Which Part Of The Bible Should We Believe?

Talking with James Dobson earlier this week, Dr. Ben Carson asked "If the Bible is wrong on gay marriage, then why isn't it wrong on everything else?"

It's understandable that atheists and secularists take every opportunity to undermine the authority of the Bible.

But how can those who claim to be "Christian" square up with the notion that we can "selectively" accept biblical teaching on morality?

The Presbyterian Church, the United Methodist church and other denominations are being torn apart by this and similar issues.

Too many Pastors and political leaders continue to claim a belief in the Bible, yet condition their professed belief by only believing certain parts of it.

How does one chose which part to believe, and which not to believe?

Should the Bible shape the culture, or should the culture shape the Bible?

If the culture should shape the Bible, what then becomes the moral compass for society?

US Military: Bible Camp-"No," Gay Parade-"Yes"

The military has again selectively applied their policy saying "no" to an invitation to meet kids at a summer Bible camp and "yes" to marching in uniform in a gay pride parade.

A local pastor wanted the kids to meet various "rescue groups" and learn how they help and serve people in the community.

All the agencies showed up---except the National Guard. They said it violated "policy."

How can our military justify marching in gay pride parades while standing up a group of kids who admire and look up to them?

One Guardsman said, "It makes me wonder what I'm actually fighting for."

The pastor and the locals are in disbelief. The pastor says, "I don't think most Americans realize how much their religious liberty is in jeopardy."

Terrorist Commander Offers Prayer For Israel and US

Yesterday morning Israel withdrew its forces from Gaza honoring a 72-hour cease-fire. Both Hamas and Israel agreed to the cease-fire late Monday night.

The head of Iran's shadowy Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Qod's Force (Jerusalem Force) has sent a message to all the terrorist operatives in Gaza.

He has also offered a prayer for Israel and the United States.

Governor Mike Huckabee also has a prayer and some strong words on the subject of Israel, the US and why true Christians support Israel.

FBI Now "Rating" News Stories

It was discovered this weekend the Federal Bureau of Investigation plans to hire a contractor to monitor media coverage and grade stories about the agency based on content and tone of coverage.

The stories will be rated as "positive," "neutral" or "negative."

I'm no fan of the news media. I personally think most all are biased and are a useful tool in helping to advance the agenda for the most secular progressive president in the history of our country.

But this, along side all the other revelations about government manipulation, domestic surveillance and the collecting of data on regular American citizens, is a bit much.

Are you comfortable with this? Or is it just me?

Why is the FBI "rating" media coverage of itself? At taxpayer expense.

And what are they going to do with the information they collect on writers and publishers?

Obama: "Muslims Built The Very Fabric Of Our Nation"

Last Sunday, President Obama thanked Muslims for "building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy."

On the same day, ISIS---now called "The Islamic State," released a 30-minute video on YouTube and Liveleak with images of Muslims killing fellow Muslims, shooting them in the head, mass executions, at least 9 crucifixions and drive by random killings.

In both cases, the celebration was Eid-al-Fitr, the final day of the month long fast of Ramadan.

President and Mrs. Obama said in their statement that "'Eid' celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity."

Most Americans understand there are Muslims that are radical terrorists and some who are not.

But it is a bit much for the average American to understand just how Islam "built the very fabric of our nation."

And has Islam "strengthened the core of our democracy?"
