"Metastasizing Like A Cancer" In Public Schools

A November 17 lawsuit filed by two public-interest law firms is just the latest in a series of cases where schools are accused of initiating social gender transitions of children behind the backs of their parents.

Vernadette Broyles, president and general counsel of the Child and Parent Rights Campaign, says: "This sort of thing is metastasizing like a cancer underneath the surface around the country."

If the abortionist's forceps don't steal the life of the little one--- government-run education is standing by to steal their innocence---and their lives.

The Christmas song "Away In A Manger" comes to mind..."Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay..."

Parents and grandparents---heads up.

Be informed, not misled.

Public schools v Parents.

On November 17, the Alliance Defending Freedom and the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty joined parents to sue a Wisconsin school district.

The school district is said to have concealed information regarding children's gender identity from parents.

A 12-year-old girl was pulled from public school after the district began a "social transition," which the complaint says involves "presenting to others as the opposite sex, primarily by adopting a new name and pronouns," against the parents' express wishes.

The Kettle Moraine School District has a policy, whether written or unwritten, allowing minor students to socially transition to a different gender identity at school without parental consent and even over the parents' objection," the complaint says.

At first, the principal told the parents, after they found out what was going on, that he would have to talk to the school district to determine if respecting their decision so the child could return to school was possible under its policies.

A short time later the principal told the parents "when their daughter returned to school, school staff would refer to her using whatever name and pronouns she wanted while at school, even over her parent's objection."

The complaint also describes how after a few weeks, the daughter "changed her mind about wanting to transition to a male identity, deciding instead that she wanted to continue using her birth name and female pronouns.

Kate Anderson, Director of the ADF Center for Parental Rights, said in a release: "Yet we are seeing more and more school districts across the country not only ignoring parents' concerns, but actively working against them."

"The school policies," she says, "allow the school to encourage students to identify with a gender that is not in accord with their biological sex, then the school under the policy can hide information from parents and even lie to parents about it."

This is one of many cases emerging across the country.

"It's metastasizing like a cancer..."

Vernadette Broyles represents Jeff and January Littlejohn in a suit which alleges that Leon County Schools began helping their daughter transition without their consent after their daughter experienced gender dysphoria during the spring and summer of 2020. Mrs. Littlejohn says she emailed her daughter's math teacher, explaining that they "weren't affirming at home" but that they "didn't feel like we could stop our daughter from using a nickname."

However, a few weeks later, the daughter told her, after being picked up at school, "Mom, I had a meeting today about my name and they asked me which restroom I wanted to use."

The mother says she was very upset and confused. She immediately contacted the school guidance counselor but was called back by the assistant principal, which she thought was odd.

He told the mother that her daughter "is now protected by law under a non-discrimination law, and they could not give me any information, because my daughter, who was 13 at the time, had to be the one to authorize my notification or attendance at the meeting."

The mom said when she first called the school, they refused to even confirm that a meeting had taken place.

We have learned that the California Teachers Association Conference instructed teachers to undermine parents on gender identity and sexual orientation.

To explain why they are usurping parental authority, homosexual rights organizations have drafted a response that a number of schools are using as their own response.

The guide is titled, "LCS Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Gender Nonconforming and Questioning Support Guide."

With a few variations from district to district, the statement says:

Question: A student has exhibited behavior in school leading administrators or teachers to believe the student is LGBTQ+, should parents or legal guardians be notified?

Answer: No. Outing a student, especially to parents, can be very dangerous to the students health and well being. Some students are not able to be out at home because their parents are unaccepting of LGBTQ+ people. As many as 40% of homeless youth are LGBTQ+, many of whom have been rejected by their families for being LGBTQ. Outing students to parents can literally make them homeless."

Broyles says, "This sort of thing is metastasizing like a cancer under the surface around the country."

After being sued, Louden County Schools in Virginia recently agreed not to punish a teacher for refusing to use transgender pronouns, and for not lying to parents.

Takeaway

I cannot overstate the urgency of parents and grandparents with children in public schools to be informed.

The secular, humanist "progressive" left has our children in their sights. And it's all done to "help the child," while they are working tirelessly to lead the child into the destructive den of wolves called "Human Rights."

With Christmas on my mind---as I wrote this, I was reminded of the Christmas song that pierces the darkness of this world in its simplicity and truth:

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,

The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.

The stars in the sky looked down where He lay,

The little Lord Jesus asleep in the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,

But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes.

I love Thee Lord Jesus, look down from the sky

And stay by my cradle 'til morning is nigh.

Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay

Close by me forever, and love me I pray.

Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,

And take us to heaven, to live with Thee there.

May God cover our children with His wings in the hostile cultural environment of our world today---and may He awaken parents to the perils of public schools.

Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Engaged. Be Prayerful.
