The Lie Regarding "Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria"

Earlier this month the New York Times featured an op-ed that took a swipe at parents---especially conservative, Christian parents---who seek to "undermine the gender transitions of young people."

The article attacked a relatively new diagnosis called, "Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria," (ROGD) calling it a lie.

The lie is that "ROGD is a lie."

It isn't. ROGD is a true condition being perpetrated on our sons and daughters by the far Left secular progressives in education and sexually confused adults. So-called "progressive" activists.

Heads up parents, grandparents and pastors. This is not a marginal issue. It's in your town.

Be informed.

In the article published by the New York Times contributing opinion writer, professor at Barnard College, author, activist and transgender mother, Jennifer Finney Boylan, took a major swipe at anyone--parents, grandparents, pastors, Christians, conservatives...whomever, who do not embrace the gender dysphoria narrative being foisted on our children as normal.

In the article, she claims that the relatively new diagnosis, "Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria," which says that the notion that gender transitioning is "a product of social pressure" is a "spurious term" and a "bogus new diagnosis."

She says, "It's not a clinical term" but a "political one."

When Kenneth Zucker, a psychologist and sexologist with over 40 years clinical and research experience in the area of childhood gender dysphoria, wrote a letter to the New York Times rebutting what Boylan had written, the Times refused to publish it.

Media is trying to silence science and research that disagrees with their progressive worldview.

Dr. Zucker is well known in his field and his approach is "informed by decades of case-by-case clinical practice and a small but substantial body of research that he has found suggests that over two-thirds of children with gender dysphoria will realign with their sex by the end of adolescence if they have not been exposed to transition-based treatments."

Johns Hopkins University research has found the same results.

He says "I see these youth all the time in my clinical practice. Rather than trying to shut down continued exploration of the subjective experience of these youth"---he suggests there should be "more" not less study of Rapid On-Set Gender Dysphoria.

What exactly is ROGD? And why should parents and other responsible people be kept in the dark?

Steve Jordahl wrote this:
"Parents of teens who have suddenly decided to change their gender are discovering there's an army of cultural, social, medical, and even religious forces that that are keeping them from helping their children."

He says Dr. Michelle Cretella, with the American College of Pediatrics, says ROGD is convincing mostly girls who have never before had problems with their sex to suddenly want to become boys. She says that's what happens when traditional teen angst meets a culture that celebrates sexual confusion.

She says.
"Society is actually separating these kids from their safety nets. It's literally going out after these kids, isolating them, allowing them to self-diagnose, then putting them on this medical pathway."

She says by the time the kids realize that the sex change doesn't deliver on any of the promises society told them it would, it's often too late.

Cretella says of the little girls,
"Now they are stuck with a permanent 5 o'clock shadow, a male shaped Adams apple, a deep voice and they find themselves infertile and without breasts--- They are angry and permanently scarred."

Rapid On-Set Gender Dysphoria is a condition being created by cultural pressure to explore our personal sexuality, and the pressure begins in kindergarten through college.

Activists are actually stealing the children of parents and families who hold traditional biblical beliefs.

Professor Boylan begins her NYT article with this:
"At the end of a long weekend when my daughter came out as transgender, she headed back to her car with her girlfriend. I watched them from my apartment window as they packed up. My child looked up, and waved."

Boylan then describes her tears and emotions and thoughts that she would never see her daughter again---she says although she too is transgender and had been through all this when she told her own 80-year old Republican, evangelical mother, she still was shedding tears.

Then she writes, "But that was a bunch of malarkey" proceeding to tell parents everywhere, everything is going to be just fine while attacking the idea that society and social pressure has nothing to do with gender dysphoria and it's "in" status among kids.

She concludes with this: "When my child raised a hand to wave at me, my first thought was that my son was saying good-bye. I was wrong."

"It was my daughter saying hello."

This is the face of deception.

There is a powerful presentation of Truth in Deuteronomy 6:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

God's Word then directs us to "do good"--"do what is right"---practice what we preach---live out Christianity in front of our kids---and later, sometimes much later, your children will ask what the Lord's testimonies and statutes mean.

Then we will tell them v21: "We were slaves...and the Lord brought us out...with a mighty hand."

I once was lost, but now I'm found, was blind but now I see. God's grace is amazing.

God is good. God is faithful. God is able.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Faithful. Be Prayerful.
