Recently Vice President Kamala Harris was asked by a reporter if she plans to visit the border, given the crisis.
In response, Harris bellowed out with laughter---saying, "Not today. But I have been before, and I'm sure I will again."
Now, a few days later, President Biden has announced he has handed the border crisis to "highly qualified Vice President Harris."
He also announced his own plans for the 2024 election.
Be informed, not misled.
Oh how things can change.
Just a few days ago Harris was "laughing all the way," as if she were going to grandma's house in a one-horse open sleigh.
But Wednesday, everything changed for her, when an ailing and failing President Biden handed her "the border problem."
Why did Biden hand the border issue to Harris?
He said Wednesday,
"I have asked her, the VP today, because she is the most qualified person to do it, to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border."
Continuing, with Harris seated by him, he said:
"I can think of nobody who is better qualified to do this than a former---this woman who ran the second-largest attorney general's office in America, after the United States attorney general, in the state of California."
"When she speaks," he assured us, "she speaks for me, doesn't have to check with me, she knows what she's doing."
"Madame Vice President," Biden continued, "thank you. I gave you a tough job. You're smiling, but there is no one better capable of trying to organize it."
He also noted that when he was vice president, Obama handed him a similar assignment.
So wouldn't that make him the better qualified person?
Human Events noted that "Harris' attitude towards the border went from giggly to grave."
Harris' own party doesn't really have much confidence in her. It was because of her record as California A/G that Democrats didn't even support her in their own Democrat primary, causing her to withdraw from the presidential primaries before California even held their primary election.
The border is in crisis. Everybody knows it. Clearly the Biden policies are not working, so what does one do?
If "one" is a far-left progressive, he attaches his failure to someone else---who in turn blames someone else.
During President Biden's press conference he denied that any of his policies are creating the "challenge" at the border.
Biden also surprised the press and the public by sharing that he plans to run for reelection in 2024.
He said:
"My plan is to run for reelection. That's my expectation." In response to whether he thinks he would be running against Donald Trump---he said "Oh, come on. I have no idea whether there will be a Republican Party. Do you?"
What does Vice President Harris think?
She told CBS that the "current administration did not have enough time to fix the situation---even though they are the ones that ultimately created it---adding, "Look we've been in office less than 100 days. We are addressing it. We are dealing with it."
Takeaway
All this while the Biden administration is still refusing to allow reporters into over crowed detention facilities.
The first few weeks of the Biden administration was spent reversing and demolishing Trump policies---especially regarding the border.
They are already starting to quietly embrace some of them now. They are sending 2.5 million doses of vaccine in order to get Mexico to restrain migrants from crossing the US border.
What Harris will do is anyone's guess, but one thing we can count on---it will be on a dimly lit stage, not out in the light.
And whatever goes wrong will be someone else's fault.
