Thank you for your willingness to distribute flyers for the Referendum 71/SB 5688 campaign. If you have contacted me and I have not been in touch with you, we will be soon. If you have not done so, but would be willing to help with the distribution, please email me. Be sure to include a contact number and the town or city where you live.

There continues to be some confusion regarding how to vote on R-71/SB 5688. We are voting REJECT. The difficulty seems to be that we were "for" R-71, now we are against it. We were "for" getting R-71 on the ballot, which you did, so we can vote "against" SB 5688.

This is what you will see when you open your ballot:

Referendum Measure 71
Ballot Title

Full Text
The legislature passed Engrossed Second Substitute Senate Bill 5688 concerning rights and responsibilities of state-registered domestic partners and voters have filed a sufficient referendum petition on this bill. This bill would expand the rights, responsibilities, and obligations accorded state-registered same-sex and senior domestic partners to be equivalent to those of married spouses, except that a domestic partnership is not a marriage.

Should this bill be:

[ ] Approved

[ ] Rejected

The Official Ballot Title and the Explanatory Statement were written by the Attorney General as required by law. The Fiscal Impact Statement was written by the Office of Financial Management as required by law. The Secretary of State is not responsible for the content of arguments or statements (WAC 434-381-180).

We are voting REJECTED.

Please forward this information to friends, family and all other contacts. The next 30 days will determine the fate of marriage for the next 30 years. Or more.

Your donation is needed.

Christian Kids Take Public Stand of Faith

Christian Kids will be taking a public stand of their faith tomorrow in public schools across America.

Here's why they're doing it and what you can do for them in just 2 minutes.

Kids across the nation will be going to the "pole"---the flag pole, at their school, to join others of like faith for prayer.

"See You At The Pole" connects kids who are believers in Jesus Christ at the beginning of the school year, so they can stand strong in their faith and be a support to one another throughout the year.

The challenge they have chosen is simple: Engage your school, Engage your community, Engage your world---for His glory.

"See You At The Pole" is actually based from the Old Testament story of a young man named Josiah, who because of his commitment to God, inspired a great spiritual awakening among the people.

It is written of Josiah (2 Kings 22:2), "He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and walked in all the ways of his father, David, not turning aside to the right hand or the left."

Those of us who grew up in a previous generation did not experience the assault on all that is good and right, to the degree that our kids do today. Our kids face pressures today that are difficult for adults to grasp. They are pushed by anti-American, anti-Christian beliefs, with their faith, and that of their parents, challenged in ways we are unable to understand.

Public education, entertainment and a decaying culture brings tremendous pressure on our kids, yet there is an army of kids across this nation who are standing for their personal faith in Christ and the faith of their fathers. Although sometimes ridiculed, they wear purity rings, although mocked, they believe there is a "right" and a "wrong" and the Bible is the basis of that belief. They believe in life, marriage and the family. They believe the Bible is the Word of God.

You can stand with these kids tomorrow, and every day for that matter, by setting aside 2 minutes to pray specifically for them---all of them, wherever they are.

Pray that they will be strengthened in their commitment and desire to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord. Pray that they will have wisdom in discerning the truth in all that is presented to them in class. Pray that they will not be turned away from the Christian faith of those who have preceded them. Pray that they will have an historical and eternal understanding of their faith. Pray that the relevance of their personal faith will be strengthened and revealed to them each day in their circumstances. And for those who may have moved away from the faith, pray that God will turn their hearts toward home and toward the Lord.

May God bless and keep our children.
