Should Pregnancy Centers Be Forced to Advertise for Abortions?
The US Supreme Court is set to decide whether a state should be allowed to specifically target pro-life centers.
Oral arguments before the Court are scheduled for next week.
One News Now says, "The issue in National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) v. Becerra is whether the disclosures required by the California Reproductive FACT Act violate the protections set forth in the free speech clause of the First Amendment, applicable to the states through the 14th Amendment."
Alliance Defending Freedom, the organization representing NIFLA, says "the state is forcing them to post pro-abortion signs in order to refer for abortions."
It's not only in California. It's happening in Austin, Texas; Montgomery County, Maryland; Baltimore, Maryland; and New York.
Others will surely follow should the Supreme Court rule in favor of the abortion industry.
The oral arguments before the Supreme Court will be heard next Tuesday---a week from today.
Both abortion advocates and homosexual rights advocates have, in recent years, taken to using the courts and the news media rather than the will of the people to push their agendas which often do not have a majority of support among us citizens who vote.
Let's take a quick look back.
In 1990---28 years ago--- David Shaw, a reporter for the Los Angles Times, wrote an article outlining how the press was complicit with the abortion industry and abortion rights advocates. He noted how journalists were lining up with the abortion industry and shaping even the vernacular used to describe the industry---using words that make people feel good about abortions, like "choice" and "healthcare", etc.
He said, "But it's not surprising that some abortion-rights activists would see journalists as their natural allies. Most major newspapers support abortion rights on their editorial pages, and two major media studies have shown that 80% to 90% of U.S. journalists personally favor abortion rights. Moreover, some reporters participated in a big abortion rights march in Washington last year, and the American Newspaper Guild, the union that represents news and editorial employees at many major papers, has officially endorsed "freedom of choice in abortion decisions."
In 2015, The Atlantic, a secular Left, widely read magazine published a history of how homosexual activists used the Court to "discover" the "constitutional right" of homosexual "marriage."
The article titled, "How Gay Marriage Became a Constitutional Right---The Untold Story of the Improbable Campaign that Finally Tipped the US Supreme Court" was written in celebration, but is a warning to all normal citizens who believe in the will of the people, democracy, voting, etc.
What was once seen as a pathetic display of perversion---people desperately needing help, the so-called "Gay Pride Parades" that will descend on towns and cities across this land in June, have become a badge of courage for aspiring far left politicians and uninformed folks, and an "in-your-face-moment" for the activists.
The courts and the press have been so successful in re-engineering basic morality and natural human sexuality that President Obama saw that it was so good, he declared the entire month of June to be a celebration of homosexual behavior.
And not to be outdone, the abortion activists declared last week, March 5 through 9, a celebration of abortion, with Saturday (March 10) to be "Abortion Provider Appreciation Day."
The instruction to activists across the country was, "Whether you've had an abortion, you've thought about an abortion, or you just love someone who had an abortion, it's important to remember how valuable these health care providers are in our communities."
This was followed by 10 good reasons to appreciate your friendly abortion provider.
The first reason portrays the billion-dollar abortion industry as a kind, self-sacrificing movement of abortionists who help "make sure you're safe from sexual violence and domestic violence at home."
Another reason, they say, is because abortionists respect woman's choices.
No, they don't. Both "reasons" are a lie.
While claiming to respect women's choices---they are petitioning the Supreme Court to force those women who have chosen Life, to be redirected one more time to the great deception of an abortion. And they're trying to force pro-life clinics to carry their water---so to speak.
And finally, some abortionists are using the Bible to "support" their work.
Mississippi State University hosted abortionist, Dr. Willie Parker, on March 1 in a presentation entitled, "Abortion and the Christian Case for Choice."
Although Parker says he doubts that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, he does believe it supports woman's choice and that he "is doing the work of God by performing abortions."
Far Left Representative Nancy Pelosi has also said she believes Planned Parenthood is doing God's work.
So now we learn that among their many deceptions, the abortion industry also claims that God's people, who work tirelessly to preserve life, should also advocate for the billion-dollar abortion complex.
Is this ignorance, arrogance or blindness?
Probably all three. One thing certain, in II Thessalonians Paul warns Christians about "the coming lawless one"...who will work with "power, signs and lying wonders." And Paul tells us of a "strong delusion that will cause people to believe the lie."
We, in our day, are getting a snapshot of what the great deception will look like.
The question is, "Will the US Supreme Court be deceived?"
We'll see.
In the meantime, we, as biblical Christians, are instructed to (ch. 2 verse 15) "stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle."
Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Faithful. Be Prayerful.
