The Fall of Fox News?

This week, after either suspending or dismissing popular, conservative Judge Jeanie Pirro from their program line-up, Fox News announced they have hired former Democratic Party chief Donna Brazile as a political commentator.

Brazile, you may recall, was fired from CNN, not because of her far-Left progressive beliefs---not even because she gave Hillary the questions to a televised debate in advance of the debate.

She got fired for "getting caught" feeding the questions to Hillary in advance of the debate.

What's going on behind the curtain at Fox?

Be informed. Beware.

Associated Press reported yesterday that Donna Brazile had her debut on Fox this week, appearing as a guest/new team member, on a regular Fox show.

Brazile's baggage.

Donna Brazile comes with a lot of baggage.

She was fired by CNN after Wikileaks revealed as part of the thousands of Democrat Party emails they hacked, that Donna Brazile---an on-air employee with CNN, had sent candidate Hillary Clinton the questions that would be asked at the upcoming town hall meeting with Bernie Sanders.

At first, Brazile denied the accusation, but after the election, she admitted that she had, indeed, sent Hillary the information.

She later wrote sending the questions to Hillary was "a mistake I will forever regret."

Would she have felt the same if Hillary were president and she held a high post in her administration?

Fox says to its millions of loyal, conservative---I repeat "conservative" viewers that Brazile will not have anything to do with campaign debates or town halls.

Imagine that.

There's more baggage.

AP says, "On the day she admitted tipping off Hillary, guests on the Fox commentary program, "The Five," lit into her. 'She's as corrupt as the day is long', then-panelist Eric Bolling said."

However, before apologizing, Brazile was still trying to defend her actions. She told Tucker Carlson she had tipped off Hillary because she "didn't want her to be blindsided."

And she said, "You never got a chance to see the things I gave to Bernie or Martin O'Malley."

Sean Hannity, on his program, said:
"Now, Wikileaks---they exposed rampant collusion between the media , and of course, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. We now know that interim DNC chair Donna Brazile from the Clinton campaign gave them multiple debate questions. That's called cheating!"

Remember Megyn Kelly? She was at Fox--- then left to join NBC where she could express her true feelings about her liberal views---then was fired by NBC.

While still at Fox, Megyn interviewed Donna before she confessed. While still in her period of denial, Donna reacted to Kelly's questioning. She said, "As a Christian woman, I understand persecution, but I will not sit here and be persecuted because your information is totally false."

Why would Fox do this?

Donna Brazile gave her version of why Fox hired her. She said:

"There's an audience on Fox News that doesn't hear enough from Democrats. You can be d*** sure that I'm going to be me on Fox News. I'm going to do what I always do."

Yeah, most of us know she'll do what she always does. Why would I, a conservative, care to hear her view rather than those of Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson or Laura Ingraham?

And if I really want to hear the far Left view on anything, why would I not go to the proverbial "horse's mouth?"

Most conservatives already know what the Left is saying. We hear it as gospel truth on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, and PBS. And we read it in every newspaper that still prints papers. And the Internet is inundated with the far Left, so-called "progressive" views.

Why Fox?

The Washington Post published an op-ed this week titled, "Donna Brazile and Fox News Need Each Other."

In her interview with WAPO, Brazile further explained why she is allowing Fox to hire her. She says,
"During the Lenten season, I try to give up something that I enjoy and I try something different, and I've decided I'm not going to be a hypocrite...most of all I want to be able, as a Democrat and a Progressive and a liberal to talk to the Fox family, because they're Americans and they care about many of the same issues and concerns I have."

Missionary Brazile wants to reach out to the lost Fox family of conservatives?

There is another component to this. It is well known among people but has not gotten much press.

You may know that Judge Jeanine Pirro, a solid conservative and highly rated Fox show---Justice with Judge Jeanine has been suspended---some believe it will ultimately be canceled---supposedly for comments she made about Muslim Rep, Ilhan Omar regarding her adherence to sharia law.

Fox forced her to apologize, then removed her show last weekend. Some say it will not air this weekend either. We'll see.

Fox's action was allegedly prompted by Bret Baier who host's Fox's "Special Report." It's rumored that Baier instructed one of his producers, Hufsa Kamal, to Tweet a condemnation of Judge Jeanine's comments about Representative Omar. Kamal, has a history of being very anti-conservative and being vocal about it and she is a Muslim.

She Tweeted this:
“@Judge Jeanine can you stop spreading this false narrative that somehow Muslims hate America or women who wear a hijab aren’t American enough?” wrote Hufsa Kamal Khan on Twitter.
“You have Muslims working at the same network you do, including myself," she added. "K thx.”
@JudgeJeanine can you stop spreading this false narrative that somehow Muslims hate America or women who wear a hijab aren’t American enough? You have Muslims working at the same network you do, including myself. K thx.

Inside Fox, it is said Baier is trying to curry favor with the Democrats so he can get himself a job hosting one of the upcoming 2020 election debates.

Additionally, Fox recently placed Jerry Andrews, a far-Left, anti-conservative as Executive Producer of Justice with Judge Jeanine show which aired on Saturday evenings. Most believe that the move was intended to muzzle Judge Jeanine's conservative comments on her popular show.

Shepard Smith, Fox's news anchor, is also said to have had a major role in punishing---maybe destroying, Judge Jeanine's show. Smith, a near-violent voice of opposition to President Trump, is also a homosexual activist---probably unhappy with a number of actions the President has taken to protect biblical Christians.

Judge Jeanine Pirro and her husband are longtime personal friends of Donald Trump and his family.

I rarely agree with anything the Washington Post publishes. However, they conclude that this marriage between Brazile and Fox News is fake.

WAPO says: "It's all a show---a show that thrives on bickering and sound bites that play well on tweeted videos. It's the locus of division and misconception, not healing."

I agree.

It's also stupid on the part of Fox.

Will conservatives continue to watch Fox News?  How will the true conservatives on Fox News react to their employer's new direction?

The Guardian recently published an interesting article asking:

"Is News Corp [parent of Fox News] Heading for a Cultural Change?"

The answer is, "yes." It has already begun.

On May 2, 2017, we wrote an article here on this Faith and Freedom Daily column in which I suggested Fox was changing. Some of our readers disagreed---some strongly. I think we can all agree now. I wish it weren't so, but it is.

I, personally, am going to continue to watch Fox News---but I'm going to do so carefully, selectively and with discernment. There are still some excellent people and programs on Fox News, but it's transformation is well underway.

This is why Fox, or any other "news" source, can never be our ultimate source.

We must always---always look at the daily course of human events in light of Scripture--- What does God say?

God does not change, nor does His Word.

Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful. Be Encouraged.
