"Christians" of Another Faith

When asked by the press this week why Democrats and Republicans can't just resolve their differences, Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded, "It's a chasm, because they do not share our values. They don't believe in science. They don't believe in governance."

As usual, a half-truth spoken with religious fervor.

Christians and conservatives do in fact believe in science and governance, but hopefully do not share her values.

The political "chasm" that Pelosi notes are actually a spiritual one---and it's real.

The Left has become "Christians" of another faith.

Be informed, not misled.

Speaker of the House Pelosi told MSNBC: "Commentators say to me: 'Why can't you resolve your differences?' Because we're miles apart. It's a chasm, because they do not share our values."

Last Sunday Pelosi sent a letter to members of the House asking them to pray---with a copy of the prayer she wanted them to pray, which she called: "A Responsive Prayer for Justice."

The prayer in part said this:

Dear Democratic Colleague,

Pray for those who are hungry Pray harder for those who will not feed them. Pray for those who cannot pay their bills. Pray harder for the wealthy who do not care. Pray for those who are homeless. Pray harder for those who deny them shelter.

Amen. Best regards.

There's more of the same in the "prayer", but you get the idea.

Pelosi's chasm.

Joe Biden.

Bishop Thomas Tobin, head of the Diocese of Providence R.I., called out self-professed "Catholic" Joe Biden on Tuesday evening, following Biden's announcement of Kamala Harris as his running mate.

Bishop Tobin tweeted: "Biden- Harris. First time in a while that the Democratic ticket hasn't had a Catholic on it. Sad."

After seeing a headline in a Catholic newspaper with the phrase "pro-abortion Catholic," Tobin tweeted on MAY 7, "Sorry. That's a contradiction in terms. You can't be a Catholic, at least not an authentic one, and be pro-abortion. Or pro-choice. It's the same thing."

Yet Biden says on his website: "I'm a practicing Catholic. I believe faith is a gift. And the first obligation we all have is 'Love your God, the second one is, Love your neighbor as yourself'."

Following his testimony of "Christian" faith, he lays out his works---his agenda---which includes strong support for abortion (murder) and homosexual "marriage", which according to the Bible is an abomination to God, and a variety of other practices and behaviors that are defined as immoral, disordered and contrary to the Catholic Church.

And he celebrates his public support from Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and the LGBTQ+ community.

And they strongly endorse him.

He tweeted in August 2016: "Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house. Couldn't be happier, two longtime White House staffers, two great guys."

Biden tells America, "I'm a devout Catholic." The Catholic Church tells America, "No he isn't."

The Catholic Church has also called out "devout Catholic" Nancy Pelosi (so have some in her own family) for the same reasons.

Kamala Harris.

Douglass Andrews wrote a very good article for the Patriot Post yesterday that begins with,

"If first impressions were serious ones, Kamala Harris might already be in trouble. In her first speech as Joe Biden's running mate, she came out of the gate with a reckless regard for the truth."

This is a preview of what's to come---and how the media will either make it true by not questioning anything said by Kamala, or affirming whatever is said.

She claimed, "The president's mismanagement of the pandemic has plunged us into the worst economic crises since the Great Depression."

False: The pandemic, and its associated lockdowns, not the president, are responsible for the economic contractions. The great depression, which was not only deep but lasted more than 10 years, cannot be compared.

Actually, the Wall Street editorial board addressed this several weeks ago---noting that the states dragging their feet regarding opening up are all led by politically motivated Democrats.

She blamed Trump for "shuttered schools, and millions of kids who cannot go to school" but it's not Trump's call ultimately. The kids are shut out of school due to opposition from the teacher's union and Democrat leaders working to slow down the recovery until after the election.

There's more. You can read it in the link above.

About her faith.

Interestingly, Senator Harris and Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) argued that Brian Buescher, currently on the US District Court for Nebraska, was unfit to serve on the bench because he is a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic organization. While grilling him, Harris demanded:

"Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman's right to choose when you joined the organization?" That apparently was the ultimate test for the two women.

Harris claims to be devout in her faith, yet, she as Biden, are champions for abortion, the LGBTQ+ agenda, and a host of other far-Left issues.

A speech Harris gave at Atlanta's First Congregational Church on their 150th anniversary in 2017 gives a closer look at her faith and religious beliefs.

It was titled, "Let us have the courage to speak truth."

She spoke about the "current threat to values" and how we must "speak the truth that when Americans demand recognition that their lives matter, or kneel to call attention to injustice, that that is an expression of free speech, protected by our Constitution, and they should not be bullied."

Harris's beliefs are those of the so-called religious, or "Christian Left," with an emphasis on social justice and compassion, rather than personal salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Washington Post describes her as having an "interfaith background that reflects her historic status as the first Black woman and woman of South Asian descent."

The Post says, "Her Hindu mother took her to a Hindu temple to see that all faiths teach us to pursue justice."

Harris now attends services at the Third Baptist Church of San Francisco led by pastor Rev. Amos Brown who defines her as a "spiritual person" a "quintessential scholar" and one who will unite.

That has not been her history.

This morning I'll be talking about the Christian Left and what they actually believe on our daily radio program.

They are "Christians" of another faith.
