Donald Trump is that the Democrat Party has become too high-brow, too elitist, too overly intellectual — too snobby.

So here’s the MSNBC discussion, beginning with a question from host Tur, as The Hill reported: “How does the Democratic Party, which is trying to talk to working class people again, but are all, you know, highly educated and they live in urban places — how do they bridge that divide, like [Kennedy] did?”

Chumley continues, "Matthews, whose book is titled, 'Lessons from Bobby: Ten Reasons Robert F. Kennedy Still Matters,' said: 'It’s a tough question. I don’t know the whole answer.' He then went on to explain how Pennsylvania just tossed a law that required a college education as a condition of state government employment, and said, 'that’s the first step you can make.' At the same time, he said, “The people who didn’t go to college are voting for Trump. Why? Because the snobbery and attitude.”

Yes. Democrats do have a snobbery and attitude problem — the kind that leads them to call half of America “deplorables” and “Nazis” and “fascists” and more, simply for believing in traditional values and Christian morals and conservative principles and patriotic ideals.

Takeaway

But that “snobbery and attitude” stems from an evil called atheism, and from setting self above God.

If Democrats really want to get back with the people, they need to start by picking up a Bible.

I would add: And if Republicans want to stay in touch with the people, they must continue to hold their Bibles close to their hearts.
