Is a "Climate Crisis" Lockdown Coming Soon?

Amid record-setting temperatures across Washington State, Oregon, and the West, local leaders are pointing to the ongoing threat of "climate change."

Washington's Gov. Inslee says we've got to do more than turn up our AC's.

Dr. Jeff Duchin, King County Public Health Officer, says this heat is linked to a much larger crisis, warning this climate change crisis is only projected to worsen.

Some are suggesting another lockdown is needed---a "climate crisis" lockdown. And they have evidence to back up their suggestion.

Be informed, not misled.

Record-setting heat.

The Puget Sound had three consecutive days of 100 degrees for the first time in history. And it was marked by all-time highs in several cities.

The New York Times reported, "It reached 115 degrees in Portland, Ore., on Monday, the second day in a row that the city has broken a heat record. Salem, Ore., and Seattle also set records."

On Monday, Salem was the hottest place in the country at 117 degrees.

On Monday, Seattle also broke a record for the highest temperature ever recorded by the National Weather Service in Seattle at 108 degrees. The previous high was 105 degrees in 2009.

Dr. Duchin warns that this is only the beginning. The "much larger crisis," he warns, is the coming "health and economic consequences."

He isn't alone in his warnings.

WA. Gov. Jay Inslee posted on social media, "Our state is in the middle of a dangerous heat wave, please stay indoors when you can, avoid strenuous activities, stay hydrated and check in with your neighbors."

I'm sure that gave direction to those who had no idea what to do.

Then he posted this: "We cannot just turn up the AC, we have to turn up our efforts to fight the threat that is now intruding on our lives--climate change."

NOAA's Tom Di Liberto agrees saying, "There is plenty of evidence to show that high temperatures and heat waves have become worse due to climate change."

President Biden says "climate change is now the greatest threat to America." It's as great a threat as  "white supremacy."

How might we "turn up our efforts to fight the threat" of climate change?

Selwyn Duke, writing for the New American noted that in "late February, globalist group World Economic Forum posted a tweet with an embedded video proclaiming, incredibly, that 'lockdowns are quietly improving cities around the world'."

The organization continued, "Earth's seismic noise has been the lowest in decades due to lockdowns."

Duke notes that Pres. Biden said in December 2020, "Today, I'm pleased to announce a team that will lead my administration's ambitious plan to address the existential threat of our time, climate change."

Biden continued, "Folks, we're in a crisis just like we need to be a unified nation in response to COVID-19, we need a unified response to climate change, and from this crisis, from these crises, I should say, we need to build back better than we were before."

Duke also notes that Fox News' Tucker Carlson picked up on this, and on his show asked, "What does this mean?"---Directing the question to his guest, Climate Depot founder Marc Morano.

Morano said the climate activists were jealous when COVID lockdowns happened---"They were beside themselves saying how is this happening. Everyone from Greta Thunberg to John Kerry to UN officials is now saying, 'We need to follow' this pattern."

If we can shut down for a virus, we can shut down for climate. And that's beginning to move forward.

There are academics in Australia proposing adding climate change to death certificates, and Bill Gates has said the death toll will be greater than the virus.

Duke says:

"We have an international agency report that came out calling for essentially the same type of lockdowns, everything from restrictions on your thermostat to restrictions of your moving. You know, you can only fly in a climate emergency when it's quote 'morally justifiable'. You know, kind of like a lockdown, you have to justify going to the store for essential services."

And Morano told Tucker Carlson that "Chuck Schumer is urging Biden to declare a national climate emergency; just like a blue state governor, he could have emergency powers."

In reality, the danger lies not in the threat posed by climate change, but in the proposed solutions. This would be true even if the "man-caused" global-warming thesis were valid.

Is climate change/ global warming really man-caused?

The Washington Post was quick to strongly suggest the 12-story condominium tower that crashed down last Thursday near Miami "may be" the effects of climate change. They noted that "the 159 people missing as of Friday" may be linked to "sea level change and climate change... But it is clear that South Florida has been on the front lines of sea-level rise and the effects of climate change on infrastructure in that region."

Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr. at the University of  Colorado Boulder has done an extensively peer-reviewed paper titled, "Economic 'Normalization' of Disaster Losses 1998-2020: A Literature Review and Assessment."

In it he includes 54 normalization studies published between 1998 and 2020 and finds "there is little evidence to support claims that any part of the overall increase in global economic losses documented on climate time scales can be attributed to human-caused changes in climate, reinforcing conclusions of recent assessments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change."

On March 20, 2019, Associated Press announced in a headline: "Heat Records Falling Twice as Fast as Cold Ones, AP Finds.

AP claimed to have looked at 424 weather stations throughout the lower 48 states that had consistent temperature records since 1920. They concluded that two warm records were set for every cold record that was set.

They lied. The frequency of hot days has plummeted in the US over the past century. Look at the actual charts for those years in the link above.

Exploiting a good crisis.

It was Machiavelli who first said, "never waste the opportunity offered by a good crisis." Since then everyone from Thomas Jefferson to Winston Churchill to Obama has used it and often gotten credit for being the first to use it.

Facts are funny things.

The fact is that God Himself instructed man, whom He created in His Image and Likeness, to subdue the earth and have dominion over the rest of creation (Genesis 1:26-28).

Mankind has become so self-centered and self-absorbed and dismissive of God that he has come to believe he "is" god. And when people begin to act like God and they are not God, things never end well.

The Left sees every crisis as an opportunity to advance its causes.

There have been weather anomalies since the earliest recorded biblical times. I have no doubt they will continue. God created man to worship Him, not His Creation. Being responsible to manage the earth is not being subservient to some eastern idea of embracing it as your "Mother."

Neither does God's instructions call us to allow crooked politicians to use a string of hot days to "reset" our culture and deconstruct our country while forcing the largest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind.

Focus on this: "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein" (Psalm 24:1).

God is in control.
