This weekend Portland erupted in violence, forcing the police to declare "riot" conditions.
KING 5 and Q13 Seattle Television stations both reported that Seattle Police are leaving their jobs in mass.
High profile celebrities, some elected officials, thousands of uninformed young people are demanding "no-borders, no-guns, no laws"---while advocating for Bernie Sanders' style socialism.
In the past several decades the Courts have been stacked with far Left, agenda driven judges, while the Supreme Court has re-written long-standing policies, including finding constitutional "rights" to redefine marriage and kill unwanted unborn children.
All resulting in a true cultural clash, which is now boiling over in the streets of our communities.
Is this the death or resurrection of America?
What some are calling a "mass exodus" of 41 officers from the Seattle Police Department has occurred in the first 5 months of this year---all because of the city's ultra-Left politics.
Seattle Police Guild Vice President Rich O'Neill said the exodus from the Northwest's largest city is unprecedented.
He told Seattle's Q13 Fox News, "I have never seen the number of officers who are leaving---and the way they are leaving. I've never seen anything like this in my life."
Seattle King 5 News reports that "Council members Mike Obrien and Kshama Sawant [a socialist] are calling officers 'murders' before the investigation," while the city pays for Sawant's legal fees when sued.
Both national news and local news reported on the riot in Portland this weekend.
"Portland, Oregon, revoked a permit for a pro-American march and declared the scene a riot when counter-protesters erupted in violence on Saturday," they reported.
Local news said, "Officers in riot gear deployed flash-bang grenades and sprayed tear gas to break up the dueling crowds as protesters launched fireworks and threw eggs, bottles and other items at each other."
The news media reports that the Rose City Antifa held a counter-rally to the Patriot Prayer organization's scheduled, permitted rally called, "Freedom and Courage Rally" on Saturday. The Antifa rally was a counter, non-permitted rally against the Patriot Prayer group that they called "Defend PDX: Patriot Prayer's Violence Must End" rally.
Police waded in, revoked the permit of the Patriot Prayer group, and began clearing the area.
Interestingly, Joey Gibson, the leader of the Patriot Prayer group which is based in Vancouver, WA., is also a candidate for the US Senate for Washington State.
The Oregonian reported that the Antifa group is clearly seen in their video "throwing objects at the Patriot Prayer group before both sides erupted."
These kinds of local disputes are erupting across the nation with primarily younger people, protesting against God, Christianity, the sanctity of life, biblical marriage, guns, borders, the rule of law, enforcement of laws, our Founding Fathers and their biblical founding principles---while favoring open borders, lawlessness, secularism, hedonism and socialism.
An assault against the very foundations of this nation. More conservative leaning, mostly younger people are reacting.
Our nation will not remain divided. Ultimately one worldview will prevail. A house divided, we are taught, cannot stand. Neither can a house built on the shifting sands of secularism and relativism.
Are we witnessing the death, or the resurrection of America as it was intended to be?
A glance at current events, one might say "the death"---"not the resurrection."
The path that got us here is the long slow march of cultural Marxism through our institutions. I've written often about it in this Faith and Freedom Daily column.
In recent years public classrooms have become laboratories of social indoctrination rather than centers of education.
The entertainment industry has "normalized" the message taught in the classroom, while far Left politicians have popularized it as "progressive," and the judicial community has legalized it by judicial fiat.
Peter Heck wrote this weekend, "The courts have struck down duly enacted laws, re-written long-standing legislation, ignored centuries of precedent, and have codified their pet policy objectives through legal imposition."
In his article titled, "Vindicated: This is Exactly Why Christians Overwhelmingly Supported Trump", Heck explains that although Christians do not affirm Trump's past lifestyle, they took a risk, voted for him, and are beginning to see the vindication in his nominees to the Supreme Court.
Candidate Trump published a list of people from which he would nominate Supreme Court Justices. He kept his word in the case of Neil Gorsuch, and now appears poised to keep his word again in the case of a replacement for retiring Justice Kennedy.
Over the weekend, President Trump said he intends to name his nominee on Monday, July 9.
Heck says if Trump keeps his word again, "anyone who says they can't understand how a man like him can enjoy Christian support is being dishonest."
Is the Supreme Court that big a deal? It is. As are the hundreds of courts across the land in which Trump either will or already has appointed a judge, using the same guidelines as those he's using for the Supreme Court.
Many current Cabinet positions are held by biblical Christians. Carson, DeVos, Pompeo, and many others.
No one can honestly dispute that our nation is deeply divided. I have often written in this column that I personally believe we are now more divided than at any time since the Civil War.
Then and now the division was, and is, around a moral issue.
Dinesh D'Sousa and Academy Award winning producer Gerald R. Molen have produced a motion picture titled, "Death of A Nation" which will begin to appear in theaters on August 3, 2018.
In it D'Sousa explores the division in our nation at the time of the Civil War. He explores the hatred toward Abraham Lincoln and the efforts to detour his agenda and bring down his presidency.
He finds a significant parallel between the presidency and times of Lincoln and the presidency and times of Trump.

I believe we can. Here's why?
Second Chronicles 7:14 is often quoted and often referenced by Christians who care about and love this exceptional nation. This Scripture has been the consistent fervent prayer of millions of biblical Christians in recent years.
Most of us can quote it from memory---but take a another look.
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Millions of biblical Christians regularly pray and act on the conditions of this promise. God does not say "if all" people, but " if My people"---and He doesn't say if "all My people." How many biblical Christians humbling ourselves, turning from our wicked ways in God's power and grace would qualify God healing our land?
Who can know? But consider this---especially those of you who feel it is too late to save America:
In Genesis 18, Abraham asks God not to destroy Sodom if he can find 50 righteous people. When they can't be found, Abraham eventually asks God, "What if only ten can be found there?"
God responds to him saying, "For the sake of ten I will not destroy it."
God is Faithful to His Word. He answers prayer. For the sake of how many humbling themselves and turning from their wicked ways and praying and seeking His face will He forgive the sin and heal the land?
Pray for America, expect a resurrection---a spiritual renewal that will lead to a cultural and political renewal.
