Department of ED Assaults Kids---Undermines Parents

How would you feel if your 10 or 11 year old was given, in a co-ed, sex-ed class "Risk" cards that define and rate the risk of various sexual activities including, "Intercourse using a condom and an oil based lubricant, mutual masturbation, french kissing, oral sex and anal sex?

And teens are referred to resources at the Columbia University's website "Go Ask Alice," which explains and explores topics like "doggie style" and other positions, "sadomasochistic sex play, phone sex, oral sex with braces, fetishes, porn stars, vibrators and bestiality?"

The workbooks are printed and will be in some classrooms next spring.

Here are the details.

The New York Post has obtained workbooks and their review concluded that, "Parents may be shocked by parts of the Department of Education's 'recommended' curriculum."

The curriculum is scheduled in New York city classrooms this coming spring.

The DOE says the workbooks fit nicely into the "Healthsmart and Reducing The Risk" program and highly recommend it.

New York City isn't Seattle---or Spokane or Tacoma, or your town, but this is a snapshot of where public education is today. How very debased, morally bankrupt and the degree of insensitivity toward parents existing in public ed today. It has been hijacked.

And it is deceptive.

In its quagmire of purveying perversion and immorality, the DOE stressed, yes stressed, to NBC News "that abstinence is the best way to avoid pregnancy and STD/HIV." All with a straight face.

Hypocrisy.

More hypocrisy.

They also say parents have opportunity to exclude or op-out their children. However on closer look, the op-out is very insignificant and only applies to the lessons on "methods of prevention." Birth control and condoms.

This is not only a moral assault on kids, but an assault on parental rights as well.

NBC News reported yesterday that, "In August, Deputy Mayor Linda Gibbs commended the return of mandatory sex-ed, saying the DOE wants to give students the correct information about sexual activity if they choose to engage in it."

Correct information?

If they choose...? They are being led into perversion by indoctrination, while parental rights are marginalized.

Dr. Robert P. George, professor of politics at Princeton and Melissa Moschella, a doctoral candidate in political theory at Princeton, wrote an op-ed piece in the New York Times on this issue asking, "Does Sex Ed Undermine Parental Rights?"

George writes, "Beyond rival moral visions, the new policy raises a deeper issue: Should the government force parents---at least those not rich enough to afford private schooling---to send their children to classes that may contradict their moral and religious values on matters of intimacy and personal conduct."

It's an excellent column. I strongly recommend you read it.

Dr. George asks how would you feel if, in a lesson, your child is "encouraged to disregard what you told him about sex, and to rely instead on teachers and health clinic staff members?"

George believes parental rights must provide a zone of sovereignty, a moral space to teach our children according to our conscience. We brought these kids into this world and we, not the state, are responsible to teach and educate them.

It is, I believe, both abuse and negligence, for government run education to steal a child's innocence and to subject that child to indoctrination under the guise of "correct information."

Deputy Mayor Gibbs, you are wrong. You know children are being indoctrinated in classrooms across the country. The homosexual agenda is being taught as normal, those who disagree are tagged as bigots, abortion is said to be a "right" and every perversion imaginable is treated as acceptable and normal.

This recent cultural "outing" by citizen funded "education" in New York is a snapshot of what other communities can expect in the near future and should serve as a clarion call to all parents.

I am a parent, a grandparent and a very concerned citizen.

We must re-evaluate who is educating our children? What are they being taught? And if it is not satisfactory, do we have the resolve and courage to make the necessary changes?

Is your child's mind being turned from the beliefs you hold and the God you serve and teach in your home?

If so, what are you going to do about it?

Your child is a gift from God. You are responsible for the stewardship of raising up that gift.

Public Education, Entertainment and so-called news media have beaten too many conservatives and people of faith into the submission of silence.

Please do 2 things. Give some very serious thought to this matter, And forward this to every parent you know.

May God help us.
