Sabotaging Marriage and Family

On June 26, 2015, 4 activist US Supreme Court Justices joined Justice Anthony Kennedy in discovering a new "right" in the US Constitution.

They declared the more than 5,000 year old institution of marriage to be "redefined."

Their leader's vision to "remake" America made much progress that day.

The White House was bathed in the colors of the activists rainbow flag, while they partied at its gates---and all across America.

But there was another celebration---one that most Americans were not aware of.

For the Communist Party USA, this decision was a stunning victory. Their publican, "People's World"---the successor to the Soviet funded and directed "Daily Worker"---was thrilled with what Kennedy and his 4 colleagues had been able to accomplish.

The long elusive effort to destroy marriage as it has existed from the earliest human records (Genesis) had, in their minds, been vanquished.

Two pieces in the communist "People's World" ran the day before the Supreme Court decision. One was titled, "Today in Pride Month History: Homosexuals in Holocaust first publicly recognized" and the other titled, "Today in LGBT History: Stonewall Inn made historic Landmark."

On June 26, the day of the Court's decision, they ran this: "Three in a row: SCOTUS upholds Marriage Equality, Obamacare, Fair Housing Act."

In fact, the party of the red flag had been waving the rainbow flag for a long time before June 26, 2015.

Dr. Paul Kengor, a political science professor and long time observer of culture, says, "The two flags are, in limited but meaningful ways, fighting for certain shared objectives."

"For today's communists," he says, "the LGBT agenda, especially on marriage, is the hammer and sickle to take down the natural, traditional, biblical, Western/Judeo-Christian model for marriage and family that they have long despised."

I have identified 3 things I believe every American conservative and every Christian should know about the effort to sabotage marriage and family.

I have drawn from both Dr. Paul Kengor's new book, "Takedown: From Communists To Progressives, How the Left Has Sabotaged Family and Marriage" and from my own research.

1.The History of Subverting Family and Religion

Marx once wrote to his colleague Engels, whom together wrote the Communist Manifesto, "Blessed is he who has no family." While that is characterized by some progressives as jest, the thinking is found throughout the writing and teaching of Marx, Engels, and those who would follow them.

From the 1800s to the 1960s, the conversation of the communists was centered around the "abolition of the family" originally proposed by Marx and carried forward by secular progressives.

Communist and socialist ideologies are not necessarily committed to so-called "same-sex marriage", but they see the abolition of traditional marriage and family as the most sure way to destroy Western civilization---which is their primary goal.

A part of the destructive deception is that the Barack Obamas, Hillary Clintons and Bernie Sanders---and yes, Joe Biden, all who lead or want to lead our country, characterize themselves as "more pro-family and marriage" because of their inclusive beliefs---beliefs that are in fact undermining American culture because they are "not" pro-family and marriage.

This is a modern version of the "Trojan Horse." But it didn't happen overnight.

When economic Marxism failed in Europe, the students of Marx and Engels regrouped forming the Frankfurt School which changed the focus from economic Marxism to Cultural Marxism, and began what they called, "The long march through America's institutions."

Included in that march was a diverse group, including Lenin and Trotsky, to Margaret Sanger and Betty Friedan, to the radicals of the 1960s Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn---both friends of Barack Obama, who launched his political career at a fundraiser in their home.

So same-sex "marriage" is a communist plot?

Not at all. It simply became the most useful tool to "remake" American culture.

And it became the most powerful tool in attacking what the secular progressives hate most.

Religion. Especially biblical Christianity.

It took awhile, but those who seek to "remake" America and our culture were patient, diligent and ultimately successful to this point.

Their long march through our institutions, including education, entertainment and now even the church, planted seeds of a new kind of Freudian-based Marxism that obliterated traditional-religious understandings of sexuality, gender, marriage, and family---and put the focus on "me" and what "I" want.

Under a fraudulent banner of "tolerance" and "equality" they deceived an apathetic citizenry. And a slumbering uninformed church. And a self absorbed generation.

Who wants to be labeled as "intolerant" or "unfair?" Who wants to be called a bigot?

The ideological history must matter if we are to understand the historical cultural shift.

2. The Historical Cultural Shift

I recall people asking on June 27, the day after the Court's ruling, "How did this happen?"

People did not rise up one day on the 26th of June 2015 and decided to dispense with the sacred and natural character of the male-female union called marriage. A model that has served our parents, our grandparents, our great grandparents, our great, great grandparents, ect., back to Creation.

Nor did we wake up and decide that marriage and family should be redefined, because "people have a right to marry whom they love."

There was a long and calculated process of indoctrination.

One source of clear commonality from Marx to present is this: Modern day progressivism and the Democratic Party that represents it have become increasingly secular, often anti-religious and dismissive of traditional marriage and family---and certainly dismissive of traditional biblical beliefs regarding morality.

The commonality is found in people from all walks of life, and all come to the same point from very different places.

Let's imagine 4 different people who all support redefining marriage, yet come from very different ideological motivations: The hardcore cultural Marxist professor at the university, the non-political soccer mom on Facebook, the homosexual Episcopal pastor, and the person who watches sitcoms on TV every night.

These 4 likely hold very little in common in their ideologies, but they all share one crucial component: Each of them rejects the idea that there is a single, absolute, standard for male-female marriage ordained by nature and nature's God.

They do not believe there are absolutes, nor do they believe in absolute Truth.

Truth is relative. Each person must decide what their truth is. And "truth" is always evolving.

Therefore each believes that they have the right to abolish any standard or belief that conflicts with their relative truth and definitions.

3. Conclusion

Politics and policies cannot change this. Yet we must work and pray to elect the very best leaders.

The radical and progressive left could have never come to this place regarding marriage and family without an apathetic public.

The same-sex "marriage" supporting public has been the indispensable servant to the radical left's ability to sabotage marriage and family.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Faithful. Be Prayerful.
