Abortion = 38% of Income to Planned Parenthood

Blind support for Planned Parenthood, regardless of the truth, is a growing anomaly to many of us.

Planned Parenthood is an organization founded by eugenicist Margaret Sanger, with a legacy of racism and eugenics toward Blacks; an organization repeatedly caught on video performing or advocating illegal acts and one that has consistently told the American public that abortion is only about "3% of our business."

If abortion is so acceptable and appropriate---a right, why must they continuously downplay its importance in their business plan?

Taxpayer dollars? Probably.

An honest look at Planned Parenthood's own reporting shows that they are using a deceptive method of accounting to arrive at the 3% and that abortion is really 38.4% of their business.

Here's a clear look at their business and deceptive reporting model.

Planned Parenthood is using misleading math to get to the 3% they tout as they collect tax dollars. Often from pro-life citizens who strongly disagree with the concept of abortion.

They report that out of 100 services they perform, 3, or 3%, are abortions. The truth is that the cost and income involved is much more than 3% of their efforts.

David Schmidt, a former Boeing intern during his college years, now a spokesman for LIVE ACTION, has researched Planned Parenthood's own reports and found that abortion represents 38.4% of their business. I strongly recommend you read the link above.

This is part of his findings with the links:

This means that fully 38.4% of Planned Parenthood health center income comes directly from aborting unborn children.

  1. Congratulations, you just verified that abortions are expensive compared to everything else they do. You certainly proved that it's financially disproportionate to their overall activity.

However, you did nothing to disprove that abortions are only 3% of PP's actual activity. PP publicizes this number to keep in perspective that for every abortion they perform, they perform 33 other health services for women. 33. They might be smaller than abortion, but they're surely important to the women who can't afford them anywhere else.

This is important when your side tries to defund these other important 33 health services because, unlike abortions, they are tax payer supported.

  2. Actually, if we use Schmidt's figure of 155,506,104 for the total cost of all abortions performed by PP and figure from PPs annual report for the total outlays for medical services at their clinics of $683,700,000, one finds that abortion accounts for only 22.7% of all services by cost at PP. Of course, since abortion is one of the most expensive services PP offers, their 3% of all services rendered seems perfectly reasonable. It does seem that conservative claims that PP is funding abortion through government funds are resoundingly debunked by this data.

  3. I believe that abortion for convenience
is wrong. My problem with pro life is extremism. The abortion decision is not a black and white issue.
There are many factors that enter in this decision, health , age, mental and emotional maturity and the fetus' condition.

This extremism is so over the top that if a woman ,a mother , a wife , finds that she has cancer and is pregnant
and cannot get treatment while pregnant she will chose to die rather than abort the pregnancy. The family loses a mother and her influence and a husband loses a companion (a life partner).

Promoting this situation is extreme and wrong.
the priority is the living, the marriage vows and then the unborn.

  4. The problem is that the anti-choice groups are trying to shut down all the good things that Planned Parenthood does to get at their abortion side.

That's like trying to shut down NBC completely because you don't like that playboy show that Gary writes about.
