Pelosi: "It's Sinful to Restrict Abortion"

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is once again assuming the role of pastor and theologian, proclaiming that "It's sinful...that they would be able to say to women what they think women should be doing with...their bodies."

Nobody would care---I certainly wouldn't, what Nancy thinks or says if she were not Speaker of the House, and second in line to the presidency should the vice president be unable to serve in the absence of the president.

Not only does the left twist and abuse Scripture, but language---words---as well.

Be informed, not misled.

For the leftists and their humanistic worldview, all means are justified because the end is so righteous and noble.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) spoke on Friday---which was "Women's Equality Day"--- at a “reproductive health roundtable discussion” at the University of California at San Francisco where she described efforts to restrict abortion as “sinful.”

“It’s sinful,” she said. “It's wrong that they would be able to say to women what they think women should be doing with their lives and their bodies.”

Pelosi made these remarks after Rep. Jackie Speier (D.-Calif.) discussed what she called “government-mandated pregnancy” and her hope that the United States would be able to “extend medication abortion past ten or eleven weeks.”

Speier continued, "The fact that we have a government now, on a federal level, that is mandating pregnancy—government-mandated pregnancy—flies in the face of every personnel freedom for which our country was founded."

Pelosi responded: "But one word that pervades through all of the discussion was the word of ‘justice.’ The fact that this is such an assault on women of color and women–lower-income families is just sinful. It’s sinful. It's wrong that they would be able to say to women what they think women should be doing with their lives and their bodies. But it's sinful, the injustice of it all...."

Pelosi has a history, much like President Biden, of repeatedly claiming to be a devout Catholic (Christian) while they advance policies that are diametrically opposed to the Bible, God's Word.

About twisting words.

For instance, "reproductive care" is not about reproducing, that is, having babies. It's about abortion or preventing pregnancies.

Robert Knight wrote recently: "'Gender affirming' or 'gender confirming' policies do not verify actual genders. Instead, they deny biology and elevate delusions into enforced falsehoods. They should be called 'gender-denying' policies. Better yet, here are terms used by a Daily Mail medical writer who opposes these experiments on children: 'poison, mutilate and sterilize'."

The "Respect for Marriage Act" is the latest example of the Left's outright lying. The bill, which would repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act, is a full-throated attack on the essence of marriage for thousands of years – its sexual complementarity. It passed the House on July 19 by a vote of 267-157, with all 220 Democrats voting yes.

The bill was introduced as a response to Clarence Thomas' concurring opinion in Dobbs, which overturned Roe v. Wade. Justice Thomas opined that faulty legal reasoning might also be revisited in other landmark cases such as the 2015 ruling legalizing same-sex marriage. This triggered moaning and wailing, along with personal attacks on Thomas and his wife Ginni.

The misnamed "Respect for Marriage Act" is an assault on marriage, sanity, civilization, and religious liberty. It distorts reality, denies biology, and lays the groundwork for punishing people who understand that marriage is the union of male and female. As with the trans craze, it will force people to lie in order to survive in modern society. In a biblical sense, it means bowing to a false idol.

Ironically, the "Respect for Marriage Act" chief sponsor is New York Democrat Jerrold Nadler, who says perverting marriage will establish "equality" and "liberty."

He actually said that. Perverting marriage is a good thing because it establishes equality and liberty.

Twisting words and truth is the oldest seduction known to man.

There was an interesting story coming out of New Jersey yesterday.

A New Jersey religious community that has been in operation since 1869 is rebuilding a beach pier with its boardwalk in the shape of a cross, prompting backlash from the local LGBTQ community.

NJ.com reports the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, a Methodist ministry, is replacing a pier that was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The end of the pier is t-shaped, resembling a cross with north and south-facing wings, similar to a pier at Coney Island.

But because the pier is being built by a conservative Methodist ministry, it has suddenly become a point of fear and bullying.

Douglas Grote, a local retired Presbyterian pastor says, "The local LGBTQ+ community and allies are saying the cross 'crosses a line,' but many are afraid to voice their grievances with the Camp Meeting Association."

He says, "The cross-shaped pier feels like Christian bullying. I am so deeply concerned. And I am so concerned for my neighbors who are scared and bullied."

Shane Martins, a local attorney who is also gay, says "Once this pier is built like a cross, I believe that will be the point of no return. To say that cross-shaped pier doesn't represent Christian nationalism---anyone who says that isn't being honest."

This pier will be shaped exactly like the not-so-very-far-away famous Coney Island pier.

I would say anyone who says that is either incredibly dishonest or has a very different agenda that does not include "the truth."

When Satan deceived Eve, enticing her to eat the forbidden fruit, he did so by twisting words and questioning God's integrity.

Takeaway

Nothing has changed. But it has intensified.

Isaiah (5:20) spoke to this kind of confusion when he wrote, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Vigilant. Be Prayerful.
