Marching To the Beat Of The Secular gods--From Katy Perry, to Pelosi, to Bernie

People love a parade---millions attend parades all over the world. Over the past few days, the secular progressive Left has been strutting their stuff---putting their beliefs on parade.

Singer Katy Perry is telling millions of kids that if they will just hug a terrorist, everything will be okay.

Pelosi told the press that President Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate accord is "dishonoring God."

Bernie Sanders says Russell Vought should not be confirmed as the president's appointment to the Office of Management and Budget because he is a biblical Christian.

And a US Representative (D-Fla.) told the Daily Wire, "My First Amendment right is DIFFERENT from yours."


I took a couple of days off this week but kept an eye on the events. The last few days and weeks have revealed the new lows to which the secular progressive Left will go to get individuals and our country to bow to their progressive gods.

First, a couple of weeks ago:

It's fairly well known that Singer Katy Perry was raised in an evangelical home, many know that Katy's dad is an evangelical pastor and her fans know she has the name "Jesus" tattooed on her underarm.

It is also pretty well known that she has become a near de-facto left-hand girl for Hillary Clinton over the past several years---using her influence to help Hillary get elected to the presidency, and now a lead Trumpeteer in the attempt to destroy the president that actually did get elected ---all this while her mother and father pray for her.

Following the terrorist attack on the Ariana Grande concert in England a few weeks ago, the event was rescheduled as promised with a number of international superstars added to the program. One of the superstars was Katy.

She told the tens of thousands of kids in attendance and millions watching around the world that the answer to the terror attack at the previous concert that left many kids dead and injured, was love.

God's love? "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." kind of love?

No. Because not everyone accepts "that" God.

She explained to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show what she meant: "All we need is love. No barriers, no borders, we all just co-exist. The greatest thing...is to just be united and love on each other."

This could be nothing more than the misled fantasy of a young rebellious girl, except her words influence tens of millions of young kids all over the world. And they act on the deception.

About the same time:

Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.)---she's old enough to know better but she doesn't.---was instructing how the Constitution is a living document and means different things to different people.

Val is both a gun owner and a strong anti-gun crusader.

When Stephen Mercer with the Daily Wire asked her about the fact that her gun was once taken from her unlocked car, and wouldn't it be better to push gun safety and responsible gun ownership than gun control, she responded with this: "Teach me how to be PERFECT Stephen because obviously, you are. My First Amendment right is DIFFERENT than yours."

She is an elected leader in America.

The heartbeat of progressivism: No absolutes, the First Amendment means what you decide it means. The Constitution, in the mind of the progressive, is a living, evolving document---to be bent to the prevailing beliefs of the times.

Sometimes the far Left progressives bring Scripture into their parade to underscore their "truth."

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told the press last week that withdrawing from the Paris Accord on climate is "dishonoring to God."

She said, "The Bible tells us that to minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship."

I suppose it would be a form of worship to a pantheist. The God of the Bible instructs us to "have dominion" over, and practice stewardship toward His Creation. Not worship it.

Paul notes in Romans, that people who worship the created rather than the Creator have desperately lost their way.

These are a few examples of the insanity that wraps itself around the course of human events
in these very trying times.

Bernie Sanders gave us a glimpse the other day of what is really behind the chaos in our culture.

In an exchange with President Trump's nominee for deputy director of the White House Office of Management and Budget Russell Vought, Sanders, on the record, essentially ruled out public service by biblical Christians.

In the hearing, Sanders, the man who almost beat Hillary among the far Left, referenced an article written by nominee Vought for a Christian publication.

Sanders reminded the committee, the press and the nominee that he has stated that Muslims "do not know God because they have rejected Jesus Christ, His Son, and they stand condemned."

Senator Sanders asked Russell Vought, "Do you believe that statement is Islamaphobic?"

Vought replied, "Absolutely not, Senator. I'm a Christian, and I believe in a Christian set of principles based on my faith."

Sanders pressed him repeatedly about whether Muslims were "condemned" and followed by asking if Jews were similarly "condemned" and finally, "Do you think that people who are not Christians are going to be condemned?"

Vought responded that his beliefs are both biblical and orthodox traditional Christian teaching.

He told Senator Sanders, "As a Christian, I believe that all individuals are made in the image of God and are worthy of dignity and respect regardless of their religious beliefs. I believe that as a Christian that's how I should treat all individuals."

After the grilling, Senator Sanders said, "I would simply say, Mr. Chairman, that this nominee is really not someone who this country is supposed to be about. I will vote, 'no.'"

George Washington agrees with Russell Vought... not Bernie Sanders. On August 18, 1790, Washington wrote to the Jewish community in New Port Rhode Island to reassure them they would be both safe and free in America. He said, "Happily the Government of the United States gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no sanctuary...All possess alike liberty of conscience and immunities of citizenship."

He then quoted Micah 4:4, assuring them that, "Everyone shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig tree and there shall be none to make him afraid."

After Lee Duigon, a Christian writer, read the questioning by Sanders of Vought, he wrote, "Those who wish to be God's labor to force the rest of us to exalt them as all wise, infallible, and the one and only source of righteousness. They explicitly deny that there is any truth but whatever they can impose on others. They erase history creating mass amnesia. They invent new pronouns to erase the fact that there are but two sexes. They take words like 'truth,' 'justice' and 'love,' and wrap their meanings to fit with their political agenda. And in the service of yet another idol, 'diversity,', they insist on uniformity of thought."

Knowingly or unknowingly those who embrace the beliefs of secular progressivism, are also embracing the notion that somehow they are "as God" and the evolving beliefs they espouse are the only answer to the chaos in our culture.
