Newt Gingrich told Sean Hannity that the matter of whether the Obama Administration paid people to spy on the Trump campaign "is rapidly becoming the biggest and most sobering political scandal in American history."
Gingrich says he thinks this corruption "reaches all the way to Obama."
The Boston Herald says, "A Democrat Watergate is unfolding before our eyes."
And some thoughts on how to find the truth when it's twisted, blurred and manipulated.
The Justice Department has begun looking into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveyed the Trump campaign for political purposes.
Newt Gingrich, former speaker of the house and historian, says that's a good thing.
He told Sean Hannity, "I think it's rapidly becoming the biggest and most sobering political scandal in American history."
Newt Gingrich says the corruption may reach all the way to Obama.
He told Hannity this:
This is a multi-year effort that has two different fronts. People need to always remember that. One front was protecting, propping up, covering up for Bill and Hillary Clinton. The other front, as Trump became more and more serious, the other front was to stop Trump at any cost.
Now, I believe that the reason you see people like (former Deputy Attorney General) Sally Yates go berserk, you see (former CIA Director) John Brennan go berserk, you see (former Director of National Intelligence) General (James) Clapper go berserk -- they're all guilty. When you see somebody in the Obama team who gets that rattled and is that angry -- what you know is they're scared to death that they're going to get drawn into all this, and their role is going to come out and it will involve, I think, felonies and frankly, I suspect it reaches to President Obama.
It's inconceivable that President Obama could have had this many things going on and not known it, because his administration was very controlling and very tight, and I think we're going to discover all of the stuff, in the end, ends up with the Obama White House and has the president and his senior staff's fingerprints all over it.
The Boston Herald Believes this mess is "bigger than Watergate."
Adriana Cohen, writing for the Boston Herald, said yesterday, "It's no wonder Obama's former CIA chief John Brennan is tweeting like a madman, attacking President Trump, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell."
She says, "Brennan's running scared because it's starting to look like he may have been a co-conspirator in the biggest political scandal since, well Watergate."
If it's confirmed that the Obama administration used US intelligence agencies and the Justice Department to go after political opponents---Cohen says, "Attorney General Jeff Sessions should immediately un-recuse himself from the Russian 'collusion' witch hunt, shut it down and open a criminal into all parties involved."
Cohen says, "It will be the height of irony if it is established that Democrats, who have been screaming Russia, Russia, Russia for the past two years, making Putin out to be the bogeyman, themselves used police state tactics including spying, waging a massive disinformation campaign against Trump and his associates, and other scurrilous actions eerily similar to Communist regimes."
She says, "The Democrats have overplayed their hand and karma is now nipping at their heals."
I don't believe in "karma" but I do know a person reaps what he sows.
The Wall Street Journal's Kimberly Strassel told Hannity the Justice Department "leaked all these details" about an informant in Trump's campaign to "friendly news media sources" so they could get out ahead of this and "spin it the way they wanted to because they knew the noose was tightening."
Truth can be elusive when people are twisting, blurring, and manipulating it. Black and white begins to appear gray---and people struggle between what is right and what is not---light becomes dark, and dark becomes light.
Debbie McDaniel has written an article titled, "5 Ways to Recognize a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing."
The following includes some thoughts from McDaniel and some of my own.
5 ways to recognize a wolf in sheep's clothing.
1. Watch Out.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves."
1 Corth. 16:13 says, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong."
2. Know the real, and you'll know the fake.
1 Cor. 4:5, "He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart."
3. Know God's Word and you'll know when it's being twisted and manipulated.
Satan presents himself as an angel of light, even though he is the prince of darkness. He spins evil as good, and good as evil (Is. 5:20).
One way federal agents are trained to detect counterfeit money is by learning how to spot what is "fake," by understanding first what is "real." Of course, digital technology has provided new ways to analyze currency, but in times past, agents would spend hours and hours knowing and recognizing every part of "real" currency.
When they saw the real thing, they knew it. When they saw the "fake," they may not have known all the reasons it was fake, but they knew it wasn't real.
We can't understand all the nuances of deception and corruption---but the more we know God's Word the more clearly we identify the fake.
4. Trust the discernment and wisdom of God's Spirit living through your life.
"...false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." "...see I have told you beforehand" (Jesus, Matthew 24:24,25).
5. Identify with those of like mind and like faith.
Use caution as to who you listen to. Connect with those who hold the Bible as the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God.
And...
Be informed. Be Discerning. Be Courageous. Be Faithful. Be Prayerful.
