Martha's Vineyard: About "Diversity-Inclusion-Equity" (DIE)

After taking a week off in writing this Faith and Freedom Daily article, it's good to be back.

Last week the Left was given the opportunity to show America and the world what cultural Marxism---or so-called progressivism, really looks like. 

And the venue for the cultural lesson was the Left's own Martha's Vineyard, a place well known by both Americans and the world to be the elite's favorite hideout.

The Kennedys have relaxed there for generations. Barack and Michelle Obama are recent newcomers with their nearly $12 million summer home at the Vineyard--- a place for them when they tire of their $8.1 million Washington DC home. 

It is these folks that teach us and our kids that open borders are moral---the right thing to do if you are a Christian. Or at least a nice person.

The last few days have become the saga of what diversity, inclusion, and equity (DIE) look like in their private world.

Be informed, not misled.

The "humanitarian crises" at the border.

No. Not that border. The border of Martha's Vineyard.

After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis flew about 50 illegal alien arrivals in his state to the elite island off the coast of Massachusetts---a state that has been telling the world they are a "sanctuary" for illegal aliens---and that every other state and community should also be a "sanctuary," the Democrat officials on the island immediately declared a "humanitarian crisis."

We're talking about 50 illegal aliens.

Keep in mind the Democrat officials on the island are calling 50 illegals a crisis when the island could house about 6 million illegal aliens.

Further note that even as the 50 arrived on the island, nearly 6000 border crossers and illegal aliens walk into American border towns every single day.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker's office announced on Friday that the 50 will be transported to a military base on Cape Cod, while the governor announced he is going to mobilize about 125 National Guard members to assist in the crisis.

Not surprisingly, 84% of the residents on Martha's Vineyard voted for President Biden in the last election.

Gov. Baker thanked the folks on Martha's Vineyard for stepping up over the past couple of days and providing immediate services "to these individuals," but he was quick to announce the border crossers would not be staying among the wealthy elite Democrats on the island.

The outrage

The move by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sparked outrage among left-wing commentators and pundits on social media. 

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, claimed the Department of Justice should investigate DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on human trafficking charges by busing illegal immigrants.

The White House also criticized DeSantis’s move to bus illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard and Texas Gov. Abbott’s recent decision to send buses of illegal immigrants to Vice President Kamala Harris’s residence in Washington.

“The children … deserve better than being left on the streets of D.C. or being left in Martha’s Vineyard,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.

This is from the same people in the Obama administration who criticized Pres. Trump for putting "kids in cages"---"cages" that the Obama-Biden administration had installed and used for the purpose of "protecting" the kids.

California Governor Gavin Newsome is claiming that the illegal immigrants are "being used as 'political pawns' by 'cruel' Republican leaders," and is calling for an investigation into whether the alleged fraudulent inducement would support charges of kidnapping under relevant laws.

But DeSantis argued that the Biden administration has failed in its duty to secure the border, while Abbott said that New York City, Chicago, and Washington D.C. are suitable locations for illegal immigrants due to their “sanctuary city” status. After the Martha’s Vineyard deployment, few Democrats made mention of the crisis that’s emerged along the U.S.–Mexico border or the White House’s immigration policies.

However, conversations by CNN and other reporters reveal the illegal immigrant's response is very positive. And no one is being forced to go on the busses or airplanes. The illegals are telling reporters they are "well taken care of, know where they are going, and can get off the bus or plane at any stop."

But it appears none of the progressives bothered asking the migrants how they felt about it. Surprisingly, CNN did, and what the network found completely destroys its own prevailing narrative.

They love the trip. They've been told exactly where they are going and are being treated very well en route.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE) apparently died on Martha's Vineyard.

It is also dying in Chicago, DC, New York, and other so-called "sanctuaries."

The Left is exposing itself as the hypocrite that it is. They believe in open borders as long as the border crossers don't cross their borders.

Their call for compassion is an echo of hypocrisy---an attempt to increase the Democrat voting rolls.

But at what expense?

A report last month issued by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) found that illegal immigration has skyrocketed under the Biden administration, with nearly 5 million people illegally entering the United States in the past year and a half. The group blamed the administration’s policies as well as its decision to reverse several Trump-era immigration rules.

“Roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland has illegally entered the United States in the 18 months President Biden has been in office, with many being released into American communities,” the group wrote in August, attacking the White House for having no “willingness to enforce our laws.”

The organization also reported in July:

• Since President Biden took office, nearly 4.9 million illegal aliens have crossed our border.
• The Border Patrol had 199,976 encounters at the Southwest border in July 2022 alone, including 134,362 single adults, 51,822 family units, and 13,299 unaccompanied minors.
• This is a 325% increase from the average number of July apprehensions under President Trump.
• July was the 17th straight month with more than 150,000 encounters.
• Ten individuals on the FBI's terror watch list were apprehended between ports of entry at our Southwest border in July, bringing the total for the current fiscal year to 66.
• 2,071 pounds of fentanyl and 12,989 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the Southern border in July.
• The amount of fentanyl seized in July is equivalent to 469 million lethal doses.

Takeaway

I've written a number of times in this column--with Scripture references-- that the Left's open border policies are not biblical, because they are not.

Now we are learning how very deadly they can be to our population. And how hypocritical the people are who demand open borders under the guise of "compassion"---sometimes "biblical compassion"
