One week after DC Comics' decision to make the new Superman bisexual, his creators have now announced the "Man of Steel" is no longer fighting for "truth, justice, and the American way."
"He's now standing for truth, justice, and a better tomorrow," they say.
Who cares what the fictional Superman thinks or does?
George Barna, America's foremost Christian survey and polling expert, is telling America to be beware, and be informed regarding the entertainment industry.
He says, "Movies, television, music, and other forms of media have a larger impact on a child's worldview than even public school does.
Heads up, parents and grandparents. And all concerned Christians.
Be informed, not misled.
After over 80 years of standing for "truth, justice, and the American way," Superman will now be standing for "truth, justice, and a Better Tomorrow" because this better aligns with the storyline we are telling globally, the Chief Creative Officer and Publisher of DC Comics, Jim Lee, explains.
Lee says, "Superman has long been a symbol of hope who inspires people from around the world, and it is that optimism and hope that powers him forward with this new mission statement."
"Superman's new motto will be seen in future comic books, film, TV, and video games," the company says.
This news comes just after DC Comics announced the new Superman, Jonathan Kent---son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane---is bisexual.
Parents are becoming concerned. And angry.
Yesterday Northern Virginia parents held a protest in front of the US Justice Department in Washington DC.
They are reacting to Attorney General Merrick Garland directing the FBI to "look into" issues where parents are supposedly causing school board members and administrators to "feel threatened" by their strong opposition to what the schools are teaching their children: Specifically critical race theory and the transgender policies.
What triggered these Virginia parents was when news broke Wednesday that in a Louden County, (Virginia) public school district that a student was allegedly raped in a girl's school bathroom by a male student who wore a skirt claiming to be "transgender."
The father of the 13-year-old girl who was raped repeatedly was among the hundreds of parents who were in attendance at the school board meeting trying to tell the school they were opposed to what the school district was teaching their children.
Minutes before canceling the meeting and removing the parents from the room, the school administrators stated that "public concerns about transgender bathrooms were misplaced" and claimed there was no record of any assault occurring in the district's bathrooms.
The county prosecutor, who has very close ties to the school board members, knew about the rape charges. There are no reasons to believe the board did not also know.
The parents became aware that the school board was likely lying to them after the fact---thus the protest yesterday in DC.
I wrote about this last week. The father of the assaulted 13-year-old was among those parents in the meeting. In fact, when he persisted in trying to tell the board about his daughter, they directed the sheriff to arrest the parent.
It's now been learned that the boy pretending to be a girl has also been charged with a second similar assault in a different school.
I have come slowly, thoughtfully, and prayerfully to my current beliefs on the matter of public schools. I personally believe public education, as we know it now, is so miserably failing that Christians should not put their children in that environment of indoctrination and ridicule of those kids and parents who do not go with the flow of the current mission---which is indoctrination, not education.
George Barna agrees but has found that entertainment is even more destructive than public education.
He told a gathering of Christian parents in Leesburg, VA. that children and teenagers today are constantly bombarded by unbiblical messages within the media---and that it's the role of Christian parents to be the "antidote."
Barna says, "By far, the most impactful entity is the media" regarding the development of one's worldview. He defines "the media" as "movies, television, music, video games, the internet and games."
He says, "The media's shaping of a person's worldview continues throughout the teen and adult years."
Barna, who heads the Arizona Christian University's Cultural Research Center, says his studies show that only 6% of Americans hold to a biblical worldview. Most Americans---88%---hold a syncretic worldview that combines elements from multiple belief systems.
"The typical American," he says, "will die possessing the same worldview they had at the age of 13."
He says, "Tragically, only 7% of parents of children under the age of 18 have a biblical worldview."
Barna has also said that "only 19% of all Christians truly possess a biblical worldview."
"So the rest of us who do [have a biblical world view] have to come alongside these children in some way. We've got to look for opportunities to help shape their [worldview]," he says.
Takeaway
Public education is a huge, dysfunctional beast in America undermining what we have come to know as "the American way"---a nation founded and built upon traditional, Judeo-Christian values and principles.
The American entertainment industry's value in 2020 was $720.38 billion. They're the real "superman" in the room, empowered by what John referred to as the "spirit of anti-Christ" when he instructed us that the "spirit of anti-Christ is already among us."
President Biden is no "superman" but he and his administration do reflect the new mission of the comic character. "Build Back Better." Rebuild our country---not in the image of our God-fearing Founders, but in the godless, narcissistic image of the so-called "progressive" left.
Barack Obama called it "remaking America." It's the same worldview.
In 2011 the comic book industry took a dive in sales. There are several reasons, they say, for this. One of the reasons quoted (scroll down to "the facts will tell you") is that the DC Comic executives lied---misled the readers of Superman with a trick addition titled, "Death of Superman."
The readers became angry and stopped buying and reading Superman.
Now with a "build back better" bisexual Superman, these same execs are hoping to gather a new young generation of readers, whom they can---once again---mislead and destroy before they become angry and walk away.
It is our biblical responsibility to raise children to know, love, and serve God with all their hearts, mind, strength, and soul.
And we can do so by being sure we, personally, hold a biblical worldview.
"A worldview consists of all of your core beliefs, and these core beliefs are critical because then they determine your primary behaviors," Barna says. "Then we help to educate, motivate and activate people to understand and to do the things that really matter to God."
It is with that prayer---to educate, motivate, and activate---that we write this column every weekday and produce our daily, live radio program called, "Straight Talk" with Gary Randall.
Thank you to all who financially support our efforts.
