Seattle Police Officers: "City is Absolute Joke"

As police officers continue to leave the Seattle Police Department in mass, they are expressing what everyone already knows.

One officer said, "I refuse to work for this socialist city council and their political agenda."

The exit interviews by officers leaving the SPD shine a spotlight on both the discontent and frustration within the agency.

One departing officer said, "This agenda sacrifices the health and well-being of the officers and ultimately will destroy the fabric of this once fine city."

"The agenda" is killing the city.

Marcus Tullius Cicero, the great Roman senator, orator, and historian once said, "To be ignorant of what occurred before you were born is to remain always a child."

It's time to come in from the playground and grow up.

Be informed, not misled.

The exit.

The exit interviews from departing Seattle police officers are stunning, but not surprising.

KOMO TV News says: "Seattle Police Officers who are leaving the department have given scathing responses during their exit reviews."

A spokesperson for the police department wouldn't even return a call to Fox News

The departing officers have decided to retire, if possible, or simply work elsewhere---"But not here."

One officer said, "I refuse to work for this socialist city council and their political agenda. This agenda sacrifices the health and well-being of the officers and ultimately will destroy the fabric of this once fine city."

This after 20 years with SPD.

Another outgoing officer said department morale has been negatively impacted by the "council wanting to defund us and gaining ground. Rioters not being charged even when they assault officers."

Many expressed frustration surrounding the lack of consequences for people committing crimes during the protests/riots---even crimes against the police department employees themselves.

When asked if he might return to the department in the future, a veteran police canine officer with more than 10 years with SPD said bluntly: "I highly doubt it."

He continued:

"You could pay me twice what you're paying me now and I would not work for Seattle under this current mayhem, Marxist collaborations, and lack of government and police leadership."

Jim Fuda, Crimestoppers Director of Law Enforcement Services who works with the SPD, told KOMO "It's ridiculous. Just when you think it can't get more insane, it does."

He said,

"It's an absolute joke and a travesty for the rest of the citizens here in the city, this was once a beautiful city. Our police department is there to protect all of us and because of the cutbacks and the retirements, who's going to protect our public safety?"

Some of the mass of officers leaving SPD are going to work in Everett, Des Moines, Kennewick, and the Pierce County Sheriff's Department---others will be pursuing a different career.

This is not only happening in Seattle, but in each leftist controlled city in our country.

So what are the citizens to do? Buy a gun and hope for the best? Conservatives, for the most part, cannot be elected in these far-Left cities.

It's been said, "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over, each time expecting different results."

It seems the people of "change" can't change.

About the "social agenda" and the "Marxism collaborations."

What's happening in our cities across the country has been repeated again and again in the past.

In response, Seattle has now hired Andre Taylor, a high-profile activist who will become the city's first "Street Czar."

Under the terms of the long term contract of $150,000, Taylor will provide "expertise and support services in de-escalation, community engagement, and alternatives to policing."

Taylor says he came up with the term "Street Czar" after watching President Obama use "czars" for various assignments in his administration.

Not everybody thinks this is the answer, but Sam Read explains,

"This new contract represents an opportunity for the city to contine building partnership with and directly supporting community organizations working to serve Seattle's Black communities."

But Taylor has a different response to those who do not agree with his "Street Czar" project.

He says the reason they don't like it is because of their racism:

"Black people are not normally paid for positions nor their organizations, but white people with the same position are paid and this is an ongoing problem all over this country. White people have been paid for some of the same stuff and nobody has ever said anything about it. But the moment a black man demands respect and you value the work and you want to use my credibility, that should  have some value."

"Me, as a black man, has the right to be paid for my genius..."

It sounds like they're off to an interesting start in replacing policing.

Neither socialism nor Marxism---economic or cultural Marxism---has ever been successful.

Today's far-Left "progressives" advocate both. That's the foundation of the Biden quest for the presidency--- And Jenny Durkan's motivation to be mayor.

"To be ignorant of what happened before you were born, is to remain always a child."

There were a number of reasons why the Roman Empire fell: Government corruption and political instability were the most consequential.

Civil war thrust the empire into chaos, and more than 20 men took the throne in a span of 75 years, usually after the murder of their predecessor. The Praetorian Guard---the emperor's personal bodyguards---assassinated and installed new sovereigns at will, and once even auctioned the spot off to the highest bidder.

The political rot extended to the Roman Senate and ultimately throughout the culture. There was no influence to restrain the rot. Because of the Senate's corruption, they ignored the corruption of the emperors---civic pride waned, while citizens lost trust in their government.

But in the end, the Visigoths breached the walls and sacked the capital---Rome---The Visigoths looted, burned, and pillaged their way through the city, leaving a wake of destruction wherever they went. The plundering continued for days.

A casual look at history reveals Rome was responsible for the fall of Rome. Rome's fall ended the ancient world-- and the Middle Ages were born, along with these "Dark Ages," it brought to an end much of what was "Roman." And the West fell into turmoil.

The takeaway.

The child asks "are we there yet" before the family is out of town on their road trip. And dad answers, "It won't be too much longer."

It's time for grown-up children who have no clue of history, to get off the playground, grow up and understand that "it won't be too much longer" if we continue on the path of the Seattle's and San Francisco's and Portland's of this nation.

God's plan for government is clearly defined in Roman's chapter 13. And elsewhere. Until we get back to the eternal Judeo-Christian values and principles, the chaos in our culture will continue.
