According to the Obama/Biden administration, the standard for a southern "border crisis" would be 1,000 attempted crossings a day.
Then-Vice President Joe Biden and then-deputy secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas set the standard.
Now President Joe Biden and now secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas are ignoring a catastrophic crisis at our southern border, with as many as 6,000 per day illegally coming to America.
The consequences are significant to all of us.
And the so-called far-left progressives may see a political gain. I'll explain.
Be informed, not misled.
This catastrophic crisis could add another quarter million to the population of illegal aliens in our country in less than a year.
The Obama administration set the standard of what a "crisis" would look like, now they've turned their back on the "crisis" of their own making.
The Border Patrol reported in one day, 4,700 people tried to enter the country illegally---as far as they know, with about 900 observed but not detained. In addition, another 400 were detained and sent back.
The impact on our country is immediate.
This is fueling a public health crisis. One source in the Department of Homeland Security estimates 15% - 25% of people who illegally cross the border are COVID 19 positive. According to a recent press report, asylum-seekers, which President Biden is letting come in record numbers, are testing positive after being released.
According to one report, human traffickers are so overwhelmed with business, they are using wristbands to keep track of all their clients.
This windfall of cash to the human traffickers is flowing to the pockets of the drug cartels and transnational gangs who in turn kill our kids and neighbors who are addicted to the drugs they sell in our communities.
In addition to killing us, the traffickers are killing their clients. The most recent example is the tragic traffic accident that happened in California this week where an SUV collided with a semi-truck, killing 13 of the 25 illegal aliens literally packed like cordwood in the SUV.
The deception.
The Secretary of Homeland Security has said, "There is no crisis."
On camera, when asked by a reporter, President Biden has said, "There is no crisis."
The political manipulation.
This week Texas Governor Greg Abbot issued an Executive Order (GA-34) lifting the mask mandate in Texas and increasing the capacity of all businesses and facilities in the state to 100%.
Gov. Abbot said, "With the medical advancements of vaccines and anti-body therapeutic drugs, Texas now has the tools to protect Texans from the virus. We must now do more to restore livelihoods and normalcy for Texans by opening Texas 100%."
The Governor went to great length to explain that he believes the virus is real, but that Texas has done a long list of things that have caused him to believe that the state can open safely, before the economy---and millions of people's lives-- are furthered destroyed by the coronavirus.
In the Executive Order, he gave specific instructions for hospitals, the medical community, and daily health habits that Texans should adopt in their daily living routines.
He also restricted the legal penalties that far-left judges could impose on people who are not compliant with the left's view.
However, there is one thing the Governor may not be able to plan for: The actions of the far-left Biden administration.
President Biden is calling Gov. Abbot's actions, "Neanderthal thinking."
Wednesday President Biden strongly criticized the decisions of Gov. Abbott and the Mississippi governor who has taken the same actions "a big mistake" and "Neanderthal thinking."
"The last thing we need," Biden said, "is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime, everything's fine, take off your mask and forget it. It's critical, critical, critical, critical that they follow science."
Governor Abbot responded noting that "President Biden is recklessly freeing coronavirus-positive illegal aliens into Texas."
And that's exactly what he's doing in "catastrophic" numbers.
The evidence of the president's failures at the border is overwhelming.
Even NBC News this week admitted that Biden's Department of Homeland Security is releasing border-crossers into the US interior who are then testing positive for the coronavirus. Even after border crossers test positive, they are not required to quarantine.
For example in Brownsville, Texas---way down on the tip of the state--- DHS is sending border-crossers into the community where local health officials then must test them. Regardless of a negative or positive test result, the border-crossers are allowed to continue traveling into the US interior---many heading to Maryland, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Brownsville officials say about 6.3% are testing positive.
America agrees with Gov. Abbot, not President Biden on this matter. A Harvard/Harris poll found that 67% of Americans said border-crossers should be returned to Mexico. Biden recently ended Trump's "Remain in Mexico" policy since taking office. Only 33% agree that they should be released into the US.
If President Biden is not trying to serve the wants, needs, and wishes of the American people, who then is he serving?
The political angle asks, if the President really, really believes that it's "critical, critical, critical, critical that we follow the science," why is he taking actions that conflict with Dr. Fauci and the left's "science."
And why is it the right thing to do in building a wall around our Capitol to protect the politicians who preside there, while dismantling the border security that is designed to protect the rest of us where we live?
The hallmark of secular progressivism is confusion, deception, and evolving values. And arrogance.
And this is what it looks like.
And if Biden allows enough diseased illegal aliens into Texas, he'll be able to tell the Governor, "I told you so"---and continue the deadly, controlling, anti-America first lockdown on our country and our lives.
