Seattle Public Schools Sponsor GLBT Dinner

The Health Education Office of Seattle Public Schools, along with Superintendent Marie Goodloe-Johnson is inviting the public to join them in their gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender family dinner, Thursday, November 4, from 6 to 8 PM at NOVA/SBOC school on the East side of Capitol Hill. I have linked the invitation.

The dinner is complimentary, underwritten by donations from the community. We would be interested to see the list of donors.

Those attending are told to expect craft tables for younger attendees and greetings from members of the school board and members of the district staff.

They promise it will be well attended and you should make your reservation early.

Would you consider attending this event?

No, we are not promoting it, but asking if several spiritually mature, adult couples from our readers would consider attending. We would ask you to merely observe. This will not be the typical wild, perverted kind of event we all have witnessed through news coverage of the so-called "gay pride parade," rather it will likely be a laid back "fun" family time environment.

The tone will be designed to promote the "normalcy" of the behavior and affirming of those attending or represented.

Prayerfully consider this. It isn't for everyone, but if you feel led to attend, we are asking you to personally contact me by
email and let me know you will plan to attend. I will ask you to identify yourself to me for obvious reasons. We would like you to give us your assessment of the event. I will not disclose your name or any other personal information in sharing your insights with me after the event.

I would like you and others to see first hand the culture and subtleties of what our kids and grandkids face every day in the public classroom---the normalcy attached to gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender sexual behavior.

Thank you for giving this assignment consideration.

  1. So Gary is looking for people to either spy on, or simply disrupt this event. Were someone doing the same thing to one of your events, you'd call it underhanded, sneaky and deceitful. What a class act, seems like you are now taking the tactics of hate group MassResistence.

  2. So Gary seeks spies to aide in his continued misrepresentation and harassment of the LGBT community. The same Gary Randall, who thinks he and his followers have a right to anonymously propose changes to our states laws to harm LGBT families. hypocrisy.

Oh, and BTW, I've already sent Ms. Love an email informing her of your scurrilous activities.

  3. Yes, by all means, attend this event. Get to know these families as people. The best way to break down the walls is to get to know each other. It's time to start building each other up rather than tearing each other down. I do believe that is what Jesus would do.

  4. Gary is not seeking spies or people to disrupt. Christians don't disrupt other peoples meetings. He is simply asking if several couples would attend to observe. The dinner is said to be open to the public. Is it not? What would the sponsors want to hide anyway? The public school gay agenda is quite advanced and open.

  5. Sneaky and deceitful is hardly the way to define Gary's request. Everybody I know reads his blog and some of them are very much opposed to what he believes. I'm certain he knows that. If he was trying to be sneaky would he talk about it on the Internet where thousands of people read what he writes? Give me a break. What's wrong with observing?

"Christians don't disrupt other peoples meetings."

Seriously? I'm pretty sure almost all of the Republicans shouting down everyone else at the Democratic Town Hall meetings over health care were Christians.

  7. Be vigilant, Gary, be vigilant. God bless you.

  8. 12:34 You can't know if people attending Town Hall meetings were Chritians or not. It's a strecth to equate Town Hall meetings, sponsored by an elected official who is supposed to be representing the people who elected him or her and citizens wanting to know what the public schools are doing in regards to gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender behavior. Very, very different.

  9. I would also like to know who is actually paying for this dinner.

  10. I would like to know why the Superintendent is attending this dinner. Does he or she attend all evening functions in all schools every time?

  11. The denialists can deny all they want, but everyone knows that if this were a liberal group planning the same tactics for a conservative dinner (school bible study group perhaps) Gary and every one of his sycophants would call it deceitful, dishonest and label it as spying. They would most certainly call it harassment. After all, Gary pretty much called having to give a deposition in a court case he initiated harassment. Seems he thinks that the courts should grant exceptions to the law based just on his say so.

  12. @10:43,

No, the dinner is NOT open to the public. It is open to staff, students and parents of students in Seattle Public Schools, something Gary distinctly left out of his call for spies to misrepresent the event.

  13. You believe that's what Jesus would do? I believe you need to read more closely his teachings concerning sin and how it is to be treated. See, that's the problem when people who know nothing about Jesus, except what someone told them, start spouting off. Examine the Scriptures & then tell me what HE SAID, I think you may be edified

  14. Please don't bother most of these posters with the truth. It is all around them and they refuse to see or believe it. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that approaching homosexuality was wrong, but the curiosity, the taste of adventure (a polite word) spurred me on. "If it feels good do it." was my generation's philosophy. Forgive me Lord for being part of the problem resulting in what we see today.

Praise God He kept me from falling even though I didn't know or care about Him at the time. I can now look back and see where He was protecting me. Call me an old lady who refused to see the truth while I WANTED TO BE IN CONTROL.

If homosexuals actually attended a Bible class sort of thing and behaved and observed they too would see that Christians love the sinner and hate the sin. But that truth escapes most too.

We have: 1) the parable of the good Samaritan. Samaritans were considered especially vile and sinful and yet they are those who Christian's are supposed to love as their neighbor. 2) Paul said in 1 Corinthians 5 that the failings of pagans are not Christian's concern, 3) exactly what 'sin' are you going to be seeing at this dinner anyway? Please be specific since I presume there will be no sex at the event. (Please let us know if that turns out not to be the case...)
