What's Going On In Twin Falls Idaho?

Twin Falls has moved into the national news spotlight.

A local group of citizens say a group of Syrian refugees gang-raped a 5-year-old girl at knifepoint on June 2nd.

Authorities are denying those allegations, but are unwilling to tell the public what actually happened.

Monday, Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs said, "There are no Syrians involved, there was no knife, there was no gang-rape.

However, 2 of the 3 boys identified have now, nearly a month later, been arrested.

Monday night's City Council meeting was explosive.

What's going on in Twin Falls?

The Idaho Statesman says, "The City Council should have better handled reports of a young girl, who was sexually assaulted by boys at a Twin Falls apartment complex earlier this month."

A crowd packed the chambers Monday evening to hear Chief of Police Craig Kingsbury give a briefing about the incident.

Twin Falls has been designated as a federal depository for refugees, including those from Syria, which has caused concern among the residents.

Kingsbury told the crowd of local citizens that the incident did not involve Syrian refugees, however, "two boys from Middle Eastern immigrant families" are in custody---10 and 14 years old---accused of a sexual assault on a 5-year-old girl.

While this story had been brewing since the 2nd, it blew up this week when the 2 boys were taken into custody and the authorities sealed the case.

Why did the local authorities take nearly a month to act on this matter?

Davis Odell told the City Council Monday evening, "We need to know what's going on."

The 2 boys are from Middle Eastern immigrant families, but authorities say this whole matter is being driven by anti-Islamic blogs that are incorrectly reporting that the boys are Syrian.

Vicky Davis told the Council, "The nation of Islam has declared global jihad on us. And Obama, this administration, is bringing them in as fast as he possibly can."

Terrence Edwards passed out copies of the Constitution, telling the Council members they should read it while Julie Ruf criticized Councilman Chris Talkington for kind-of equating her sentiments to white supremacists during the Council meeting a week earlier.

Eric Odell said he had many Muslims working under him when he was a boss at the Chobani plant---saying "most were great people," however, he said, "A few were evil or frightening."

While local authorities seem to be trying to play down the incident, telling the public the fear is being driven by conspiracy-oriented blogs like Dr. Rich Swier, Refugee Resettlement Watch, Creeping Sharia and Info Wars, the local citizens still are not clear as to why authorities are not being more transparent---more forthcoming with them

This incident has rekindled the debate in Twin Falls over refugees, security, culture and religion---and it has divided local authorities against the citizens.

What exactly happened and who did it remains to be revealed.

However, the comments by the Idaho Office for Refugees sounds very much like that of President Obama: "They're [the refugees] now resettled here. They're moving on with their lives."

The message from the government is apparently, "They've moved on and so should you."

But the lingering concern is that all of them have not "moved on," nor do they intend to assimilate into America's culture---and some have a mission and a higher calling.

Yesterday, Fox News published an excellent overview of newly obtained congressional data which shows hundreds of terror plots that have been stopped in the US since 9/11---mostly involving foreign-born suspects, including refugees.

I would strongly suggest you spend a few moments reviewing the Fox article linked above. It contains an overview with charts that clearly define the terror problem as it is developing, based on facts, not conspiracy.

Fox says, "These data make clear that the United States not only lacks the ability to properly screen individuals prior to their arrival, but also that our nation has an unprecedented assimilation problem," a message Sen. Jeff Sessions and Sen. Ted Cruz told the Obama administration in a June 14 letter obtained by Fox.

Fox says these files are sure to inflame the debate over the Obama administration's push to admit thousands more refugees from Syria and elsewhere.

The files also give fresh insight into the true scope of the terror threat and cover a wide range of cases, including:

  • A Seattle man plotting to attack a US military facility.
  • An Atlantic City man using his "Revolution Muslim" site to encourage confrontations with US Jewish leaders "at their homes."
  • An Iraq refugee arrested in January, accused of traveling to Syria to "take up arms" with terror groups.

While the terror attack in Orlando was the deadliest since 9/11, this data shows America has been facing a steady stream of plots.

Sen. Jeff Sessions a Congressional leader in homeland security, says this administration "refuses to give out the information necessary to establish a sound policy that protects Americans from terrorists."

What's happen in Twin Falls is a reflection of what is happening in America.

The terror potential is real and more present than this president and his administration will tell the public. Not only will the present leadership not name the terrorists, they refuse to reveal them if possible.

Obama is relentlessly scrubbing information from reports that implicate people from Muslim countries.

The data in the Fox story shows that many of the terrorists who have been foiled by the FBI and other agencies have been the result of citizen tips that have led to the apprehension of terrorists.

About half of the federal counter-terror convictions have come from sting operations where the informant played a role in the plot.

The folks in Twin Falls Monday evening told their City Council they felt as though they are being treated with little or no respect and concern by the officials.

They said they feel they are being met by rudeness and sarcasm when they express their concerns.

That is an echo of what is being heard across this land, as President Obama, his policies, the secular progressives and the religious Left with their unbiblical teaching, continue to divide the country while putting it at grave risk.
