Streisand Blames Trump For School Shooting

Speaking with Hollywood trade magazine "Variety" this week, Barbara Streisand said, "I think even the shooter was affected because Trump brings out the violence in people."

"He embodies the nasty remarks he makes about other people. He's a liar. He's crooked," she added.

When comedian Flip Wilson said in the 1970s, "The Devil made me do it," everybody laughed because they knew it was a joke. Now Hollywood believes it's true---at least selectively.

And no one should be laughing.

Barbara's voice is smooth, her music unlike any other performer, but her rhetoric is coarse and angry.

This week she told Variety Magazine, one of the 2 most influential publications in Hollywood, that President Trump is "a liar," "He's crooked," "He embodies the nasty remarks he makes about other people," and that the shooter at Florida high school last week was "affected by Mr. Trump's election."

The Washington Times says Ms. Streisand has kept in touch with Mrs. Clinton since her 2016 election loss, and she believes election fraud and voting machine tampering contributed to Mr. Trump's win.

Streisand told Variety, "I really believe she won the election. I've talked to senators from Michigan and Wisconsin. I do believe, like I believed during Bush, they were playing with those machines. And [Al Gore] lost by 537 votes out of 104 million. And now, in retrospect, Bush looks quite good compared to Trump. At least he's not mean-spirited. He's not a guy who is retaliating for what Obama did at the White House Correspondence Dinner."

She said, "I think even that shooter was affected because Trump brings out the violence in people. He says. 'It's OK---rally, lock her up," referring to the chant heard by conservatives at Trump rallies.

I'm wondering who, in her mind, brought out the violence in the shooters during the Obama presidency.

"Everything he called Hillary, he is," Streisand says, with no mention of Hillary's secret server in the closet of her home through which she ran our country's classified business---nor did she mention the crooked Uranium One deal that sent hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars to the Clinton foundation, or the secret little meeting of Bill Clinton and then Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the back side of the Phoenix airport while Hillary was being investigated.

So the far-Left philosophy and ideology that permeates public education, Streisand's entertainment industry, and most of the news media had nothing to do with the horrible tragedy at the Florida high school?

Nor was mental illness a factor.

Or local government---multiple agencies that noted the warning signs in the shooter's behavior over a long period of time but did nothing about it, and even the sheriff's office that miserably failed when 4, not one, but 4 officers crouched behind cover outside while the shooter killed the kids inside the school.

Of course Trump is responsible for their actions as well.

In the 1970s, comedian Flip Wilson popularized the phrase, "The Devil made me do it." We all laughed because we all knew the truth. It was a joke. That was what comedians did in the 1970s---they told jokes and made people laugh with the absurd.

Here is a 2-minute clip of Flip Wilson doing his "the devil made me do it" routine on the Ed Sullivan Show on January 11, 1970.

The line--"The devil made me do it"---became the rage all over the country, because we all knew the truth.

He didn't. He can't.

Times have changed since 1970, and so has our culture.

We live in a culture where far-Left secular progressives who claim not to believe in the devil, characterize those with whom they disagree as being "him"---and who breathlessly give credence to the rights of Satanists who claim to worship him, while working tirelessly to silence and punish biblical Christians because we disagree with their secularist beliefs about marriage and the sanctity of life---among other things.

The far-Left secular progressives are both chaotic and confused. Miserably misled.

And so are the Hollywood celebrities.

The Variety story describes the beautiful grounds and the 3 homes of Barbara's compound where she and husband James Brolin, live, entertain and watch movies.

Perhaps she should get out more often.

Rasmussen Reports published a survey yesterday which reveals Americans blame government more than guns for the Florida massacre. And they certainly don't blame Trump.

While 54% of all voting Americans blamed the government agencies who failed to do their jobs, 61% of Americans who vote and have children of elementary or secondary school age think the government is mostly to blame.

And 90% of Americans say they have been paying attention to the news from the Florida shooting. They're informed.

And as for Trump's electability---He has already announced he will be running for a second term. He introduced his new campaign manager yesterday. We'll see.

And a final thought on the devil. The real devil---and the flawed nature of mankind.

In the Garden of Eden, God confronted the first man and woman after they had sinned, and their reaction set the course for an entire race of blame-shifters.

The man said, "The woman whom you gave me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate. Then the Lord God said to the woman, What is this that you've done? And the woman said, 'The serpent deceived me and I ate'."

Adam blamed his wife and God, but ultimately confessed, "I ate."

The woman blamed the serpent, but then confessed, "I ate."

It's always easier to blame someone or something else for failures, including our own. We conjure up the devil, our genetics, our upbringing, and anything or anyone else to whom we feel we can attach blame.

Having eaten the fruit of secularism, this nation which was founded on the eternal principles and values of God Himself, must now resist the devil, and resist the temptation to blame others and take responsibility for our current condition.

Restoration and forgiveness begins, not in Hollywood or DC, but among God's people, who are called by His name.

If we will take responsibility, repent, and turn from our wicked ways, God will hear and answer and heal our land.

If we will stand in the gap and speak the Truth to the culture, our nation will be restored.

If the church cannot resist the temptation (the devil) to remain silent and safe, our country will continue to stumble onward and downward toward the dustbin of history.

And the choice is ours, and ours alone.

Be Informed. Be Bold. Be Faithful. Be Prayerful.
